I’ve had the 80mm built now for a year and still scared to fly it. (I go in the hangar to take it to the field and as soon as I feel the weight of the fuselage minus the batteries I’m like, “You’re not ready….” But that doesn’t stop me from doing the 90mm upgrade! I think there’s a saying, “A fool and his money…” (I forgot the rest) Great video!
I can't blame you for that feeling! Beautifully crafted airplane, want to stay ahead of power curve, thrust isn't immediate like prop..approaching shallow w/full flaps & nose flared, she tracks nice & sets up for landings sweetly once you get hang of nose high flight.. too much energy she'll porpoise/bounce, but SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL once you get the hang of it..I fly mine a touch towards noseheavy with gear down, settles into a stable airspeed w/trim set nose up+flaps, makes landing smoother..slight power changes made very smoothly make for nice stable long final approach, setting up for buttery smooth landings😎 I LOVE my A-10's!
@@francisconti9085 I finally took it out! Flew it 3 times on Maiden Day. All went well. Takeoff for the first time I was scared @@@@less, but I did the math- “18 months setting in the hangar divided the $700 price tag came out to $38.00 per month… I can afford that! First landing was a little dicey. Thank god for the gear upgrade! 2nd and 3rd takeoffs and flights were a blast. Landings were better, not great. Thinking CG. I got balanced, a smidge nose heavy, how I like to fly, but makes it hard to flair and get the mains down first. (More carrier style, all three wheels touching at the same time. Thinking about moving the 6000’s a little back) My field is mostly “gas bastards”. This is the first plane in four years to get them out of the hangar and watch fly. Knowing them, they were taking bets on whether I’d crash on landing and how. I too love the a-10’s. Got a couple of the Eflite a-10’s v-1 and v-2, but nothing compares to the Freewing 80mm. It’s like RC flying on steroids.
@@jeffhenderson934 AWSOME! Ya I forgot to mention that you will need more elevator throw to compensate for the CG-foreward..it makes you also put in more & more elevator as it slows.. but is nice & stable as you come in nose high, doesn't have the bounce tendency so long as get her slow & carry power, give a little power to roundout, loses energy nicely in flare as held😉 Once you "get the feel" its awsome! They all thrust a little different w/lower too..
Excellent flight bud and love the sound of those 90mm fans sounds awsome I have the A10 and love it though mine is grounded due to being in the middle of a makeover 😉
Still have the stock 80’s in mine. It’s a lumbering giant. Only edf I have that gets our Gaser’s at the field to come out of the hangar to watch. Can’t imagine the big a-10 on twin 90’s!
Heeey, thanks for subscribing. For some reason people are watching and enjoying the videos but do not subscribe. It really helps those of us who are the content creators. Regarding the 90mm upgrade I last recall Paul saying that he flies that setup comfortably at 3.5 minutes.
Very nice, your making it look too easy. It seems to sound amazing. The only a10 edf I've flown is the eflite twin 30mm umx! It seems to fly amazing, what do you think of the much larger a10? It looks like it flys terrific, as well as easy to land, and very clean rotation!😎👌
