Hello, thank you for taking the time to provide this review. The difference in filter installation between the Action 4 and Action 3 cameras appears to be related to DJI potentially working with various vendors for this particular camera component. In our testing, the installation on the Action 4 was notably secure, even firmer than what we observed with the Action 3. It's worth noting that DJI's own ND filters listed on their website are designed for both the Action 3 and Action 4 cameras. This suggests that variations in the design of the outside ring, possibly due to different vendors, may result in these differences in firmness during installation.
@@Romafedorov There is no reason to have different friction between the 2 cameras if the outside frame used by DJI is exactly the same between the 2 cameras.
Don't set the shutter speed too low; this can affect stabilization performance in a negative way. 1/200 should be the lowest, unless you plan to use a gimbal.
@RomaFedorov now i know before, i used 25fps and 50 shutter speed the stabilization was so ugly and i tried over 200 shutter speed, now the stabilization was great...
Excellent Roma. But can you do a video comparison with and without nd filter while moving so we can see motion blur. You did a comparison while standing still which is moot.
To me these aren't super cheap, it can be "bumped " and come off? Are screw in style worth the quick mount tradeoff?😮 Fantastic review and no biased opinion!😊😊
My test, experience: this information is hardly mentioned on RU-vid. Set your OSMO Action4 to at least 1/160sec or better 1/200sec in Rock Steady mode (digital stabilizer). The stabilizer is overwhelmed with longer exposure times and you get unusable, blurry images. So you can forget about the often recommended 25/30 images with a 50/60sec exposure time with ND filter "Motion Blur" (180 degree rule) for smooth images. You almost always need digital stabilization switched on with an action cam.
Do you live in Thailand? I think you live in thailand , thx for information and the question is How about the sharpness quality when record with ND filter?
They have an oil-proof, water-repellent coating, but they're not waterproof. However, they can be mounted directly on the Action 4 without removing the original lens filter, so I guess it won't be a problem to use them in harsh rain or similar conditions.
I actually dropped it once while riding a motorbike. I bumped the camera on my body, and the filter fell. I'm glad I managed to find the filter on the road. Surprisingly, nothing happened to it; the build quality is solid, but it's very easy to drop.
The Freewell filters aren’t screw on. You can mount them directly on top of the original waterproof lens. However, I’m not sure why you’d want to use ND filters under water..
@@Romafedorov GRACIAS ! I was watching another videos from you. Endeed I bought the OSMO Action 4 since worked for many years with GO PRO SERIES since HERO 3 / SESSION 5 / 360 & PRO MAX.
I would say on average after watching a few other videos on this topic (and the following comments)....the consensus seems to filters like this action cameras aren't worth it.
