Depends on Greece as well. We mostly drink wine. Even our cheaply-made Alcohol for the usual consumption is wine called “Retsina”. That's why as in all Southern European Countries, like, Greece, Italy and Spain, wine is first. In the last 20 years in Greece, beer drinking has been increased, especially since we're only 10 million Greeks while we receive 35 million Tourists. The ration is 3,5X, one of the biggest. Spirits, only at Clubs and Pubs. Yes, we mostly drink moderately for fun. But some drink a lot, however, very few, just to drawn their problems with Retsina.

We sincerely love you, too. Lately, Sweden increased their numbers in Greece by a lot. I started seeing many Swedish people. The first 5 countries in terms of tourism in Greece, 1st Germany, 2nd the UK, 3rd France, 4th the US and 5th is Italy. But that's because these countries are big and have much larger populations. As I was saying, lately many Swedish and even Poles and Romanians began coming en masse. Every European is more than welcome to have fun here and feel free to mingle with us. We're a little too open-hearted, social people. We only don't like Islam and its followers. We don't hide it nor pretend to. Excuse us on this. We have our legitimate reasons as you might know. Islam kept us stagnant for 400 years. Kept stagnant one of the most progressive people in Europe, us, the Greeks. When the rest of Europe adopted all of our ancient culture and had time to compose Pythagorean music, to learn Greek architect and create their own, paint and adopt from our laws to theatrical plays and everything in-between, we found ourselves under the darkness of Islam. The unfairness is choking you. Thank you for your consideration and understanding. Do not misinterpret my words. Greeks won't ever pretend the victims; I just say how it went and the reason we dislike Islam.

The dialect of ancient Athens was Attic , and unlike other forms of Greek spoken today ,Tsakonian Is a descendant of the Doric dialect that the Spartans spoke not the Athenian dialect. Tsakonian is the sole remnant of Ancient Doric sadly there are only few speakers remaining in the some areas in the Peloponnese

Its mostly Greeks who havent' travelled that might think like that, and there's lots of Greeks living abroad who dont have polarized thinking

We certainly aren't the best but the Greek temperament is kind of "special". A Greek could spot another Greek abroad by how they carry themselves. I think that Greeks tend to like their Greek-ness

Of course we are not the best, maybe we are middle. We dont exagerrate with ourselves. But we have our inique tamperament. Not saying it is good or bad, just saying it us unique. Love from Greece dear Irene!
