¡Qué vídeo tan fascinante! Me encantó ver la sierra Frick en acción en la Feria de Amigos de la Granja. ¡Una demostración impresionante de habilidad y tecnología antigua combinadas! 🌟
@ localcrew, doesn't it all depend on what the intended use is for? I personaly prefer flitch sawing, like he's doing there. Makes it easy to align grain for glue ups, can also build unique furniture with the natural edges of the tree.
My dad had one of these sawmills when I was a kid, but it caught fire and burned. Still got the origional solid tooth blade that came with it, and a box of teeth for the blade that was on it when it burned.
@@outbackcountry512 git a story don't know how to make short . Back in the mid 70s . we were cutting every week end . got a u haul from a dealer . every time we got a piece with some type of whole we would save it . and put them on a top shelf in the dealers showroom area . over that summer we probley had close to 20 . if you could jest picture all those different sizes and shapes across that top shelf and guys being guys . there were lots of laughs . then the dealers insurance man came in one day and said to take them down before one fell and hurt someone . well they went into the fire wood pile . well 2to 3 weeks went by a man came it looking for them .there was quite a bit of talk and laughter about them in town . he was a taxaturmest also he was going to pay us 20 bucks each they were gone and now just a story . i still save some newly cut ones and remember that . Merry Christmas john
Do you have a ball park of what it would cost to pick up an old Frick 00 and get in back to good working condition i don't wont to get taken for a ride and over pay for one thanks
there are so many things to look for it would be hard to put a price on one , and how much ware . steel or wood new set works or old wheel bearings . 5000 should get you a nice one , no power john
@@fricknjeep Thanks that gives me a good starting point. i did order me a band saw mill for now because i know it will take time to find one repair it and get i cutting but i will be able to use both. and a have a ford tractor i was going to use for the power plant
@@fricknjeep John its like a lot of things these days with the K Rona virus and everybody and there sister wonting to buy one you have to order one and get in line i was told 4 to 6 months.
He is a volunteer at our annual farm show and this is for demo purposes only so better to be safe !!! Plus this mill is in need of a major tune up /restoration.Powered by a flat belt tractor not the most efficient could use a DD671 !!!! And you could not tell him anything about sawing logs that he does not already know he is probably 76 years old when this was done and he still saws daily!!!!!!
