I haven't watched much since N4C but the level of play seems to have improved a lot since the tournament, with how constant the raids are. Fresh food stuffs is amazing. The Abbasid made 3 TCs while under 1 TC French feudal pressure and still got to castle age first while massing horsemen for counter raids.
How could he have workers prepared before the approach of enemy calvory? By checking the mini map timely? I always find my workers under attack after hearing the war alarm (rookie to this game)
This takes a ton of skill (practice + multitasking + quick reaction). At the highest of levels, people can predict attack points based off limited vision and keep an eye on pulling villagers the moment they see something on the mini-map. A typical tactic is to put your scout (or a tower if you want to more safe) near the predicted attack point giving you significantly more time to react (and at their level they can often react within a fraction of a second). It is the reason why multiple raids become more effect since it becomes more APM intensive and while the player becomes busy evacuating one area, the other area may become more neglected. In the beginning of the game, you have way less infrastructure and units (so you can micromanage way better). I find insight into these "strategies" from Starcraft 1 casting (tastosis) as they explain the mindset behind the players since its such an old game. Ways to predict: Based on opponent Civ and opening build order, what are they most likely going to try to deny you (thus attack) based off defense locations. Then where will it come from? If you were just recently raided and the horses leave, which direction did they leave from since they most likely come from that direction again if the raid will occur again, etc.
So I’m a aoe4 player and this video had me checking out sc2 for a bit and honestly it looks a lotmore diverse and interactive than aoe4.. anyone can answer how/why aoe4 is better? Amazing play by beasty this game btw.
sc2 is out for more than 10 years and people want to play something new. I also quit sc2 a few years ago because of how micro intensive the game is. If you are curious you can check out Beasty's video explaining why he switched from sc2 to aoe4, he has some personal reasons mixed in but I think most people feel the same as him gameplay wise
Yeah French vs the Abassid Caliphate is so one sided! You guys all saw Beasty beat Marinelord right? Poor Marinelords Abassid never stood a chance 😢 Happy April Fools!
Why didn't you go for spears in feudal? I always see pro players produce just 2 types of units in early game, I assume it's the best options but I don't understand why. Can someone explain it to me?
