Also known as a French Dot or Knotted Stitch, this is a stitch quite similar to the Colonial Knot. It is very effective if different fibres or silk ribbon are used. You have the option to wrap the fiber around the needle one to 3 or more times depending upon the desired effect. Of course the more wraps the bigger and looser the knot! It is great for flower centers, periods at the end of a sentence, or if stitched close together, for hair, flower bunches etc. Thea has used this stitch in her “Child of Spring Sampler” wreath.
