Here in Minneapolis, we have a city in a forest....and the trees prevent seeing far....until you get to the sore of one of our ten thousand lakes..... now Ajahn I understand why I get pleasure from walking to the lake...and gazing to the far shore...thank you...

"Measure someone by their good work and deeds, not where they come from" it's simply astounding that under the banner of good deeds vs faith people of religious conviction killed each other in the thousands during the crusades.

As a Christian, the crusades were not Christlike. But, Christianity is not the first faith to commit atrocities. Intolerance of the other has been sadly, a recurring feature of human history. Those who carry out atrocities in the name of their religion are nothing like the many peaceful founders of faith.

well hey there! did you know that the neuronal connections that we have that descend from our brain to our extremities are actually called the pyramidal system? I am a medıcıne student, and the talks i listen to never fail to convince me of that extrapyramidal(if you like) soul, or awareness, that surpasses our neuronal awareness. Out of the mother's belly the heart walks by it's rhythm to freedom from the jungle of lies with feeling avoiding offering it self to the ancestors inviting to build an energetic structure standing the times viewing the infinite horizon of eternity under the sky of memory with it's voice of the Creator for the promise of life to eternity established in desire. The way of energy is conditional free.

Ajahn, I have a question, is it against Buddhism to stand as a member of a trial because one should not judge people or hand out punishments, that is what karma does, that is an awful burden to bear.

@grouchfan. It is not for me to say, but i was called to the jury and abiding by the 5 precepts, not having to dispense punishment or acted with hatred was able to dispense justice equitably.
