Read this book in the 70’s and had and still has a great impact on me; one of my all time favorite books.

Jiddu Krisnamurti was regarded as the Buddha of the XXth century. I read Krishnamurti when I was 19 years old, I combined it woth meditation tecniques, among them vipassana. To full understand Krishnamurti, meditation is necessary, because meditation educates the experience in awareness, you observe yourself as a witness. Otherwise is just a piece of intelectual knowledge with no practical use. When Krishnamurti says "Life is relation", he talks about how the mind relates with the world, meditation is the capacity to be aware of that experience. He mentions it in "The first and last freedom", I recommend to read also Erich Fromm when talking about Marx and Buddhism. Also, from my Spanish speaking world, Francisco Varela on mind and matter. Good your read that book, psychologists in general do not really understand Krishnamurti. Once you understand meditation of full aware attention (vipassana) and the development of the witness observer, you will understand easily Husserl and Heidegger.

Incredible that his talks and books have been around for decades and could help humans immensely if they were taken seriously. What has been challenging for me is after knowing his words having to watch just how insane the world is now that I see human activity through this lens of total freedom.

Interesting read! Especially like the "violence theory the author" tries to explain with use of particular words and expressions!

I certainly plan to read more of him. I recommend you Alan Watts' 'The Wisdom of Insecurity' - similar to Krishnamurti.

If you categorise me you negate me. Or, it can be entirely the case.

If you call this review, ! Tossing around the book left and right, jumping allover, saying nonsense, wit underwear! No wandering, and taking a but freedom which you have no idea of what is ,but don't do that; go done there and see and be ,then in that setting which he came to show you do the other, then we will say well you see and hear what is -

I don't think his first point which you read out about categorising yourself leads to violence. It just doesn't. It can do so, it does, and then it doesn't. Seems like a typical lazy intellectual e=mc2 i've sussed it all out idea, that is obviously drivel.

I agree. Like all things, it depends on the context.

@@AheadOfTheCurveVideos Okay. So do you think that advocating in the right direction is basically about right? That perhaps a majority will fall short of the absolute nature of the idea, and in so falling short will have at least started out on a journey, in thought? Via my current thinking, however responsibility in this whole line appears somewhat fraught. I have to wonder what you reckon? sincerely,

Have not people fought wars with each other over beliefs, religion and other useless things that categorise humans. People have even taken slaves just based on the color of skin. So when he says that division causes violence I think that he is making a fair point.
