Who knew this beautiful florist would blossom into an amazing chef. You surprise me every dinner at what you have produced for the guests. Bravo Marie.
Hi Stephanie, lovely video. John James Audubon was actually born in Haiti in 1785 at the time when Haiti was Saint-Domingue, a French colony. Haiti was the wealthiest colony of the French Empire. He actually arrived in the United States with a false passport to avoid being taken to the Napoleonic War
So sad to see dear Davy go. He has contributed so much and is absolutely charming. Hope he comes back again soon. Wonderful things picked up along the way. Well done.
💖👑👑💖🎬📽🎥l havent been around for a while .l just have to say how proud l am of Stephanie and Philip for the work thay are doing in the chapel. I am amazed what has been done XX💖😊💖XX👏🏼👏🏻👏🏼👏🏻👏🏼👏🏻👏🏼
...very 'South-of-France', like a stroll along the beach. Stephanie is like a sparkling summer day, breezy & light. I think that's why we all adore her! 🌻☀🌞
Yay! I love watching every night! You're my favorite channel! And I lOVE when you shop at the brocante. In the USA we call them thrift stores. I started a thrifting group with all my friends, and we have a private Facebook group. Once a month, we go out to breakfast or lunch and visit several thrift shops together! I love orchestrating it all. When we get home, we all post photos of our treasures in our Facebook group (we don't always see what each other is buying, because there's usually around 10 of us). We have so much fun!
I want to be part of that group !!! Just kidding. I have health issues and I have decided to stay in the house must of the time. I have someone that brings me flowers and plants once in a while, and I prepare Kokedamas, bonsáis and beautiful flower arrangements to keep my mind busy. There is nothing that I enjoy more than buying rustic and beautiful things for the dining table and kitchen !! Regards from Miami .
Stephanie did make a simple but lovely white apron for Marie I believe ...with either an 'M" embroidered on it ...or was it the Peacock logo for LaLande (?) ...anyway it looked very official & Chief Chef-like ...just missing a Chef's hat ...but haven't seen it since.
@@Twistnsine Yes, that was her name! Thank you so much, you know even at my current age I almost want to recollect all of my favorites just to have them. I feel like such a hoarder saying that though, lol!
@@deanyaschempp lovely idea, but I can assure you having managed small luxury inns, extra activities like teas, small weddings, extras at meals in the inn, are very hard to put on the kitchen who makes three meals every day, and the guests who have paid well to have access to all of the chateau will not appreciate sharing the space….all extra activities were added only for fully paying guests….that chapel is going to attract a lot of curiosity though!
🦋 Stephanie the Barbie was Peaches N Cream I had her too. 1984/85 ish. Gosh I loved that doll and her dress. 🦋 Speaking of dresses you looked beautiful in your hat and summer dress. Perfect for a day out. 🤗🦋
Me too! She and Crystal Barbie were among my most prized possessions. I always coveted after my cousin's Dream Glow Barbie, but never actually got one of my own. Simpler times.
Re: tray liners: probably you already know the trick of swiping a very minimal film of water to the tray under the liner, for further protection against slipping? Works like a charm.
What a wonderful summery day out! Love the interaction between you all. And Stephanie, you looked stunning in your straw hat and also in your dinner outfit. Ooh La La! Belle Cher!❤️❤️
I fell over with laughter when Phillip made it rain money !!!!!! Thank you for the laughter !! It has been a terrible day for me and I really needed that ! As always ,Love to all y'all ❤❤❤❤
I absolutely adore the colors on your bed, the mix of pinks with the red is quite calming.Mummy looks like she’s 20 years younger. Life and Percy are agreeing with her. The hat is wonderful as I said earlier. You look younger than a few years ago.. Must be your younger love of your life..My friends that married men half their age say it definitely has kept them from aging.
So nice to see Marie deep frying the zucchini flowers. I tried my hand at that once using a tempura batter. It's amazing how the flavor of the zucchini comes through. Another great dinner, Marie!
