One of my goals has been to at least try and and ride the MegaAvalanche trail, even if it was not as part of the event. Last time we were in this resort, we were able to head to the very top, and we could have attempted this, however both Sam and Jake who we were with at the time decided against the idea. From that point I have made it my mission to try.
On a day Sam felt unwell, myself and Joe headed up towards the top, but the last lift 'Pic Blanc' which takes you the final stretch to the top was closed the bike riders. I did ask the reason for this but could not get a clear understanding sadly. So we headed down from the point we got to, and just enjoyed the day with segments of the famous downhill trail.
