Great tip about starting the stitch-in-the-ditch process on the inner borders rather than from the edges. Thanks!

Sewing those borders first makes so much sense. I plan to try this. You mentioned in an earlier comment that you might do this or baste these on the entire quilt rolling it and then come back and quilt. Is that correct?

Thank you! That is correct. If it were a larger quilt. I would do stitch in the ditch and baste the entire quilt prior to heavy quilting it:)

Do they make it with a white background? And how much would a kit cost?

Hi Corey: Great tips. Can you tell me, when you’re stitching in the ditch on the sides, do you go all the way down the length of the quilt, or just what you can do that is visible in the frame? I’m so unclear on this. It probably explains why my quilt edges are so horrible. Thanks.

Hi Laurie! On this size of a quilt, I went ahead a ditched borders for the whole panel prior to starting, but on a larger quilt I would ditch what is in my throat space and baste throughout the middle of the quilt to stabilize. Roll and repeat the steps until you are at the bottom. Then I would roll back, change threads and quilt away:) Corey