Thank you for taking us to the brocante, you all looked so lovely in your hats! The church you took us to where the chapel restorers we’re working was beautiful, I gasped when the little alcove restored in the blue pattern appeared, absolutely exquisite. To think of the details and the artist vision… is mind blowing. Philip I so appreciate your love of beautiful and yet functional things. My mother would put into my lunch box a tea towel so that when I ate my lunch in school I could have it to lay upon my desk. It was pink and white check with ivy leaves and the most beautiful little tea pot in the center. It really made me smile when I saw it and made me think of home as I was not fond of school I would have rather been home playing in the garden with my dog!
My mother gave me a couple of 'tea cloths' that look like table cloths but are much finer and lighter as they were made to cover the laid table to protect it until everyone sat down. When I was a student of 18 I saw a gorgeous white on white tablecloth in the window of a junk shop that was shut so I found a piece or paper, scribbled on it 'please keep the table cloth for me' and after wrapping a few coins in it I posted it through the letter box and went back two days later to get it. It is heavily embroidered with thistles (I'm Scottish) and has a deep lace edge. I've never actually used it but still have it.
I am so lost on Saturday nights without the LaLanders!! Marie, your meals are quite simply ‘art forms’ on a plate? My late Mother always used tray liners which belonged to her Mother and beautifully embroidered. When I carry my 4 glasses of water etc up to bed the glasses slide all over so I am determined to find some myself!! Philip has sublime taste! I love your dress Stephanie. I think your Mother/Mummy is so beautiful and delightful and Percy tries very hard!!! The Brocantes have so much I’d love to buy especially the pretty blue tea set? It’s good to see you have a full house with your lovely guests. Hope Davy returns soon!! Is the elusive Nick with his lovely family? This has made me very happy as always. And now I must go to bed, it’s very late here in Devon, UK and I’m naughty because I should be able to wait until morning…. 😏 but I can’t!!!!! 😳😅😅☀️💐🍦🍦🙅♀️🙅♀️🥰 All of the vlogs are just super.
Phillip finds tray liners & Stephanie thinks of ALLLLL the lovely foods she can nibble on....and whiskey soda to boot. 😂🎉 Of ALL the treasures Phillip has brought home, that was my favorite exchange. ❤
Not likely, Nick is older - probably late 40's, as Stephanie gave us a peek recently of an old photo of him. The young man did give an interesting stare though. Lol
Lovely Brocanting, wow! Philip always gets great bargains. Another amazing meal by Maree love the fact she uses alo5 of fresh produce from the garden ❤
Gosh that restoration is gorgeous!! Tray liners are a life saver. I use them. I have almost as many linens for the table as Philip does. A napkin goes in the slit of the placemat! The meal looks fabulous, Marie❤️
Not sure if Stephanie and Phillips bantering over breakfast in bed or Marie’s sweat talking or sweet mommy and Percy is my favorite. So much joy you bring…
Those little handled casseroles are great for reheating a serving of leftovers, like risotto, or for baking an egg as you suggested. I bake mine with a bit of ham and cheese
Lovely to see the statue of St Jean Marie Vianney in the pulpit for his feast day of 4th August. He was famous for his sermons as parish priest of Ars, near Lyon.
The tray cloth, that has the slit is known as cut work. The probably used a buttonhole or blanket stitch in two rows leaving a space between them in order to cut the design. I too love embroidery and it is being lost these days as young people are not interested in learning the needlecrafts. I have some of my mother's and my grandmothers work, which would make the pieces over 60+ yrs old, as I am 72. All the tray cloths are beautiful but I particularly like the blue flowered one with the cut work.
❤🧡💛💚💙💜💛💙🧡💚❤ all the colours of family and guests within the incredible tableau that is La Lande. [ no one lays the table like Philip....no one prepares the feasts like Marie ... And no one brings out the hearts of people like the Lady Stephanie.] 👏👏👏 XXX
