@@cindyklemm6434 during “snowmageddon” in 2009/2010 there was a lot of talk that there was basically one working set of snow equipment / salt trucks / snow plows, etc. and that essentially all of the counties had to ‘share’ [eye roll]
Notice that guy in the pickup that did a 360, had his foot on the brake. Don't touch the brake in icy conditions. This will happen every time. Notice also the other drivers who drove the same path did not encounter this joy ride. Why? Because their foot was not on the brake. Why did this guy put his foot on the brake? Probably because he was driving too fast and came upon the car in front of him too quickly and reflex made him hit the brake. Slow down and you will have time to react in case of the unexpected.
If they're paying to run the toll why wasn't the tollway treated if any road should have been treated well it should have been the toll road they're being paid

Not just Fort Worth. No, no, no! There have been wrecks all across North and Central Texas. There have been accidents on I-35 and I-14 to include accidents in West Fort Hood and surrounding areas! If your don't need to go anywhere, don't it's most likely not worth the time and effort. Conditions out there are just going to get worse with this polar vortex so please, be careful and safe!
These are sadly the adverse effects of global warming not talked about as much. Climate changes and people aren’t used to driving in these conditions, of course someone in northeast would know better but maybe not in a place like Texas.. I live in la and stay inside when it rains people do not know how to drive and you always see accidents bc of it.
I dont care where you are from. Noone can drive on ice. PERIOD! AND, this has nothing to do with global warming. Nothingthat happenshas anything to do with global warming ... We get ice at least once a year since records have been kept. Do ur homework. This ice came earlier than expected on new elevated freeway without sand,salt or gravel. So save ur bs back seat driving ignorance for the idiots that believe ur bs.
I am praying for all the victims and families. I live about several minutes from where this accident happened and I'm waiting to hear from my friends that are usually out in that hour of the morning to make sure they're okay. I don't know what caused the accident and I'm not saying that it was driving too fast on the road but me personally I always see people driving a little too fast I'm not saying that's what caused this but please drive very slow when the roads are hazardous
I don't know why the Texas governor order authorities to put salt at least on the highway. Texas is not a snow/Ice state, this kind of situation happened may be once or two times after 5 to 10 years. Texas is not a poor state they have some money allocated for these kinds of situations. It's the same for them.
Were you there? Have you tried to break on ice going 50mph+? Cause you dont fucking stop like you want to. Its a highway, you hit one tiny patch of ice and its over. Even going under the speed limit. You dont know how fast they are going, a car going 45 mph seems very fast to someone standing still.

@@puromichoacan8339 ALSO! This was an early ice and very unexpected there is a polar freeze spreading across the country, dont know how bad it will be in each individual area. Obviously if they had known there was an early ice this possibly could of been avoided, or maybe its just natures way of keeping us humble.
Just a question, that is it I'm just curious to what the answers would be. If vehicles are going 30 miles an hour or less because of icy conditions, how does this pile up happen.? I'm just not understanding how this could happen if everybody's going less than 30 miles an hour because of ice.
That was the south bound Express (HOV) lanes and it was very icy and Texans can't drive on ice we don't see it but 2 or 3 times a year and usually no one goes to work. Bye the way concrete walls are NOT removable.

Austin is featured later in the video. The description of the video also states that the wrecks are from Austin to Forth Worth. The title even states that the weather is causing accidents across Texas... how is it misleading lol

I did not read the description of the video. Perhaps title it north Texas or Texas winter weather. Austin area is local connotation.
