Freiburg, Germany is one of the best cities to visit in Germany, hidden in the southwest part of the country Freiburg is the most sunny city in Germany. You have incredible people, beautiful black forest hikes, and the munster is a great place to visit. Also, be careful you don't fall into a bachle as that water on the side of the road could mean you might be marrying someone from Freiburg in your future.

Freiburg has also another big park that isn't in the city center called Seepark. It's a nice park around a lake offering recreational activities for all ages, with its swimming lake, restaurants, playgrounds and miniature golf.

Being a university city, it is super easy to navigate for English speakers. The buses and trams are convenient too

Freiburg is AMAZING! I went while visiting friends from nearby little Gundelfingen and we loved it! Also, we were informed of a local legend which states that if you fall in one of those waterways you mentioned, you will marry a girl from Frieburg. 😁 Oh... and I also bought the Frieburg soccer jersey as well. 😎

I studied here in 2019. It was such a beautiful city. It’s very close to Colmar and Triberg which has the world’s largest cuckoo clock and beautiful waterfalls

Thank you for this video! I’m going to Freiburg (and a bunch of other cities in Germany) in a few weeks. It’s my first international holiday in nearly 10 years so I’ve been pretty nervous about it but your videos have helped me prepare and feel a bit more confident 😊.

I live in Freiburg and I can only say that you are so right. Freiburg is beautiful. But you forgot to mention something. Because of the whole thing that so many universities are here there are actually a lot of cool things. For example: when you are under the age of 25 you can go into the museums owned by the city for free. Which is great. So maybe a tip for your next trip? Museums are free for people under the age of 25.

Hi Mark, as a German from Düsseldorf, who has lived in Koeln, Hamburg, Berlin, Munich and Stuttgart, I went to Quedlinburg / Sachsen Anhalt for the first time in my life because of your video. It is really beautiful and the people are so much more direct and friendly than in western Germany. Just the food was horrible all over, you cannot find a good steak or a good Italian, it’s best to stick to Greek / Chinese restaurants 😀

Freiburg is twin city with my now town Besançon. I'm originally from Belfort and Freiburg was the nearest German town to us.

I worked there in summer 1992 - I loved it. Both the city and the nearby nature and small towns/villages.

Splendid overview of a very charming town I heretofore hadn't looked into...now it's added to our list, which has become VERY long (think we'll have to become expats for awhile) in large part due to your outstanding videos! Thanks Mark (& Jocelyn)...you've enriched our upcoming travels in so many helpful ways!!

I went to Freiburg in 2018, to the Christmas market, I'm returning this December, with my sister, who is treating me for my 60th Birthday, to visit the Christmas market again. It is a wonderful place to visit.

Great insights on Freiburg! Visiting lesser-known gems like this adds a unique touch to travel experiences. The local vibe, architecture, and outdoor activities make it a hidden treasure. Thanks for sharing your valuable tips and don'ts!

Lovely video about my birthplace (next to the Dreisam. no less), I used to busk on the streets of Freiburg and the crowds were brilliant. I've been in England for the past 26 years, but my family still lives south of Freiburg in the Black Forest. Coming back there is always a treat and it changes all the time, too!

I just found your channel and subscribed. This video in particular caught my attention. My German ancestors were from this part of Germany, and seeing the city where some of them lived and most likely visited during their lives was awesome. If I ever make it to Germany, this will be the first place I go.
