I’m just researching, I work on street sweepers and the vacuum system is a big fan that is held on with a conical sheeve. Had a real rough one in the shop this week, it uses 1/2 bolts and we managed to snap them off using a long ratchet, not enough room for a puller on the back side, and we were heating and smacking the damn thing for about 3 hours. Had to pull the huge 150 pound fan blade out with the shaft still attached because we just couldn’t get it.

Anyone tried torching it a bit to loosen? I do SM engine flywheels that way for a certain motor. Attempting this myself. These pullers an item you buy or they already on the pulleys?
The puller feature is built into the inner part of the pulley, I have used heat before but if you do only hear the outside of it where the belt goes and not the inner part as that would make it expand more and become even tighter
I’ll be finishing that this week, they guy ordered the rubber sleeve for it so he said no rush till this weekend, I’ll have the final video on it this week
Use two long bolts to hold the two parts loosely together. Slide them on the shaft, snug up the bolts to start the process. Then replace with the shorter bolts one at a time.
@@smalltownmachineshop6860 My favorite were the Lesco stamped floating decks. They long ago stopped making the spindles. I hope to one day figure out what bearing are needed and procure some Made in USAs and rebuild my decks.
