Love the way you help the horses learn to use their body & they then are able to feel safe. Thank you for what you do for horses! 💚

I love how soft you are with your pressuring on the horse: they really respond well to gentle but firm treatment. Some trainers I’ve watched use the same idea but have trouble staying soft while trying to implement the ideas of pressure. Patience is so important!

The key is that our horses can only be as soft as we are within so if a boundary is built but we are doing it with a tension within ourselves, that is the best our horses can respond. Also, they may respond to a firm pressure but a response in fear will not build a better connection!

This video has helped me so much. i have watched it so many times and continue too. Shows me the "dance" to unlock any tension and soften to pressure. Watching you go thru the whole session helps me put together everything on your subscription site. Thank you.

Fantastic! 👌 Has just seen this video 3 times in a row -and learned so much, that I'm going over to work on, with my fabulous sweetheart, of my big loving, gentle, anxious mare ❤️

@@JoshNicholAHorsemansPursuit Thanks a lot. Signed up for your program, too. That's very helpful. Your way of telling the things, is very clear The way you show how to create the relationship, being aware of one's interpretation, is very appealing to me. I have one question though Here in Denmark, there are not many round pens I work with my mare in the pasture, closely to the herd So, I actually, do not have the opportunity to work, with her, without the lead rope Do you think, that I will be able, to reach the same willingness, with her, this way...? I can say, that she leaves her herd, and comes to me, when she sees me 😊

@@hannibruhngrann9211 yes you can, the key is to do your best to not let her feel confined on the lead. Help her understand what you are looking for vs. making it happen!

@@hannibruhngrann9211 you sure can, you just need to shift your thinking on the lead and allow her as much liberty as you can to make free choices!

What about a horse that sticks in the saddle?
@JoshNicholAHorsemansPursuit
@JoshNicholAHorsemansPursuit 3 года назад
Its a bit of a progression because you need to clean up the flow in the groundwork first but then I will add the bumping of the stirrup into the pressure and finish with free forward movement, then I will add that to the mounted work. You can also have someone sit on them while another person does groundwork to back up the rider. The key is to focus on a soft forward response, not just moving forward.

Do you find that mares tend to be stickier through the shoulders than geldings?
@JoshNicholAHorsemansPursuit
@JoshNicholAHorsemansPursuit 2 года назад
I have not found that to be the case. I do find that space horses are generally more sticky then pressure or mind horses.

@@JoshNicholAHorsemansPursuit, well that makes complete sense! My mare seems to be a pretty tense, space horse. I’m finding it hard to create a consistent state of relaxation with her. Some days it’s like a rock and others it’s illusive. I’ve only had her since May and feel like we’re finding each other, but it’s hard not to revert to my old, rather dominant ways. 😢

@@JoshNicholAHorsemansPursuit what's space / pressure / mind horses? Is there a description somewhere? 🙏

@@vufijs Hi Laima I think there are some videos on Utube, where Josh explains it In any case, he has a fabulous program. Here's a lot of how to work with the human factor, so to speak. I think I'm paying 40 usd/monthly. You can choose to pay yearly, and then get quite some discount 😊👌
