Keep it up bud!! It really earns me when you do all this travelling and learning and stuff and you tell your family about all the amazing adventures that you encountered but they look at you like a dear in a headlight . My mother is so racist and can't stand her any mote ..since I got back from South East Asia she thinks I should settle down get a part time job ..she does respects my profession and doesn't listen to me when I tell her about all the people I met and how my business allows me to do so many incredible things...in 2017 I will move away from this toxic vibe and live in a remote village and forget about them .

Chris, I hardly know you, but I will tell you something my father told me before I went overseas, (U. S. Navy): it is always darkest before the dawn. I love your channel. Make a living, partying can come later. The beach is great, but things have a way of working themselves out. I am in Texas. I built two large ideas, one a business the largest of its kind in the city. I also had a BBS, back when they were really the thing. You are a hard worker. As you wander throughout like my friend, what ever be your goal, 'keep your eye upon the donut and not upon the whole'. Now give me some advice. I will keep you and yours in my prayers. I've been following you almost from the beginning, and you were one of the reasons my boyfriend and I decided to sell our apartment in Denmark and travel full time as digital nomads. Hi Chris. Love your videos. I hope you don't mind answering a question for me. I have been to Chiang Mai many times and towards the end of the year I will be staying for 2 to 3 months. I am trying to decide what area to stay and like the idea of Nimmen. I know you stayed there for a while and just wondering on your thoughts if it is a good place to stay for that long. I don't want to get bored and don't want to be too far out because I won't have a scooter. Is it a good place to stay or would you suggest another area such as near the old city? I look fwd to your input and thankyou.

Nimman is the best area in my opinion but I may return to another area when I go back. It's nothing against Nimman though. I think Denise and I are just ready for a change and you can get a nicer apartment for the same money if you live further out of town.

Chiang Mai is very easy to get used to. I prefer it to Bali at the moment because it's very easy to live a normal life here, unlike Bali where you always feel like a tourist.

Hey Chris. Just wanted to say great work! I have a quick question. How much money did you set off with? I'm starting my digitial nomad life in SE Asia in 2 months and I predict I'll have $10,000 AUD by then probably more. I can see that you hustled with coding. I myself am not a coder. I'm an English teacher (with a background in marketing) but I want to start motivational speaking I already have a blog and will contribute to that daily or close to daily. Anyway, do you or any other Digital Nomads out there, think 10 grand is enough to get started?

Isn't it a bit of a contradiction that digital nomads stay at chiang mai? :P "location independent lifestyle" then you just stay in chiang mai cause all the people are there :D

I think so. They're not dependent on the location - They could leave at any time - but they decide not to.

you could leave at any time, but you're not really location independent because if you were to move to a more expensive location you would most likely go broke.

Alex Copenhagen good point. The definition of location independence is not 100% clear. Does it mean that you're no longer dependent on living in your home country or does it mean you could live comfortably anywhere in the world? This is not 100% decided

I think this video doesn't show the reality of a "nomad digital worker" . You only show how fun traveling. 70 % of the video is about how fun traveling around asia is and doing a lil bit of work. I'm sure many kids or people who want to do this nomad life style are fooled by this. I'm not hating, just saying that you also put hard work behind this to experience all of this. Great video tho, keep it up

Of course. Most of the time we are working but it be a pretty boring video if the whole thing was me working on the computer, right? I tried to highlight the inspirational parts of the journey. Without the great community and the travel experiences, why even do it? (My thinking at least).

I think it’s pretty much implied that he’s working most of the time. If you think he’s doing an hour of work then partying the rest of the day and financing this lifestyle, you’re just an idiot and that’s on you.
