For those of you who think this is easy peezy, do what I do. I do all my rowing that is 3 days a week I do it after my weight training the other 3 days I do a much more intense row. My workouts with the rowing added are simply phenomenal! I'm a 59-year-old man and I love Training Tall's videos and DarkHorse Rowing videos. I lean a little more towards Training Tall, but trust me they are both former colligate rowers and you can't lose. With these two guys and saving their videos to your watch later on RU-vid, trust me you're good to go, you have all the rowing videos you need!

Thanks, Coach! After a 14 day break for COVID healing, this was the perfect lead in workout. Loved the form reminders, too!

I recently got a C2, and watched a ton of videos on form, following the process…15 minutes is my max😅(usually 2000m range), and I’m not even terribly out of shape. So I’m going to try this, go a bit slower and see how I do 👍 Thanks for all the content, by the way, its been very helpful

Hi there! Nice workout and great video, as usual! One question though. I recently took the plunge and replace my rowing machine for the concept2. It used to be a rowing machine with a water tank, filled to the max resistance. I've been rowing regularly for over a year now. So my question is: what kind of resistance should I put on the concept2? Thanx for your answer and keep the good work. Cheers from France!

I've noticed that my power (watts) are lower on my 16spm, than the 20spm. Something I want to focus on for the next session, for sure, as these should remain consistent, irrespective of SPM, right? Really enjoying the journey I've started, using your videos. Thank you for the content you've created.

I wear workout/biking gloves, with padding. That helps prevent blisters, or at least lessen them.

Newbie here just found your channel. I have a garbage picked Schwinn windrigger. I am obese, rowed crew in school back in the day. I am rowing for 22 minutes 4000 meters at 20 spm two times a day, weather and schedule permitting. When I get to where I am crushing this where do I go? My goal is to not die, at least on 2021:)

So I tried rowing in my late 50s and just couldn’t carry on through the boredom. Fast forward to retirement at 65 and I returned to rowing but with AirPods and tunes. I row for thirty minutes now and five days a week. One huge plus that I had no clue would happen to my body is the my neck skin under my chin got picked up and is taught. The neck sag is gone. But one question I have is how long should one row and how many times per week?

this may be long. sorry, but i need help. in 2019 i had a stroke. i used to sport climb and play badminton 3-4 times a week. (climbing days are done) i'm slowly, with rowing and your help (at home, not gym ready yet) getting my left side back to normal, but, BUT i can't get my left pec back up to speed (wee bit flabby tbh atm!) any tips? thanks Austin, love your work buddy!

hey, I've just started my adventure with the ergometer, my time for 1000 m is a little over 4 (because I don't know anything about it, I can't say whether it's a lot or a little for the first time), but I hope to go below that in a short time 4, I wonder how fast it is possible to progress in this? For example, am I able to get down to a result close to 3:20 for 1000m in four months or is it rather feasible? and if it is possible, what to do? thank you very much for your answer

Hey Austin, I’m 6’4” and 150lb. I just bought an Ergatta and I’m looking to gain 40-45lb of muscle. What’s a realistic time goal for me to set for myself? How much time should I be putting into rowing each day? Finally, are their any dietary resources you could recommend - I know that’s going to be an important part of the process.

I just started this 8 week program with my Aviron, but I am new to rowing. I have a couple questions, if you don't mind answering them. 1st, is this meant to be done 7 days a week or only 3? I notice there are 3 for week 1. I want to row no less than 20 minutes per day, so I can also play games. 2nd. You talk about checking our wattage and splits, but I don't know what I am looking at. Can you explain them to me? Thanks for your time.

Austin, I attempted to subscribe to your app several times this morning, and it keeps getting hung up on the “Choose your plan” page and won’t move forward to the subscription options. Is your app no longer available?

'Overthinking things': I think your approach to pace this peace is quite right, you can easly overdue all kinds of workouts, i mean, yesterday I showed someone my rowing technique and got right from the start away ~250W with SR of 15, but when I will trie this for even 4min it may will kill me in my momentan form. So, well done, by giving a treaining thats propably doable for everyone. However, I'm less impressed with your technique, i think your upper-body should be even more calm around the catch, you are doing a quit pronounced 'bungee' there. (Whipping in and out of the catch with the upper body). More Forward Prparation of the body direct after the release, and less upper body movement at the catch would be preverable in my opinion.

OK it'll give it a go when i was in my early 50s I could do a 2 k in 7:12..5k 18:50 10k 38:50 all the way up to a half marathon in 1 hour 24 I'm in my early 60s now what's the drop in potential with a 10 year age difference..I need targets!
