Damn puddle at the end! It looked like antifreeze! That’s city skating for ya! I skate in a place that keeps everything clean, but there is always some sand, which is a drag for good bearings. I love ❤️ skating!

Rini Rini. The best is to study classical dance like modern or modern jazz dance and everyone needs a little ballet. That will give you strength, balance and control. Whatever you memorize and perfect in dance school, you'll be able to do on skates, to some degree. Then you can apply these skate techniques on top of the balance, control and techniques you've learned safely on the dance floor without risk of falling hard and getting injured as could be done skating without that previous training. Also, all people should have at least 1 month of judo. The 1st month of proper judo school, all they teach you is how to fall safely on nice thick mats. Everyone needs to train in falling at least once in a while, so that if you fall, you generally don't get hurt. 1st you do a bunch of somersaults, then rolling sideways on the mats, then falling safely from different positions, which all practice rolling out of whatever position you were in. (Judo is all about throwing people so you have to learn how to fall first.) Once you get comfortable rolling on mats, you'll be able to roll on hard surfaces or anywhere, comfortably too. It's when people stiffen up because they don't know what to do, that often causes injury during a fall. If you practise rolling once in a while, you'll naturally roll if you fall and that's how you'll probably not get injured or hurt at all if you fall, including on skates. Some of the best rollerskaters at Skate Key roller rink in New York, (now closed), did tumbling and hand springs as part of their continual skating techniques, in order to keep those techniques polished for use in case of the occasional pile ups that occured in front of them, which they'd simply jump over or tumble over without losing a beat. It's a great idea for inclusion in skating to avoid injury as things can happen, like certain places like grates you might skate over, that can stop you short, but you could roll out of, if you practise a little rolling regularly, along with wearing knee, elbow & wrist guards especially depending on where you skate. For dance classes: First you go to watch (respectfully) at the best dance schools in your city for at least an hour a day until you choose your favorite class that goes good with your style, (if it's your favorite out of many, it probably goes with your style and probably advanced level, so you'll probably have to train in a similar style that has beginner or advanced beginner level classes for a while). The classes can be expensive, but you can master them faster, and save money, by immediately practicing everything you learn by watching or taking a class, immediately afterwards at your health club or in the hallways of the dance school equipped with mirrors and bars for warming up (in better dance schools), or in empty classrooms at the dance school. Once you choose your favorite class, you memorize the warm up, by watching that class every day then practising as much as you can remember immediately after the class or warm up part is over. Even if you're taking a more beginner level class, concurrently, you still watch your FAVORITE class every day until you memorize at least the 1st half, which is called the warm up. That is how to become great in your performance the fastest, by memorizing it before you even start taking the actual class. (Some gorgeous young ballerinas told me they proved that in Russia when I told them I was memorizing my favorite teacher's warm up & some combinations before trying to get back in his class again, while they were warming up, doing things like beyond splits on a wall mounted ladder just for that purpose in the magnificent warm up area at Steps on Broadway.) And I was regularly taking my favorite teacher's style by a beginner level teacher of the style and several other similar style teachers in advanced beginner level until I memorized my favorite teacher's warmup which took me 8 months to remember all the way through, on my own. Then I also paid for 2 private sessions by dance teachers for helping me perfect it, while practicing 3hrs everyday at my health club, then trained doing it 3 hrs a day for 6 more months on my own at health clubs in Mexico City, (while there were no classes, just as I did in New York), while taking dance classes and aerobics classes in Mexico City also. They had 2 great teachers at the health club who included the Michael Jackson Moonwalk in their classes - they were great! And, yes, I was able to join the intermediate-advanced level of my favorite dance teacher upon returning to New York. It was pretty great. I hadn't been rollerskating for over 10 years, which was my original favorite sport. When I went back to also rollerskating I was 100 X's better than I used to be, 1st time back on skates, because of dance training. Dance classes are where you want to safely train in balance, posture and control. Only ballet really teaches posture, so all the other dance teachers tell everyone they need some ballet to learn that. Many of the top multi-million contract players in professional sports secretly receive ballet training from top level ballet teachers in order to gain balance and control, with which one can become world class in any other sport including martial arts, if first training in ballet, modern & jazz dance by great teachers. (P.S.: Not all of the men are gay in dance.) Dance training = non-buffoon training with correct posture and balance. Its for everybody, and it's super enjoyable. Depending on how many hours a day you train you get that size of an endorphin flow that lasts for 40 hours, so you can even skip a day without losing that flow. An endorphin flow is like a natural high with all your sharpest faculties and abilities and balance at maximum capability. That knowledge is from 10 years of dance training 5-8 hrs a day. The endorphins usually start to kick in, 40 minutes into a class. The better you get at performing your favorite class, especially after you memorize it, the higher level endorphin flow you get. When you're committed, the endorphins even begin flowing the moment you realize you're going to be on time for class, showered, dressed & out the door. It's great! You'll dream of performing the class at the height of performance just before waking up. That's a wonderful experience, too. When you watch figure skaters, the difference in the ones that are truly beautiful compared to awkward looking ones -- it's the ones who train heavily in dance who are amazing, compared to the akward looking ones who never had any dance training in ballet, modern or modern jazz dance. Dance training improves you greatly, while it's hard to notice actual improvement in your body from aerobics or other sports. ☺
