This is such a funny and accurate interpretation of Monarch of the Glen. And nice to see Alastair Mackenzie play his actual role of Archie in this. And the spoof of Duncan is quality. "Sorry...sorry...sorry" *does a cartwheel*. 😂

I never watched Monarch Of The Glen (can't bear gentle Sunday evening telly drama) and still found it funny. The "can anybody see my feet" is bizarre and hilarious!!
I saw it here in Australia after the series ended and really loved it many. many ways. It had comedic elements too. But this is so funny I can’t believe it. Archie is still glum but gorgeous as ever. Alistair McKenzie served up for French and Saunders. Hilarious 😂
Very funny and spot on parody of MOTG. It's even funnier that Alastair MacKenzie starred in it to impersonate his "Monarch" character Archie MacDonald. Portrayals of Molly, Lexie, and Duncan were spot on as well. My only complaint is that there's no Golly in it. A well done parody from the same crew that gave us "Uptown Downstairs Abbey" a few years back.
Monarch of the Glen eventually devolved into a frustratingly repetitive soap opera. But the early days, particularly when Richard Briers was still on, were fantastic.
Excellent parody of my favourite show! Jennifer played Molly so well! Alistair Mackenzie was so good to play himself - I'm sure there were a few out-takes on this story!!
Watching this has made me nostalgic to watch Monarch of the Glen again...even though Dawn was right. Archie was rather pessimistic every week, wasn't he? ☺️

I've never seen 'The Monarch of the glen', but somehow this is still hilarious. Despite not being familiar with the original, I can still vividly imagine what that must be like: perhaps that is what actually makes a parody good or not. Nothing beats these two.
Amazing how a nose prosthetic can change Dawn French’s ‘look’ so dramatically. So good that Alastair McKenzie agreed to do this because I always thought he was so serious and brooding throughout the run or the show. I used to watch it when living in Australia 2003/2004, would have been on the ABC or possibly SBS.
I saw this when it was aired on a christmas special, soooooooo funny. Jennifer Saunders really had Molly's character spot on haha........Don't kiss me, poor Lexie haha
I will never ever see anything talented in Jennifer Saunders.. Can't stand her and this is nothing like Monarch Of The Glen. Just because you can take the you-know-what out of someone who is a well regarded actress doesn't make you anything. Hated Ab Fab too
omg i used to love monarch of the glen and archie! it was rubbish when him and hector left. duncan and gilly were good too. saunders played molly really well!

The talent of Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders is outstanding. Their impersonations of Molly and Lexie are eerily spot on, I couldn't stop laughing! Btw Dawn, please stop spouting your woke politics, it detracts from your talent. Same to Joanna Lumley, although I realise she's not in this sketch. ❤❤❤❤
I have watched a couple of these French-Saunders comedy...thingees and even before I see their names and watch the videos the titles start me laughing. Something that I have noticed about British comedians: as singles, they are quite good, but as pairs or groups (Monty Python, The Goodies for instance) they are outstandingly funny.
Hi there this was so funny I never watched this when it was on tv as I never used to watch monarch of the glen much only at my mums I watched monarch as she and dad love to watch it .when monarch first came on tv on Sunday nites .I mean my faves ar gorgeous archie and lexie and dungan but I like others to in monarch great show .iv got monarch of the glen on boxset to got them for my 50 th birthday treated myself to them watch it when I wont to then .
