I feel a bit cheated that this was only 30 minutes. I wanted a whole hour by which time Pat, Matt and Woolie are covered in nervous sweat, fumbling the controls. And then, at the final 10 seconds, Pat finally admits that behind the character designs he hates there's a good game.
I can't believe that Liam single handedly created this game while he was on house arrest, that's amazing. Of course we have to thank Pat for overseeing the project and helping with the loli designs.

They're all like that except for Liam. For being a supposed Japanfile, Liam is pretty open minded to different genres of games. It must be all that different Japanese porn that opened his mind.
Despite its..."asthetics", AH has a lot of depth and variaty that rivals with that of Skullgirls. AH is a damn good game, a shame that people just ignore it as another Creepy Anime Bullshit...which it is, but it is freaking amazing. If it were less creepy, AH would be a standart on EVO every year.
I think the main problem is that AH went "characters first, gameplay later" which is unlike any other ArcSys game. So far, I only see one grappler in the game. Also, super jumps feel floaty, and overall fighting is slow for a hyper-fighting game and an Arcsys game.
madvertiz0r Well, ONE obvious grappler, but many characters have command grabs. The superjumps ARE floaty, but they serve well to the air game which wasn't shown on this vid. And despite the general "slowness', on high level play, it gets pretty hetic you don't notice it is slow. Gameplay-wise, AH is very good, Although I will conceed that it really feels like character design did come in first to appeal to all the flavors of Moe there was at the time.
jamg25 Thanks for the insight. I'll admit I enjoy the Bushido Blade style of choosing the Arcana of your choice, but each character has an Arcana that works best for them.
MikkoLovesGaming Love Arcana is the best Arcana overall, because it complements all the roster very well in AH3, but in this updated version there were buffs and added new attacks to some of the other Arcana, so I don't know if it still holds truth.

That character that's a drawing is so fucking cool and hilarious, his animations are gold. He reminds me of that one game on N64 about fighting chalk graffiti.

And it breaks his mind to the point where he ends up in silent hill to face a bunch of monsters tailor made to his trauma and past terrible deeds.
I wish that people could see how decent and not perverted this game was. I think that it is actually playing with your expectations. The people who see this game as sexual are just too socially minded or they have their head in the gutter all of the time. Even though the vast majority hate this game, I really do think that, that many people have their head in the gutter or are too strongly opposed by social norms. Otherwise, people would not mistake it as trash. But, the truth is always hated anyway. None of this is truly sexual, anyway. It is a game appropriate for young girls to play. If you think that I am lying, you are mistaken. I plan to make my own all-female fighting game because of Arcana Heart. I know that it may never be popular, but I am already bound to be hated by everyone for my great knowledge and power and wisdom and courage.
arcana hearts not sexual? LMAO, its not 100% sexual but it definetly is sexual, 90% of the games endings and the anime thing on the side in the middle of the fight is pretty sexual for some characters, sure, the game is pretty good, but you cant say its not sexual.
Arcana Hearts is actually a really good game, with tons of variety due to the Maiden/Arcana pairing system and it plays differently than any other fighter. Yes, you have to look passed the fact that the entire cast is made up of loli fetishes.
I'm not a big Arcana Heart fan, but the game is solid, really wish you guys showed more of the cast. If you don't want to play it, then don't. Or at least give it more than 30 minutes.

Arturo Sanchez is king of anime and was the guy who went to that anime fighting game tourney in San Antonio a decade ago to take on the best Japanese player of that game. Still pretty good with anime games. Sanford Kelly is the guy infamously known for the line of 'Pick a Top tier' for Vanilla Street Fighter 4. And also renown for his salty blow ups on losses followed by chucking his arcade stick to the floor.

one thing about these anime fighters that perplexes is the amount of talking in them. i was watching some guys playing blazblue and the characters were constantly yelling full sentences at each other with every move like damn, dont they run out of breath?

I absolutely love arcana heart 3 love max. It's one of the best fighters I've ever played and I've played everything from soul calibur to skullgirls to samurai shodown and everything in between, even sonic fighters. I've beaten every character's story and I love every character in the game. It's up there with blazblue, soul calibur, and skullgirls. My favorite character is Heart Aino, she is so much fun to use.

I played the second Arcana Heart and it was really fun. I love the mechanics to it and the being able to pick between a character and an arcana is really cool so it gives u combinations to use. I really need to play another one of these again.
I think the concept of girls fighting and beating the shit out of each other is awesome. I don't really care if they're maybe designed in a way that might be a little risqué and that they're underage. That shit doesn't really have an effect on me either way. Uh, I don't really know where I was going with this. But seeing how some people are getting so worked up over other people bashing on/joking about this loli stuff, it kinda makes them look a little idk... lowkey creepy.. At the same time though, if you're into loli that's fine I don't really care, go ahead and like the shit that you like. tl,dr: I don't fucking know lol
