The scene quickly segues to Frida and Tina, who exemplify the "warmth and fun" that Frida tried all her life to have and to keep. The film's about Frida, after all.

She just chugged half a bottle of some pretty pure white alcohol; pretty sure she would be feeling no pain. Plus, Frida was a fighter and she didn't let her pain, or anything else, slow her down until she was older. And it is a movie so there is artistic license to enhance the viewer's experience. But you go right ahead and find fault instead of simply enjoying the artistry because it's so much more self-satisfying to be a critic.

Antonio, with the disclaimer that I may always be wrong, ( having only done a few hours research to locate the composer of Alcoba Azul (btw, it has been covered by other artists since the film, who do not do it the justice required as does Lila Downs) - -near as I can find out, it may have traditional origins, it may be a collaboration between the artist Ms. Downs and the sound track primary composer, Elliot Goldenthal. It may be that Maestro Goldenthal composed it while integrating other sources. Those are my hypothesis based on every version of this piece I ‘ve been able to locate. Meanwhile I’ve ordered a copy of the soundtrack and hope to get more information and so edit this post. I believe Maestra Downs also composes, and this is listed as one of “her” songs on every website /discography available online. It is odd to me that someone would say it is not tango. This is not American Ballroom, don’t look at your partner, kind of dancing. Tango came from a very different place. It has been appropriated and bastardized for competitions. It is the dance of regular people in many countries, of the poor, it is the dance born from rebellion and protest. Yes, this is a tango. It belongs to two artists: Frida and her husband’s first wife. Tango was not born in the American Ballroom dance studios. That is an overdone, obscenity for American palates unable to taste the real origins of Tango. Okay. now someone can say mean things to me.
