From what i could piece from the lore we had till now, Matsu (the person we sing against in the song) is Nikku's mom, and Matsu worships a God, which apparently is a "false god", but she also tried to make Nikku worship it too, but Nikku doubted "God", which leaded for the said "God" go after her. And that "God" got control of Matsu, making her one of it's pawns. But all that happened in other planet, and Nikku fleed from there, ending up in Earth and hiding from the False God. We still don't the context behind Astral Projection; why is Nikku confronting her mom, and what happened after the song. But we know that Nikku is probably hiding her identity because of the False God.

In the context of Sunset Hills, we can assume this is taking place in the Dreamfield, which is accessible by sleeping at the very least. Asmodeux is implied to have a huge influence from within the Dreamfield, and sort of implied that his followers and victims' consciousness are held here as well. It is unknown if being transported to the Dreamfield is Asmodeux's will or the person's as Yokki seems to have entered there either by mistake of by Asmodeux. Matzushii is extremely dangerous as a priestess to Asmodeux, but based off Nikku's tone near the end, she still cares for her even though she's long gone. If we assume this is Nikku in the Dreamfield, then Nikku knows exactly why just talking to Matzu is a really bad idea. So she disguises her voice in an attempt to snap Matzu out of it. Unfortunately, she still got discovered almost immediately, and as a final cry out to her mother, she drops the guise and uses her own voice, hoping it will reach out to whatever is left of her. I'm a firm believer that though Hotline 024 is not canon to Sunset Hills, if it's all a dream, Astral Projection would suddenly become an important part of the overall story. Because if it is slightly canon, this would have been the moment Nikku blew her cover.

@@moniquefucher6437 animations are literally one of the best weapons the game has, it just makes it more alive, since its just so cool to see the characters interact whit each other that is not whit text and images to change the emotional state they are in trhought the situation and the *dodges* *kills it/him/her* , that is just role play moment.

It happened to me too. It gave me a error screen when I get to that part with the shaders on. I hope the devs will fix that problem so we can play the song with the effects on without it crashing the game.

A time skip wouldn’t be out of the question. The errors in the background say “You’re stuck; never wake up.” and “We observe you; Did you miss me?” Depending on how you interpret it, could be a time skip-

From my dig around the song and messing with the audio, the sound clips I've come across are: "Help me" (forwards) "I'm sorry" (forwards) "This is what we talked about" (backwards) "There's no turning back" (backwards) There may be more but the song covers too much of them to hear properly

The lore: Starting from when Nikku was a child. When asking questions about “God” from her mom, her mom tells her not to question what “God” does or doesn’t do (in an almost threatening manner), which is a clear sign that her mom is in a cult-like organization/company? Growing up, Nikku starts getting rebellious (probably not believing in the “fake god”), which leads to her mom (or her organization) to hunt her down, which then leads to her becoming an outlaw (hence the wanted posters). Now this part is purely my own speculation , but I assume that after some time, Nikku meets other rebels like her (including Rude#1 who probably see’s her like a chaos magnet, since she’s most likely #1 in the “wanted list”), and they plan to find the “real god” (idk??? I just think that they wouldn’t mention a “fake god” if there wasn’t a real one). And we reach the events of this song, and in which we can see Nikku calling her mom disguised as Bf (probably in an attempt to save her). But as we can see by the end of the song, *SHE’S GONE* and there’s no saving her now. Now this part is probably not in the right timeframe, but I think that the events of Date At The End Of The World (or Armageddon), the mom reports her daughter to the “fake god” and in an attempt to get rid all non-believers, the “fake god” tries to kill Nikku, who roped Rude#1 into her mess. Okay! That took longer than expected. So what do you guys think? (I’m not a professional theory crafter, but I think I did pretty well putting the pieces together!)

@@penguioon4251 if your PC is good enough, the shaders work. if it's not, shaders crash so the only solution is to either buy a new PC or toggle a setting in the option. but surely you wouldn't buy a new PC just for one rhythm game mod, would you? (even if that rhythm game mod is incredible and has immense amounts of lore) personally I liked the version without shaders a bit more, it still looks amazing but you can also see more of the details. the shaders are just the distortion effect seen in the video.
