they should have given these in 2008 to the Mali government after training 24 pilots and 200 ground support in two years.I posted that and people laughed,few years later Al Quida showed up in force in the Maghreb.
I've been diving deep into DCS lately, and snagged both the Mirage F1 and M-2000-talk about exhilarating flights! VR takes it to a whole new level; it's like being in the cockpit for real. By the way, does anyone know the name of the background track playing during these missions? It's adding such an epic vibe to the whole experience!
I know this is the most delayed comment in the world, but the trick to beating the Viper is to force the fight slow. The Viper turns great at high speed but not very well at low speed. So you want to use nose-to-nose geometry, where the guy who goes slowest and turns in the tightest radius (which probably won't be him) will win. Be cautious not to lose all your speed right away while he's still fast, or else he can use his speed to go vertical where you can't follow and come back down on you. Also I should say, the Mirage F.1 probably won't win a fast OR a slow fight against the Viper, so if that's your equipment then you'd want to avoid a dogfight altogether and do a Vietnam-style hidden hit-and-run if you can. But if you're in something reasonably modern like any of the Viper's contemporaries (F-15, F-18, Mirage 2000, MiG-29, etc) then the slow radius fight is your ticket in the merge.
The only moment when a mirage F1 can beat a F-16 was in the late 70th and early 80th. Thé mirage was at it’s golden âgé with last variant of it’s Cyrano 4 radar and super 530F médium range missiles while the early F-16 where limites to sidewinders ans have a pour radar

Just 3 F-1B trainers and 12 F-1C's single seat fighters with the right ordonnance and 6 recon-pods could have stopped those ff-ers.Free of charge of course,would have gathered support for the government and they have the range to assist in for example Niger or Chad.I'll be shot in the head before I make foreign military assistance policies I gather.Cracking good jet though,real ff-ng monster.
