Trust a dog’s instinct! My husband and I are full-time RVers in a fifth wheel. I LOVE your videos. So different than our experience. Shed reminds me of stops on the Appalachian Trail. I’d mainly be concerned with mice.

There are the same, shall we just call them shelters, in the state park where I live. Never have been brave enough and the spiders would have me awake all night!! Great adventure for you and precious Ellie! My dog has alerted us to bears camping in NY (also black bears), dogs always know! Ellie is a wonderful companion!! 🐾💙

I wouldn't call that structure a cabin. It's more like a glorified lean-to to me, but it did the job providing some shelter. Adding the tarp to the open side was a great idea! 👍

I don't know why that was so hair raising for me. I have tent camped in the Rockies knowing bears are around. A tent is nothing compared to a log when it comes to protective barriers. I guess as I am aging I am realizing how fragile we really are.

Nothing like enjoying the outdoors in the calm and peace of nature. Great job on setting up camp. It looked cozy, and Ellie fit right in. Love watching your relationship with her. She's a good swimmer. lol I was scared she was going to swim away! lol It's a relief that she's obedient. ( whew! ) I grew up with a cocker spaniel/collie . She was so loving as well. I will agree, there is nothing like that first cup of coffee cooked either on a fire or cooker outside! Especially on a chilly morning. Sadly I no longer am able to camp, but I will go out early in the morning and set up a tarp cover, bring out the Buddy heater, my chair and small set up table and make coffee, or hot chocolate, and do a small breakfast and watch the Sun rise. Almost like camping without the sleeping bag! This was a great video, and the pup sure looked happy and content.

Thanks for taking us along, my husband & I usually go to the Uintah Mountains camping while elk hunting. It just wasn't in the cards this year, and we both missed it alot. I enjoy watching your adventures along with Ellie. Thanks for sharing!! Blessings

Camping is not glamping it's roughing it. Love the candls, I couldn't see you doing it more than one or two days in that kind of cabin especially when the weather gets colder. Lucky you have Ellie for extra warm love the river that Ellie got to swimming for her last time

It was perfectly balanced showing your beautiful family the serenity of the out doors & course the icing on the cake is love of show casing the the great outdoors with ellie. I really would love to see you go there when it's warmer outside when a rain storm comes, that is if you ever do so. I really look forward to this winter when you do your loner videos in the A frame! This is why you have become my personal favorite on camping! You really have the ability to to make everyone feel they are experiencing it right along with you! I will definitely watch this video numerous times as I have repeatedly watched your A frame cabin videos.

Gosh Jack, a very different kind of camp out! Loved seeing Ellie relaxing whilst you made the stone fire ring! Your meal looked really yum and full of green goodness! That's a really ingenius growing system, and love that they source seeds from local non GMO strains-really cool! I can see Riley becoming a gardening goddess! The little lanterns you made are super! We're in Spring now here in NZ, and the weather remains quite unpredictable and wild at times. Yesterday, I pottered through our land's wooded area and gathered a good barrow load of fallen wood and pine cones to eke out our firewood. Made me feel useful and resourceful; I think watching your videos has made me more aware and appreciative of the way nature can provide all we need to get by, if we know where to look and how to use the gifts left for us! I think if you fancy camping out in those other survival cabins you should give it a go, we're always going to watch!
