It would be really cool if Monster Jam WF had one side of the track just like the old style with cars and busses and the other side of all dirt just for big air.
That would actually be a good idea since it could satisfy fans of both the old style of the World Finals free styling, as well as the current style. Big air is fun and all, but it’s also cool seeing the trucks smash through old campers, jump over shipping containers, and crush cars. For an oldie like myself, I feel that the current way freestyle is done at the World Finals is lacking the variety of spectacle that was present in the older way. Big air, saves, and doughnuts are fun and all, but after watching on repeat for a while it just leaves me longing for the variety of options present in the old freestyles.
I get chills every time I watch this. Monster Jam just isn't the same anymore. It's all about saves and air nowadays, but where's the skills and crush cars? :(
davidandalex2 the answer is BKT tires. Bkt tires are expensive, and rather weak. Because they dont want the tires to pop, they arent using cars. Once the bkt tire sponsor goes, the cars will come back
davidandalex2 cars completely vanished from the scene as soon as bkt began. Even 2014 had cars. This is stuff ive heard from the monster truck communities on FB. I suggest you ask around if you want official answers. Like i said. This is only stuff ive heard
Eh I'm a fan of the stuff you see nowadays but I understand where your coming from. I think it was just monster jam trying to keep up with the direction the fans were moving
One of the greatest calls in Monster Jam history. It saddens me so, SO much that none of the announcers nowadays are even close to as good as Scott Douglas and Ken Stout.
How was El Toro Loco ruined? Design wise the only new things are the horn color and the golden tooth which was removed. A bit of a downgrade but not ruined. Black El Toro Loco definitely makes up for it.
An interesting fact about this run is that the judges originally gave this run a score of 27, but due to the overwhelming displeasure from the fans, the judges increased it to a 31.
27 would have honestly been too high, he really didn't do much except for the container jump, he rolled over most of the obstacles without getting much air
I grew up watching this exact show on tv channel SPEED. Just went to monster jam in 2018 and 4 out of 12 trucks had broke and couldn't continue after their fist(and not very spectacular) jump... was very disappointed. Only 3 trucks filled the time and one of them legit did maybe 4 jumps his whole run, monster jam isn't what it used to be. They should really bring back vehicles. I still get chills watching a truck go over a car-van-bus-van-car setup. And the containers were just jaw dropping. Now it's all endos and back flips... at the last show I went to only one truck did it.. idk might just be me but a back flip was only cool when a couple of trucks did it. Now it's normal, normal and almost boring
Yep FELD has taken the creativity out of the tracks. All tracks now are just dirt ramps. I'm the same I grew up watching these early shows. 2004 is my favorite world finals.
tbh this run didn't deserve the score of a 31 he mainly just rolled over most of the stuff his only memorable moment was when he barely missed Bounty Hunter
Back from 2000-2005 all you needed was 1 good moment and you were in contention for the win. Best example: Wrenchhead in 2000. No matter how bad your run was as long as you did only 1 amazing move, you'd get the lead
SHEVYWOOD I get that I don’t think wrenchhead was a good example tho. She had pretty good momentum throughout her run and did have some big moves. I think they only gave this one to Lupe because he got robbed the year before.
SHEVYWOOD she was a One and done at the finals but did a couple shows in other trucks. Check her run out tho from world finals 2 she definitely could’ve won. That’s why I was so confused lmao I thought you were talking about her run i think it’s an amazing run for its time
So much better than Max D and Madusa though. Hit a number of obstacles, kept the flow going for the most part and had a wow moment to cap it off. The others didn't really have the flow, many good hits, or momentum or fill the clock properly. I think El Toro was the best run of the night honestly. Bounty Hunter had a decent run but the flow kept being killed having to reverse. Momentum is a key part to a good freestyle. Black Smith was on a good run too and I honestly think Huffaker would've taken the win if he kept going, but he ate the car stack. Leaving El Toro as the only real victor to me.
