I play games for fun, I post guides to share my findings. I enjoy helping people find new and exciting ways to experience their favorite games. My currently favorite genre is survival.
That answers one question I had. Was wondering if what better to get tribesman at a lower level so levelling them up would offer more chances to gain traits. I guess it's just as well to deter them at level 50 to skip levelling.
Do you have any idea whay on local launched game (PC to PC) we (both players) can open the admin panel, but it doesn't work? Nor any of commands like "gm addexp 1000", "gs showinfo 1"?
I was going insane. I checked 3 of the spots in this video and none of them existed... Finally decided to try and force an update by verifying integrity of game files and sure enough the portals showed up.
It wasn't until I watched your video that I realized you could move the crafting queue items by dragging them up or down with the mouse. Not intuitive at all, as no other game in this genre I'm aware of, lets you do that. I was always clicking the [X] to remove the queued item. I hope they fix it in the future so that craftsmen can skip or ignore a queued job if there aren't enough materials in chests. As of now, if the tribesman gets to one of these queued items, all production stops for everything queued.
YOu always have the same masteries and perks. It never changes. Its a roll when the NPC spawns. You can find this by using the ingame console to see the "seed". It came from the Discord. A few people said it and it spread like wildfire.
I no this has nothing todo with this video but I was thinking it would be awesome in single player if one of your tribes men can ride a mount it would make moving your base alot less painful.
holy crap i just got a flint crafter with 122 craftsman 122 weapon crafting and 120 armor crafting, i hope after i lvl them a bit (they are 50) they can get at least one of the crafting skill perks
Maxed out main is better then any character you will find. Having one stat at 180 and the rest at 40 will be better then any character you get even with 120 weapon skill.
Can you do a video on the different admin commands? And do you know of a way to spawn specific tribesmen with specific abilities and tribe affiliation? The generic "barbarian" in the GUI leaves a lot to be desired.
We tested and confirmed this on a number of our tribesmen . The traits and stats are locked in on spawn, and leveling them up "discovers" what they are. It's still RNG per say, but it's not a random roll every 10 levels, the rolls were already done at spawn. It's also why grabbing a 40/50+ doesn't hinder you because they would have had the same exact traits anyway had you leveled them from 1. Good thing honestly, because if the meta was saving a thrall just before each breakpoint and endlessly killing it hoping it would relevel to a trait you want, that would be terrible A simple QOL change would be you can see all the traits a tribesmen will have but they are disabled until the proper level, so you can make a decision ahead of time if it's worth investing in leveling the tribesmen or not. At least on standard server rates, leveling tribesmen is a mult-day ordeal and not exactly an exciting thing. They also really need to take a look at how dimishing return XP works on crafting, especially armor/weapon.
We sure on this because I died with a tribesman that had a gold claw skill. I revived and releveled up and no claw dual blade hammer and great sword are maxed and I don’t have any gold mastery’s
I had this happen aswell. Saved my combat guy at low level and didnt know i needed to update the info in remodel when he levels. At somepoint he was max level and died. Revived him as a level 15 and and when i leveld him up again his passives changed. May be an older version, happended about 2 weeks ago
This game is is putting full release games to shame while in early access. The content is amazing. The performance is pretty decent, the Ai is pretty well done even if it needs tuning and honestly the look and feel to the game from imagery to movement is so well done its like the devs took a look at everything wrong with games of this genre and fixed those issues. I hope to see what they'll do next and hopefully they'll get to the point of adding DLCs and other expansions to the world until there is so much to do that no playthrough of the game is the same as before
My observation was that the lower the tribes man, the fewer negative traits they would gain. Maybe it was all predetermined. But with like a level 5 they would get just positives. Say a level 20 might might already have them and have to improve.
It's all random, all of my friends low tribesman lvl 5-15 came with 3-5 bad perks and 1 good, and my 40-50s have rolled all 5 green perks lvl 3 with 1 single red perk. Or 4 5 green perks and a few red ones. Sometimes it's so bad there's 5 or more reds no matter the level
It's coming from a comment made back when the game released to EA, and someone picks up on it and it becomes a shared bit of knowledge that isn't true because of it.
Well, kind of wak, if you use code Dengji 60 (iirc) there is a chance to reroll a different perk. It took a bunch of tries using the admin code but it is possible to get a different perk by spamming dengji 60. The perks are the same most of the time although they are in different order but sometimes and rarely,.you will get a new green perk but all reds will stay the same. I tested it myself. Iirc it would be one or two different ones but in normal gameplay it is predetermined and cannot change as far as i know
@wak4863 Would it be possible for you to do a video on whether it's better to recruit low levels and level them up or just recruit as high lv of NPC's as you can possibly deter? I do not remember if it was you or some one on your server, but it was eluded to that higher level NPC's already have most of their negative traits gone (probly because to gap to lose them is much smaller)
That's exactly what he's showing in this video. The NPC that he's leveling has 5 negative Hex talents at level 5, the GM command shows that it will loose 1 at level 25 and another at 35 resulting in only 3 negative talents at level 60. That growth path is predetermined for every NPC when they spawn. Recruit them at higher levels so they've already removed any negative traits they were scheduled to.
its predetermined and randomized, the command showinfo shows everything what perk they will get and what negatives they will drop, even the mastery skills also are predetermined, whoever said that clearly didn't do that or doesn't understand anything kek
I think so. I play solo. I tweaked some of the settings so that I level faster because at the beginning I was playing with official settings and it was a massive grind fest. Now that I am not grinding hard for every task, I get to engage with the content and am wholly enjoying the game. I suggest if you play solo tweak the settings or play on one of Wak's servers as he adjusted the settings. After that point it's addictively fun.
I confirm, i've been playing the same tribesman for weeks now and died several time. Everytime I lvl up again from 43 - 55 i get the same masteries and perks.
Ah, thats a bummer, good thing I didn't do it already. While we are on this topic, is there a mask I can use to see what the perks are, before I "persuade" the tribesman to be part of my tribe?
Correct, this is bad information. My brother and I tested this and these perks absolutely seem predestined, so to say. Killing them and releveling them only costs you time.
Nice to see they added personal weight slider. I have stopped playing right after I have completed my first dungeon - opened up some chests, got some decent loot just to realize I have to throw ALL of it away, because two portal pieces ate all my carry weight. I could of course, circumvent this by dying and re spawning at my base with all the loot (single player, I turned off inventory drop on death), but I thought it was so dumb.
So what I'm really getting out of this is just use someone that can go full into durbility, since the specific increase does nothing to improve the craft :/
So far I've gotten a craftsman with 120 in both armor and weapon, but they only have armor perk at 3. That's okay, I can focus them on armor and get another for weapon. Been working at it 3 days now.
