Yeah! I got into Magic with the original Kamigawa. My dad bought me a champions of Kamigawa tournament deck at a state fair lol. Loved it. Now I’m so excited to get this set. I was originally worried it was gonna be weak sauce steam punk strap on Kamigawa. Boy was I wrong! Looks siick!
I can’t get enough of the art man wizards nailed it on the art. Especially the foils they really pop. Sweet opening can’t wait to see what’s inside the rest of that case.
This is some of the best art that has been used in magic ever. I will always love my Personal Incantation, Vesuvan Doppleganger and Force of Nature from Revised/4th edition. I bought a completely separate binder to put all cards in.
Mtg goldfish does the type of card sorting by types and price you are interested in, but since this is such a new set the pricing hasn't been astablished for a lot of the cards. Especially the special treatment rare ones.
I'm enjoying this set. According to current prices my first collector box had approximately $500 in value and i paid $220 after taxes. Now my LGS is sold out of collector boxes for the time being and the price went up $20. I still really want to open more packs from this set for sure.
So far pulled 2 Progress standard art, one foil one non and a wanderer. That was from a set booster box I bought at pre-release. Than mid week snagged 3 pre-release kits left over. 1st two where a bit lack luster. Last one had a foil Tamiyo with the phyrexion treatment. 2 kaitos, one showcase one standard neither foil. I was like man that would have made someone's draft day lol. Instead it just made my regular day.
I want to get an Eater of Virtue or two, a complete set of vehicles, The Emperor, and Kaito. A Compleated Tamiyo and a Progress Tyrant would be good, too.
I'm getting my packs today and I hope to pull something worth my while. I don't care what it is but as long as I get at least *some* value back. For 4 packs of set boosters, I paid 18 euros. Getting even 14 euros back would be cool. But the Kodama of west tree is something I'd like...
I've got a pre-order that hasn't arrived yet, so I figured I'd watch a box opening or two for vicarious hype. There are lots of box opening videos on RU-vid, but the continuous free-associating stream-of-consciousness in this seems totally unique.
Set has some great enchantments and atifacts. However with the banning of Invoke Despair this set cant keep up with the power creep of tokens in later sets. Artwork still worth collecting however
I guess I'm not of the popular crowd. I got 2 collector boxes and a set booster box and I've never been more disappointed with an expansion. The cards are weak. Nothing was captivating to pull. The best part of the expansion is the land. I ended up spending my money on Ikoria, strixhaven and beyond death collector packs. 1 Ikoria collector box blew away 2 kamigawa boxes. I wish it was the other way around too. I watch these videos to see if I missed something and got unlucky with 54 packs but...these look like my openings.
I was gonna ask, what's everyone building from this set in Commander? I feel this set has got so much stuff to build off of without it being too forced-by-design like the two previous Innistrad sets were built. (I like myself some symmetry in Magic set design but it felt a bit too cookie cutter) I feel the legendaries and potential staples in this set truly shine. Been thinking of doing some jank with Kyodai; not quite the format breaker in WUBRG colors, but I see the potential fun in it.
I really think tatsanaru, toad rider (forgive My spelling) is really interesting design space. Enchantress style without a dominant enchantment color is cool. Also frogs. I really hope to open a yoshimaru, ever faithful because I'm brewing a legendary tribal deck. I think I'm most excited for going yuriko so much deserved upgrades :)
@@connorbell5340 duuuude, I'm hoping to get Yoshimaru as well if I can crack him from the collector box I picked up. If not, at least the singles are not terribly expensive and can go down in price weeks after release 🐶
@snowflake3114 same here I opened a bundle today with my girlfriend and got Go shintai, of life's origin and my friend really wanted that so I'll be very happy to give him that!
Is it normal to get an older card from newer packs??I opened a kamigawa neon set booster and at the back was a 10th editon doubling cube...is that a thing or a fluke??
I got my 2 cases today! First pack I got Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant (Foil Etched) and The Wandering Emperor(non foil). And, may I just say.... opening the packs were pain in the ass.
15 "Mirrors" in Myojin of Cryptic Dreams 4 Mirrors Fable of the Mirror-Breaker 10 with Mirror Box Alt art's included in the count. Glass Surfaces not counted as mirrors. I get 29 Mirrors in all Joey! I suspect 12 dollars for the Base form of Mr Enduring.

I got absolutely hosed on my collector display. Way under value even for release day prices. I got none of the best 8 pulls (my most expensive pull was foil extended Nashi) and no foil etched. I didn't even get the cards I wanted for my commander decks. Total of 6 Mythics. Yikes
the fall of konda = subliminal for the fall of e-honda. u kno how papa hasbro feels about his particular kind of diamond hands... i.e. "keep these great cards away from me."
