It was my 3rd edf when I got into jets. (Viper 70mm/Eflite 70mm F-16 Thunderbird) Once I flew the 64mm a-10 the other two edf’s very rarely saw the light of day. I did beat the crap out of the nose gear. Not the a-10’s fault, I lived in fear on tip stalls and always landed hot. Good news- They came out with a “V-2”. It’s never been wrecked. The Eflite a-10 is a Must Have, and could be a “First EDF”.
@TwoBrosRC
@TwoBrosRC Год назад
"tip stalls" aren't something to be concerned about - it's mostly a RC pilot myth at this scale and with this type of wing. This jet however is a really nice one - but we honestly prefer the 64mm Rafale. It's not as fast, but it's way more fun - and cheaper too.
@jeffhenderson934
@jeffhenderson934 Год назад
@@TwoBrosRC the 64mm Rafale is a must have as well. I got the elevator issue solved on the F-22, so Saturday morning the plan is- F-22, Futura v3, 90mm Viper and the FMS Bae Hawk. With that lineup and the rush flying them all in one day, I could solve the opioid overdose crisis. I don’t even need a beer when I get home. It’s an endorphin rush. It’s better than any drug. Cheaper habit too.

I just finished repairing my A-10 after a pretty bad crash, clipped a fence pole. I went with the all grey "flipper" paint scheme this time new decals, cant hardly tell it was wrecked. . But I almost bought a new one because right now, and for another day or so, Horizon Hobby has this on sale for $90 off. That's just incredible value , 339 for this thing! Its sick.

Nice work on the repair. It's thankfully a very strong airframe and should be easy to get back up. Gray electrical tape on Amazon (Scotch Super 33) is almost a perfect match and can help patch some areas or reinforce common scrape-prone areas too.

Hey Jon love the Warthog the T34 engine sound is so unique very distinctive sound same engines used on Bombardier jets. I was wondering what about the 64mm Motionrc Warthog how's that compare? It is cheaper. Would love to see if you have an F4 or F14 in your hanger to fly? Im considering the 80mm Motionrc Warthog
@TwoBrosRC
@TwoBrosRC Год назад
Hi Terry, we can't speculate on the Freewing Warthog because we've never flown either 64mm or 80mm versions of it. We have heard that the 64mm pales in comparison to the E-flite version though. We do have an F-14 - check through our upload history, it was just recently featured!

Looks like mostly throttle management being the biggest part of the landing.. !? I have yet to maiden mine.. still finishing up the new paint job..
@TwoBrosRC
@TwoBrosRC Год назад
Throttle management is huge with this jet. Even slight amounts of throttle with full flaps can cause it to float long enough to put it into a stall without being able to recognize it. Going full throttle too low to the ground can also cause a pitch down response with flaps dropped which is what happened here.

Can anyone please comment on your preferred battery placement? The space between the top of the battery and bottom of the canopy is very small, compounded by a battery tray that slopes upward toward the front of the fuse. I am shoving the battery far to the back in order to (1) get the proper CG and (2) achieve clearance between the battery and bottom of the canopy. With that, placement, I still have problems finding a good path for the IC5 connector (huge) and the battery/ESC wires. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the insightful reviews! Since this plane has two ESCs, do you need to use the Spektrum programming box on each ESC to program reverse thrust, or can you accomplish this via the Avian Prog menu on a Spektrum radio? I just recently moved to Durham. Maybe I'll see you guys at Hangar 18. :)

Jon: Could you do (or have u), a flap segment? I rarely use flaps, (aside from turning flaps into full span ailerons), & see pilots that actually use flaps regularly, & I feel I'm missing something.
@francisconti9085

Flaps lower stall speed, tame descent/approach energy, make plane more stable .. plane will climb well with full power flaps & nose level, can also give little more roll authority @landing when slowed down..

Hi Jon, I have or should say had this plane. I was running rechargeable batteries in my dx8e and a battery failed on me. I got a low voltage alert on my transmitter. For whatever reason the plane went into a nose dive and hit the ground going 100+mph. I called HH and they said to send it in for a warranty claim. What’s your experience with this? The a-10 didn’t execute its fail safe profile, but it was also partially caused from my transmitter. Think it’s even worth the cost of shipping to send it in? I’ve had my f-16 go into fail safe mode once and I was able to get it back. The way the a-10 reacted, I didn’t stand a chance.
