Hands down the best Harley windshield on the market! Outside of the excellent product for all the reasons you stated, absolutely the best customer service anywhere. One thing you neglected to mention is that the reason the company asks you to keep the plastic on the windshield when you first test it out, is that they’ll exchange it if you don’t like it. When you’re 100% happy then take it off.
I bought a 10" Tourer Freedom Shield based on your review. I used your discount coupon as well. I mounted it on my 2009 SG and took it out for a ride on I-66, 80mph +/-. Everything on this review is true. It works just as you described. Many thanks. ~Blue
Truly amazing review!!! Currently debating which direction to go, but the thicker, wider and no visual distortion makes this the clear choice. Thanks for the great video.
Thanks for your review. I used the coupon code and saved $17.50 on the 9” touring windshield. I have a 2017 Ultra Limited that came used with a 8” - 9” Klock Werks that IMO has terrible visibility. Glad I came across your review because like you I never heard of Freedom shields before.
Put my first Freedom Shield on my bike just recently. Hands down my favorite windshield I have had yet. Also makes a much more pleasant ride for the passenger.
I have a Freedom shield and love it, John was very helpful working with me to get the right height for my size and it was spot on. Great company and great product.
Ordered the clear 10 in touring windshield for my 09 SG, thanks for the video and discount code. Your video was very helpful in determining the height I should order.
Excellent review! I have a 9” $30 windshield that works ok. I was going to get a clockwerks windshield, but your video sold me on Freedom windshield. I’ve had a similar design $30 windshield as freedom before on my 2007 street glide and it worked perfect. I can feel slot more wind with clockwerks design shield compared to my freedom windshield style cheap windshield.
So helpful, thanks. I have a Sport Glide but the information about the quality, fitment & customer service is all very relevant so great help. Thanks from the UK👍
Got the same height you did and it's a world of difference. Harleys 7inch caused me to be a bobble head at higher speeds lol. The thickness of this one caused me some issues putting it on, the outer screws didn't want to line up. Had to loosen the whole fairing and it finally fit. Most likely something with my bike. Thanks for the promo code too!
I have an 8 inch Freedom Shields. Loved it. Got a new seat so I moved to a 9 inch Freedom. Both of mine have the slots cut into the mounting holes like your other shields. Easy to mount. I ordered a 9 inch in the touring width just last week and can't wait to try it out. Should bee here this week. Great company to deal with. These shields just have such nice fit and finish. Bike had a Klockwerks on it when I got it. Hated the look and way too much distortion. I am really happy I tried Freedom out.
Those holes NOT being notched means you have to take the bolts completely out taking longer to install. Not a big deal if you are planing on always running it, but I switch shields often.
I agree and have the same windshield in light tint made a world of difference in riding above 70 MPH. I was also getting allot of wind up from the gas tank at speed causing my half helmet to lift somewhat, I added the Harley front fork wind deflectors and problem solved!! I dino't really like the look of the wind deflectors but the comfort on long highway rides outways the look issue . You can also add Memphis shade hand guards to block all the hand wind they are a must for cold weather riding up here in the Northeast!! Great Video!!
So the Klockworks windshield was 7" tall, and the Freedom windshield is 9" tall. In my mind, thats not an equal comparision. A difference of 2" in height on any windshield will have a dramatic effect on the airflow.
How tall are you? I recently purchased a 03 elctra glide and the gentleman had a 7" freedom non touring on the bike. I'm 6'0 wearing a full-face helmet. I noticed after long rides my necks sore, granted I have a herniated c6. I'm wondering if it's the right height.
Hey there just curious how tall you are ? I’m looking at. Freedom brand as well , I’m on a 16 STS & wasn’t sure bout getting the “touring model” but after this I think it’s a good idea. Thanks !!
I am 6'-1" but I have short legs and long torso. Give Freedom a call and they will ask you for some specific measurements and help you find the right height.
Great review . Thank you. I'm planning to buy a 9" touring wide freedpm shield for my 2022 ultra limited. I'm 5'8" and seat height is almost an inch higher than Street Glide. So I'm a little undecided about the size of the shield. If you don't mind may I ask how tall you are ? Thanks again.
I am 6'-1" but my torso is long and my legs are short. Call Freedom Shields and they will ask some questions regarding your pant inseam and where you want your eye line of sight to be with the windshield. They have fantastic customer service and will get you the right height shield.
Im 5'10 and put an 8" freedom sheild on my street glide and can see over it clear as day, if i could do it over again i would have went 10" as i still get a little buffetting, i might just order one
I just rewatched your video and I have a question if you wouldn't mind answering it, I would appreciate it sir. At 2:00 you say it is a 9-inch windshield with 8-1/4 inches from top of the fairing. On the Freedom website it shows in the picture the 9-inch windshield is 9 inches from the top of the fairing. I ordered the 10 in for my street glide and that 3/4 of an inch difference between what you said and the picture on their website would determine if I change my order to the 9 inch instead of 10. Thank you, sir.
You have to remember that as the windshield leans backwards slightly it lowers the vertical height measurement. It is 9 inches in length from the top of the fairing but only 8-1/4" vertical from the top which is the measurement that will affect visibility. This link is from the Freedom Shields website and should help. It shows the measurements. You can also read the article from the link in the description and the same measurement picture can be found there. freedomshields.net/product/street-glide-windshield/
Hi, I have looking into the Freedom shields for a while and have been emailing John at Freedom.. I have tested with an extension for height, and with an aftermarket seat, a 10' touring will be perfect..... My last decision is tint level ... what tint level is yours, please ? I live in Australia 🇦🇺 so sending back is not financially practical.. Jim
6'-1" short legs, long torso. Be sure to reach out to Freedom Shields about sizing, they were of great help for me in determining which size to get. Don't forget to use the coupon code in the video description for a discount as well!
Your video was very one sided. But thank you for your opinion, I’ve owned a Klock Werks windshield for over three years now and have put over 35K miles on it. Never had a problem with it shaking or putting it in place as you stated. If you want to be fair and have people take you serious then be fair in your comparison as well. Good luck.
I've owned 2 Klockwerks windshields on 3 bikes for 10 years. An 8.5" and a 6.5" and over put over 110K miles between the bikes using Klockwerks windshields. They are good windshields but the Freedom is a better manufactured product. I never would have known the difference had I not tried the Freedom. The 8.5" and higher Klockwerks windshields do shake, especially in comparison to the thicker Freedom windshield. That is not unfair, it is an unbiased observation.
@@RideitWrenchit I have an 8.5 on my St Glide and have never seen it or felt it vibrate. All opinions are biased because they are your opinion. This video did not test two equal products. I’m all for a better product but I don’t see the point on bashing another product to bring attention to yours.
