The buccal ties were placing tension on my gums that were contributing to gum recession. They can also have an impact on your overall facial tension (upper lip, for instance).
Hey I’m going through this and getting mine released end of this month as well on top of it getting my jaw fixed. Usually when you have a tongue tie it pushes your jaw back so the pain you still feel could be the tmj. All my pain is coming from that joint and turns out the reason I have it is from the tongue tie. So release the tie and move the jaw forward and that should be the end of all my pain and maybe yours too?
Yup listened more to your video yes the migraines are from that joint as well. So find a dentist who can treat the jaw and move it where it needs to be. Also teeth grinding is also because of that joint. Start with a sleep apnea test and find a tmj dentist.
How long until after the release you saw you your range of motion starting to increase? I just got mine done with Dr Dy 2 weeks ago and I feel like my range of motion is still the same as before my release!
It's a little hard to say because of the healing process. It was immediately much greater (right after the procedure), but decreased again as the wound started to heal and contract. I don't really remember exactly what it felt like at the time, but I think I could notice a difference more in comparing photos/videos than I could just from my own senses. Are you working with a myofunctional therapist? What did Dr. Dy say about your range of motion?
@@CelesteM I saw her a couple days ago for my 2 week follow up and mentioned how I feel like my range of motion is still the same and kinda feels maybe even more restricted but she said it’s normal to feel wound constriction still. Yes I see a myo therapist I just couldn’t see her right away. Got my release done almost 3 weeks ago and can’t see her until first week of October!
Hi! I got a lingual frenectomy in nov, 9 months ago now, with scissors, not a laser sadly. and I feel like I'm still healing, I get a blood blister near my frenulum often. I was wondering if you had any of that at all?
@@CelesteM I've tried to call and they never get back to me :/ I will be trying to talk to my regular ortho and/or dentist to see if they can answer. Thank you for getting back!
It regrows but (ideally) in a non-restrictive way. In some cases, usually where the surgery was not done by someone skilled enough, or when the person didn't do proper care afterward, it can reattach and is restrictive. That's why it's so important to work with a provider who really knows what they're doing, and a myofunctional therapist to help you through the pre-op and post-op exercises necessary to ensure proper function.
