Its true! the elevator servos are being replaced with higher torque servos from motion rc. The originals stall out and cause crashes due to no elevator control! .I too Received the email from Motion. Servos are being sent free of charge. =) 1
Looking good, Ryan! We've had dozens of pilots successfully maidening their MiG-29s over the past day, but based on one customer's report this afternoon, I'm sure by now you've seen the email we sent to everyone who received a MiG-29 this week. Basically, we decided next week to send out Freewing's newly finished upgraded servo to all of you, free of charge, and upgrading the rest of the incoming MiGs and future aircraft as well. Not because I think the model needs it (most of us have had no issues), but because Freewing wanted to build in even more headroom on the elevator in anticipation of people planning heavier packs, 8s+ systems, thrust vectoring, turbine conversions, etc. We're happy to add some extra peace of mind for our customer family.
By the way, slick landing, as others have said! You're right, I think you'll like the 5000 better than that fat pack. I prefer flying mine on lighter packs (4000-5000), sans ordnance.
WOW!!! Now that’s customer service!! Put mine together last night but will wait time fly until I get new seevos installed. Thanks so much ALPHA and Motion RC for having our backs👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼🔥🔥👍🏼👍🏼💥
Everybody knows at this point I default to nose heavy on first flights. It wasn’t by too much forward of the cg marks. I flew it also on 5000s and even 7000s on the back two positions off camera after this flight. I’m actually in agreement on the book rates with this one. I wouldn’t want less than 80% throw on this bird. Looking forward to more flights. Stellar product size and over all experience.
Just in is that the elevator servos are being replaced with higher torque servos. The originals stall out. Received the email from Motion. Servos are being sent free of charge.
The way the intakes sit under the body like that really pave the way for how iconic this bird looks. They really did a phenomenal job on this one! 🔥😎 And what a greaser!!!
WOW. Great flying a awesome looking plane. Bobby K amazing video. The Old Man really loving the video with my coffee. Don't know about adding to my want list yet. ✈️🇺🇸😎💝
Bobby K great zooming, Pilot Ryan great flight, the Freewing Mig-29 looked fantastic, Pilot Ryan and Bobby K setting the Mig 29 bar really high, Jeff in LA USA
Nice flight PR. Haven’t flown mine yet. Can’t wait. I’m flying the Arrow 64 version tomorrow at Kickapoo Woods. I’ve shortened the mains and lengthen the front LG.
Amazingly Amazing! 😁 I just got notification via email that this beauty is available! Ordered my 1st Mig-29 after months of "out of stock" on motionRC ! Ooh boy I can't wait for the delivery truck so I can setup..mods.. weathering and my son and I can hit the Field! You guys are awesome and your content is on point🎯 Thanks
Great flight Ryan, just started getting mine together last night, however, will wait on new servos to maiden just to be safe, thanks for gettin it done👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Ryan, that was an amazing flight much less a maiden flight and that landing was perfect ! Great description of the setup and flight performance. Very nice job on the camerawork and video as always! BIG MiG-29 thumbs up! Beat regards!

OMG! I have watched this like 5 times already! Can't wait to get mine (hopefully next week)! Great flying and sweet landing! Thanks for the information, always very on point!
Amazing flight Ryan .it actually sound great for an inrunner . Still waiting for mine might take longer then expected but worth it. And even without gyro it felt really smooth out there.
Would love to see you guys start selling turbine setups . Motion has the BEST customer service I have seen in my 27 years in RC…. So thank you for that ! Maybe if motion got involved with turbines you could help bring the cost down so not just the sponsored or very well off could start to experience the sound, performance, and absolutely stunning sound of turbine jets. Thanks for all the great vids and piloting . Best regards.
Motion RC definitely redeemed themselves from that poorly designed F-18 90 mm which everyone was crashing due to the weak elevator linkage design. Motion RC is back on the map with this one. Awesome flight Ryan.
Nice. I totally destroyed my Arrows MIg 29 on its maiden today. Turning from long downwind to base...with the late afternoon sun, I couldn't tell if the plane was turning toward me properly and I tried to correct..stalled and crashed hard. Next plane I'm painting so I know which side I'm looking at.
Your wrong. JK Great video! I was going to maiden mine today but it is very windy this morning. I put my battery telmentry on the battery powering the bec.
Great flight my friend with perfect landing. Would love to have this baby someday in my hangar. Thanks for posting and big salute from Slovenia, Pilot Robert
All of a sudden I need one of those... and I’m sorry, that just doesn’t sound cool enough!! I know it’s you flying it, but that does look like a smooth ride! NICE!
Beautiful bird love to have one , I need a better runway and sharper skills, I have a hard time slowing the bigger birds down! I need good brakes! Short runways in Wv.
Great video I can relate to the scale of your flying field in relation to my other planes and my club field. The elevator servos in the spares section of the Motion r.c. website appear to be the same as the SU35 and many people already swapped those out, especially with the TV version. I am assuming the tail area and forces are already bigger than the SU35 and under much more load ( cant do the maths guys just looking at the visual size comparison ) so did someone miss a trick here? having said that it is an awesome Mig 29 and I am sure the maths worked out for normal flying but I just wouldnt be pushing it until the uprated servos arrive. I have an overcautious nature and I held off on the pre order and I think I will give it a few months to see if anything else emerges before deciding to buy or not, I have plenty of other Freewing jets to fly in the meantime.
great job Ryan! Like this one a lot,but want to see if the electronics hold up before getting one.Wanting a few edfs to add to my hangar,as I have catching up to do because of having that darn stroke this year, but will enjoy hitting the button as soon as decide on which to by.Which Futaba are you using, and how do you like it,I need a new transmitter,as sold my dx8 gen2 to my brother, because I wasn't flying this year yet, can't decide on looking for a nice dx20 gen 2 or a 12-14 channel Futaba ,thanks brother! great job on camera Bobby!
Great video/ plane/ flight! etc. should a voltage regulator be run instead of a BEC on a plane that expensive? so if the speed control goes then you still have control of the plane.
Sweeeet! I was looking forward to my maiden this weekend but I’ll probably hold off and take their advice. I’m sure in most cases that elevator servo would be fine but always better safe than sorry. Out of curiosity with your battery placement though what was your CG?
It’s Dexter from Alaska. Last night during the live stream, I asked about using the Eagle A3 Pro on the Freewing MiG-29. You gave a thumbs up. I am running into problem with the A3 Pro because it instructs you to set wing type to NORMAL. If I follow that rule, it disables the Flap System menu on the Spektrum radio. Only leaves me with ability to adjust travel endpoints in the Servo Travel menu for the Flap up and landing flap positions. I am left with no way to adjust the middle Takeoff flap position. Is there a work around? If I go with an alternate wing type, will it screw up the A3 Pro functionality?
Ryan. You still think for example 6s 5000s can be in the front and back compartments? A lot of people are saying use the middle...what you think? Thanks
I do, however you have to do what’s right for ya. I like my stuff just a touch in the noseheavy side. I think they feel better and behave more predictable
I received mine a few days ago. I'm not going to fly it before I get the replacement elevator servos. You tube is starting to show a number of disturbing crashes.
Ryan, what are your thoughts on extending the flaps and ailerons and cutting the wing tips to match like Yoda is suggesting to do? Not sure I want to do this. Really would like your thoughts on this mod sir. Thanks Pilot Ryan (OG)!
Which do you prefer the E-Flite SU 30 Or Freewing Mig 29? Is one truly a better plane than the other or is this a preference because they are so Similar
