I made this cake 3 days ago, had the last slice today and it was as soft and delicious as day one ! I didn't have a tall cake tin so just split it between 2 small ones, and it did not disappoint. Greetings John from Tasmania again! With so many squillions of subscribers now you've probably forgotten me. That sponge is a triumph. In Australia we don't add the milk and oil, perhaps just a dribble of boiling water, and sometimes to make it even lighter we use part maize corn flour. But your trick with the emulsified milk and oil is worth trying oyt. Congratulations! Your hard work, meticulous instructions and lovely personality have made you many friends, and you deserve the success. I love your new oven! But guess what ... I am still hanging out for more of your most excellent cheese making videos!

Sorry John I just had to comment again. Today is my car's birthday (19 years old) I have just made this cake for the grandkids to come to my cars party. We are just off to the beach with the cake and all three of the grandkids in the old car, Thanks again the cake turned out beautiful. :-).
