I am not looking forward to the waits on official servers I play on. Multiple 8 hour waits is brutal and kind of nonsensical for a reward that could end up dead quick if the AI gods frown upon her.
I really feel disappointed with how she turned out. So much work for a pretty mid thrall. I was hoping that "COMPANIONS" would have some additional dialogues and/or interactions after you complete their quests. But no, just regular thralls. And the stats on Freya make no sense... I was kinda expecting that the two companions would have specialisations... like Freya could be a great archer, Liu Fei could be a great spellcaster or something, another companion could be a warrior etc... This feels like a missed opportunity

Idk, but I think the Dev might have mixed up the damage multiplier of Freya and Liu Fei. It make no sense that a soccerer can deal more damage with weapons than a real fighter
If you think of them as 'just some class', when you consider men vs women, then it does make sense. The 'average' guy can do way more damage than even a 'good/trained female. Basic biology is a thing.
@@nhcuongzero2005 I'm sure they will, but they cry about EVERYTHING they don't like. Like simple logic... Even go with the "it's a game" logic, the magic of Liu Fei would make his "better" anyway because "magic" or whatever. If Freya was magic, then it could make some sense for her to be stronger....but, she's not.
@@xxxlonewolf49 Real life was never a factor in the game's balancing (or any game really). No one would play female characters in the first place. And even if it did, it wouldn't make sense either way, when you consider that Dalinsia is tied with the Cimmerian Berserker (which can also be female) as the hardest hitting Thrall, putting to shame any other male Thrall. And then you have the Arena Champion, who wipes the floor with any Thrall you send against her and is considered the single hardest NPC in the game.
One main reason I stay with exiles is that the women are feminine yet strong fighters. Freya was always top 3 for me to look for. Glad she gets a storyline. love her voice!!
So if the game doesn't suspend your belief in the difference between the sexes, its a game worth leaving? Really? Narrative over sexual dimorphism matters that much to you? Huh.
Funny thing, your character called Freya Aesir warrior, but if I'm not mistaken, in lore Aesir are the part of Nordheimers that is recognisable for their blonde hair, while Freya's hair would suggest she in Vanir instead. Also, as a person who, after long pause (casued mostly by clumsy butcher strikes to game during so called "Age of War"... bah, "Age of Frustration" more likely) thinks to return to Conan Exiles, but in Savage Wilds mod, I do wonder if and/or how Companions will be implemented for modders.
Thanks for the video. When the companions spawn in your base, do they go to the base that has your bed activated, or any random base? Also: Guaranteed bear spawns outside of New Asagarth gates over to the right side walls from the gate.
There is a bear spawn just under the rock where you've fought the boar - I know, because my base is on that rock...I was thinking about moving anyway, but I guess now I have to :(
Wak I thank you so very much for this guide. Are there actual hint on the quest for the plant locations?. If not this could take the not so eagle eyed player waaaaay too long to find & could put many players off from doing her quest.
Love the quest, the voice lines, more stuff like that will be very cool. A want to know if after all of it she will be only a normal thrall, with no diferent voice lines.
With all the times I've farmed for Freya's Hovel for her and the crafter that occasionally spawns there, I was damned sure I was the one who killed her friends and took her husband...
I'm not saying Freya isn't disappointing, but I believe that the damage multipliers are only 85% of the damage calculation. As of now there are thralls that gain different damage stat boosts. Cimmerian berserkers gain 0.4% damage increase per strength or agility. There are also thralls that gain 0.8% damage increase per strength or agility. The thrall damage calculation goes like this I believe: Weapon damage × 50% × damage multiplier × stat increase. So if both thralls have the same stat of 30 in strength, a thrall with the 0.8 increase would do about the same damage with a 1.8 damage multiplier as a thrall with 0.4 damage increase and a 2.0 damage multiplier. *this is an estimation* Right?
Dina has the exact same stats and model as Freya and is also a guaranteed spawn in G10. So even after the update, you can still get the "old Freya" in a sense. I guess that's also the reason why she's being converted into Companion, so we don't have two T4 Thralls that are carbon copies of each other. Freya was always the more popular of the two for being slightly easier to find (Dina wanders around a little bit), so she got the VIP treatment from the devs. I do hope she gets a buff though.
Hi Wak, after trying to do her quest without your guide it seems ridiculously hard .. just to get her does not ( to me ) seem to be worth the effort. If the Heros are not at least 3 x better than a perfectly levelled Dalinsia or Berserker then I do not see the point in them... We ( I ) used to be able to get a Dalinsia to 8000 + hp. Now pre AO hero's she can get maybe 4500 hp with re rolls..... From the test live she is down to about 2800hp.... Funcom have really screwed up this time by making our beloved followers weak as tap water.... Yes they have down but not out but I would prefre her to be able to survive a fight instead of me HOPING I can get back in to revive her...
Well that was 6 days wasted.. After completing the last fight at Nordhof Freya bugged & I could not talk to her. When I click E on her she just twitches to turn to me & then stands as she was. I tried logging off to see if she resets so I can get her as a companion but she just keeps twitching each time I click E on her.... Has anyone else had that happen? . I guess I should have known something was wrong when her health bar did not show above her.
Perked for maces / hammers but you put a sword in her hand? What was the thought process on that over stacking up armor pen and stagger with a bleed as bonus?
That damage multiplier of 1.7 is a joke surely, There are tens of thralls better than that. its not like she has any special abilities. I am really trying to see what the point of the new Age or heroes is. The thralls do not excite and nothing else seems that interesting. If they are going make these two "Heroes" they need to be worth hours investment.
Her quest is perfect i see no problem with it i can see the vision funcom is trying to do and i’m getting started with the video I’ll update it when I’m finished. Who knows.
That fatality glitch though I hate that system so much already wish they would just remove it. Such a waste of time and it's so boring. Like the animation on sacrificial altars. That one is even worse and pointless.
@@wak4863, I wonder how that will work in multi-player games. Dungeons aren't instanced, so if anyone on the server has Freya at that point will the forge remain depopulated?
Ah, looks like Tencent reminded Funcom that the great Chi-, er ... Khitai must be eternally dominant over the western weaklings. Bad joke aside, did they just keep the Freya thrall stats from before and merely overlay new perks? And seriously, just a Shortsword style? Not an accompanying Singlehanded sword and greatsword? That's really sorta pathetic. Strength based character reward is an Agility weapon only (unless they added a Strength Shortsword) skin. Ayesh.
