In this video we go over the transmission in the savage. Enjoy the video! If anyone wants to talk privately outside of RU-vid email us at: thenitronation@gmail.com
Excellent video. I have flown nitro planes for over ten years and I am getting into nitro cars. Bought a second hand Savage X 4.6 and this has been a great help.
I run a 3spd an have broken 2nd gear ⚙ so I found a metal an machine it to work in, my trans has alot of mods , I like your idea of the double bearing thank you 😎✌
I put synthetic red gease in my differentials it makes them preform like limited slip differential an its cheaper than buy silicon dif oil. Set up like this the truck can still make tight turns under full power an as the truck straightens out they act like a possi, plus the differential gets very hot an the gease just helps cool it, this set up works very good will fully built differentials , I run a O.S. .30 with super charger an Nova head to keep engine temperature down an my shit spins like freaking mad crazy an my truck has full ceramic bearing kit in everything, this is the best way to run a savage on a budget..😎✌
I loved my Savage .25. Too bad I was so young and stupid and threw it out instead of putting it away, maturing, and then fixing/rebuilt it when I got older… And some guy was selling an unopened and unused one last year in ebay, but wanted more than what it cost brand new so I passed.
Good stuff brother! so here is a question from an X and XL owner(myself) to you: what do you think about putting a .21 / .25 / .28 engine(s) into any HPI Savage model? out of experience i know a .28 can pull crazy wheelies still and i'm kinda looking to increase the run time by a minimum while still having moderate power to pull them. a .32 is a good choice too but the power difference compared to a .28 is just not worth it.
In my experience I haven’t run anything bigger than a .28 and anything smaller than a .25 in a savage but, I’d imagine the fuel mileage would be best with a .21, you’d probably suffer a little torque by default but I’m sure you could make it up by gearing it lower or adding stiffer clutch springs.
I could make a good video on hopping the savage up on a budget I mean I can't run my in the frount yard cause its just to fast...it always costs me money to fix when I crash I need full open area or track ...
