This is the first set in a long time I didn’t care about the value. There are so many cards I wanted in commons and uncommons to build commander, pioneer, modern AND standard decks around. WotC actually knocked this set out of the park.

God the art of this set is so stunning. Even just the commons and uncommons are beautiful

Imagine if they sold land stations with the Kamigawa lands. That'd be nice. The cards aren't only neat for playing; they also look great! I'd buy one, if only WotC were willing to sell me a box.

That Umezawa's Jitte the list pull was awesome 😮

I love how at (2:51) we see a $4 Mechtitan token and it doesn't get added in. Because, like... there are *tokens* worth $2+. I mean, the Shrine Enchantment Creature token is almost *$20* as I'm posting this

I know it would be very expensive but have you ever thought of doing a booster box game comparison between the different box types? It could be interesting seeing how far you can go when it comes to set box vs draft box or set box vs collector booster boxes

It’s very refreshing to get a standard set booster box game where I am astonished by both the value and the art (that foil alt art wanderer had my eyes wide and jaw dropped!). Such a great video!

Neon Dynasty was the first set box I've purchased, and the second box I've ever purchased. I very much feel like I got my moneys worth, and even got a Sapphire Medallion off the list. Edit: Also, I love the huge fanfare for the $20, but absolutely nothing special for the $120 XD

I loved my box. I got a Phyrexian Jin-Gitaxias, a foil showcase Tamiyo, and the WUBRG shrine commander. This was also the first time I ever did a prerelease event and I had a blast

Those full art lands are disgustingly amazing. I need a full play set now!

Love seeing the absurd variation in results from this game, where some sets you get jack and some, like this, you pull a single card that pays for an entire box. The power of doing this for every set for you know how many years now.

Single best set for artwork I've seen since getting back into it last year. Also a fan of the equipment/ vehicle/ enchantment themes getting some love.

I really like this Set (probably my favorite set since theros beyond death)! The art and mechanics in this set are so unique and really set it apart from other sets, while still being recognizable as "magic: the gathering" cards (which i feared wouldn't be the case when they said "expect neon space ninjas!") and from a power-level perspective it is also not bad. I think they did a good job with this one :)

After a couple of week, I can confidently say Neon Kamigawa is my favorite set wotc has released in an extremely long time. I adored Ikoria and Kaldheim but Neon Kamigawa is like the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced since Khans of Tarkir and Dominaria to a lesser extent.

I was listening to this in the background while working and when you pulled the Jitte, it scared the hell out of me. My body wasn't ready for that reaction

As far as the Kamigawa full art basics they may be the best full art basics they've printed in a LONG time. The art is just too nice for words.

I opened a box yesterday. It had 11 mythics incl. Jin, Tamiyo it also had a Boseiju borderless, the rest of the channel lands and a Snapcaster Mage from the list. The best part is that the set's art and flavor is crazy good as well.

Man what an amazing set. Very fun to play with amazing art, feel, lore AND flavor. Hopefully we dont have to wait 18 years for its return.

Love that you do these videos! I get to see the entertainment of opening packs and chasing money without having to waste a cent. Then I go buy the singles I need with the money saved 😁

I just came back to this hobby with the help of my buddies in college, and seeing those glorious japanese-themed cards just made me wanna collect the whole betrayer/neon Kamigawa cards, particularly the Samurai/Ninja ones

This seems like a really fun set, and Im happy to see that there arent a huge number of must play super expensive cards. Might just get back into stabdard when I find the time.

Finally a standard set that is worth not only opening but playing. The set just looks great artistically and has decent value. Hadn’t had this feeling since Eldraine (except Eldraine was horrendously overpowered).

God, that first list card you pulled being only worth a penny really does go a long way to pointing to my issue with the list. I love the concept, I think it's a great idea, why does it have worthless cards that aren't even thematic on it? Why do I have 3 list copies of Orzova, church of deals? Why are you opening Stone Haven Pilgrim in a set booster of Kamigawa? Like I get rare/needed reprints if they're off theme, and I get cheap cards if they're somewhat thematic to the set (I'm not upset about pulling a treacherous werewolf in a Crimson Vow set booster even though it's bad and worthless because at least it feels fitting), but cheap cards that aren't related to anything boggle my mind.

That Wandering Emperor was BEAUTIFUL. Amazing hit there, Prof! I absolutely love the art in this set. And overall, it's been a good draft set too. I think the channel lands (at least a few) are going to be staples for a long while.

With one of my set boosters I opened, there was a signed art card in every pack! Definitely not as cool as opening a list card in every pack of two japanese strixhaven set boosters, but still weird and interesting! I love all the cards in this set. Limited is fun. The commander cards are fun. So many awesome cards and treatments - definitely my favorite set in many years!

I'm not sure how often this is discussed but I really enjoy listening to the background music while he cracks the packs.

Great video Prof, I actually love more the collecting part then getting value from the cards when opening. So as a bit of extra fun with your Booster box games I have started tracking to see how close you get to opening a whole set. You were close too, you got all but 5 cards opened. For anyone interested the cards not opened were: Blade of the Oni Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant Kura, the Boundless Sky The Kami War Basic Island(natural)

Had some awesome list pulls from this set. Most notable....Vampiric Tutor!!!! Blew my mind to see.

Love the video! Wow the rare prices have TANKED since editing, lots of the 2-4 dollar cards listed are selling for under 50 cents now. Crazy how quickly the economy shifts. Shigeki for example is listed here for $7+ and is now sold for under 20 cents

Your Aura Shards, Thousand-Year Elixir and Graveborn Muse list pulls were also pretty sweet. WAY better than LOTS of other list pulls.

I think a large part of why the Booster Box Game is such a popular viewing experience is that it helps bring comforts to us plebs who can't afford to buy boxes and crack packs to see that even though we desire this, it helps remind us that it's not worth it anyway. = ) thanks professor

It's amazing to me that you can get such an incredibly vibrant and colorful set (esp. the alternate art) right on the heels of Double Feature and the frankly dull alternate art from both Crimson Vow/Midnight Hunt and Forgotten Realms. Maybe monotone or dirt brown are just that, and not inspired art direction?

Man, these Japanese alternate arts are Awsome AF, really wanna open up some packs for this and I always love Kamigawa as my fave plane. Really glad we get to revisit this plane once more. Would be AWESOME if they made a pack full of alternate art... and would wanna get a booster box in Japanese in the future

For some reason I'm enjoying foils from this set more than other recent ones, especially at the lower rarities. Not sure if anything has changed or it's just art direction. I was able to get a foil alt Sunblade Samurai and am now trying to cut something to force it in an Exalted Isshin deck I'm brewing. This set has gotten me pretty excited. It's the first prerelease and then draft I've gone to on purpose in quite a long time. I've even bought some packs on top of winnings and take home. I also feel that I've gotten pretty lucky. I was able to open every planeswalker and one of each of all but the black channel lands. Plus the red one in foil. Many of my prerelease rares are misprints as well with way bolder text and slightly blurrier pictures than normal. I'm hoping others have been happy with their experiences whether it's been boosters or singles. I know they can't always hit homeruns with sets, but I hope Neon Dynasty is remembered fondly.

dude, the Umezawa's Jitte pull scared the shit out of me lol. I'm sitting here typing an email, listening to the somber quite music you have as you crack packs. The occasional "ding" prompts me to look over and see what you pulled. then out of NO WHERE I have to check my shorts.

I also pulled an Umezawa's Jitte out of a pack from a Set Booster box, which also happened to be the same pack as Kaito. Both were eclipsed by the Vampiric Tutor I pulled in that same box. Sometimes The List really delivers.
