But first, our technique! Love foundation paper piecing quilt patterns but hate pulling the paper off when you are done? By using freezer paper, you can complete all your favorite FPP quilt patterns without the need for removing tons of paper.

We LOVE foundation paper piecing quilts. There are so many patterns and designs you can do using this method that you just can't get any other way. We don't always love ripping the paper backing off though. That's why we love using freezer paper for foundation paper piecing quilt patterns.
Freezer paper has a shiny side that actually sticks to fabric when you iron it. This makes it possible to use in quilt patterns and FPP patterns. You can iron the freezer paper to the fabric and it holds it in place nicely while you sew. You can now sew along the folds instead of through the pattern without worrying about your fabric moving around. This is also a great method to use with large pieces that don't want to stay put or flat. Freezer paper is also easily accessible and relatively cheap, so it's easy to grab some to try this method for putting a quilt pattern together.

As a newbie there are a couple steps that might be clarified. When you say “print side up”, do you mean the print side should be facing the printed side of the paper? Does the second piece go print (or right side) facing the right side of the previous piece? 11:39

You want the back of the fabric touching the backside of the template, so you'll be able to see both the printed lines of the template and the printed side of the fabric as you sew them together. Does that help?
