As a native Texan, I pretty much lived life like this show throughout high school. Characters like Buddy Garrity were my next door neighbors. Characters like Lyla, Matt Saracen, and Smash were my classmates. This show spoke to my soul in more ways than one.

Watched this on Netflix and I didn't think it was possible to fall in love with a television show, but this show showed me it is. I fell in love with show...I fell in love with the characters, the sport of football, the little town Dillon that I'm not even sure exists but I don't care. This show is so amazing and I would recommend it to everyone. It has everything from drama to romance to sports to action. Seriously if you're debating whether to watch this show or not, just do it because you will not regret it. This show will have you laughing, crying, screaming, cheering. Give this show a shot. Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose.

Second time watching the series. (Skipping season #2 both times, gladly) That FIRST season (sure, it's 22 episodes) is the single most impactful, emotionally charged season of TV I have EVER watched. Breaking Bad, especially the last season, was emotionally draining - But FNL... Wow. And god, Mr. and Mrs. T. That couple. That marriage. Best. Ever.

The first time I watched this series, I felt empty when the credits rolled on the final episode. I felt like I’d spent my life with these characters and I didn’t know what to do without them. I felt like a Panther graduating and feeling lost without my community and team. I just rewatched the series again about 5 years later and it’s still one of my absolute favourites. Coach Taylor may be my favourite TV character of all time. I haven’t seen the movie or read the book and as great as I’m sure they are, no version of this story can ever top this show.

How Zach Gilford did not win an Emmy for the story arc when Matt's dad died is a travesty. He should have won simply based on his facial expression in the funeral home when he opened the casket and saw that his dad no longer had a face. No words...no dialogue...just emotion....they were his best scenes

You can't beat this show. Friday Night Lights stands head and shoulders above every other show I have ever seen. While it's a pity that it never truly caught on, it can also be seen as a blessing that the show never had the opportunity to jump the shark, and eventually become something its fans hated. With the exception of one plot line in season 2, this show is nearly without flaw. The acting, the writing, the drama...there is so much to love. This is the best show about life, I have ever seen. The football provides a great backdrop, but this is a show about life.

@@TM-bn8pv seriously, I get why they did it from a kitschy marketing standpoint but they buried it. The show had great reviews, they should’ve aired it on Sunday night at 8, prime time and the gold standard for a network tv show. It’s a pity but I’m glad it’s a cult favorite now.

No show has more heart than this one. No show has the character. I've watched this show 3 times. And each time it is beautiful. Each time it is moving and emotional and heart wrenching. I love this show and its rich characters, its rich relationships and real stories. These people feel real. Smash feels real. Timmy Riggins and Matt. Street and Lyla. Landry and Tyra. Vince. Becky. Coach and Tammy. Billy, Mindy, Buddy, and all the parents. Its hard to explain how the ending feels, its a bunch of emotions, sadness and happiness. And how the show was never really the same after season 1, or during when Coach went to East. I love this show. Clear Eyes. Full Hearts.

This may be one of the greatest trailers out there, for any movie, or any TV series. A fantastic trailer because it does a terrific job of showing the essence of the show, that it's not a show about a sport. Anyone would at least give this show a try after watching this - Best trailer out there!

I'm from a small town in Texas. Went to high school in the 70s. Played football here. That being said, I knew everyone of these characters in my high school experience. Brings me joy, and it makes me sad. This show could've been about my town, and my people. Glad I got to live it all again through this show.

I don't care about football. I don't even understand the rules, nor do I care. I try my best to stay away from High School settings in fiction, as I am not interested in the usual teen drama. But Friday Night Lights is one of the best things that ever happened on TV. It can hold it's own right besides some of the best HBO shows. It's brilliant in storytelling, style, acting, and emotional payoff. I am sincerely grateful to the friend that kept insisting I needed to watch this show despite my initial "It's a Texas High School football show, go away" attitude. It's so full of heart, soul, and spirit. You DO NOT need to like football to enjoy this show. You just need to like your entertainment to be really, really good.

That's what sports do, especially football. Lots of real life drama, competition, jealousy, etc. Passionate people doing passionate things together just makes it much more real than some drama show that tries to make up passion out of ridiculous atory lines(though FNL even had some at some points).

It took me a long time to finally get my wife to watch the show because she also thought it was only about football. In the first few episodes, especially in the pilot, the focus is mostly on football, but as we all know it changes shortly thereafter. If you can get people past the first few episodes then you're good.

I just watched all 5 seasons in less than a month and I’m in awe. I couldn’t get enough of it - FNL has skyrocketed to my top 5 greatest series of all time. Here are some thoughts: Kyle Chandler as Coach: I don’t think there has ever been a more perfect casting for a role in a show. Connie Britton as Tami Taylor: I started out liking her and ended up loving her. And her southern accent, on a scale of 1-10, was a 12. Kyle & Connie as husband & wife: Without a doubt, the best on-camera-chemistry of a husband and wife - flawless. Taylor Kitsch as Tim Riggins: Talk about nailing a character - Taylor nailed it with a sledge hammer. Louanne Stephens as Grandma: Simply outstanding - one of the greatest acting jobs on this series. Lyla, Matt, Julie, Tyra, Landry, & Buddy: All Solid performances. Top 10 Shows: 1. BB 2. 24 3. Tie: West Wing/Friday Night Lights 5. Homeland 6. Ray Donavan 7. Mad Men 8. Banshee 9. Masters of Sex 10. Surviving Escobar

One of the few shows ever made that really captures what the America between the coasts is like. Turns out, the people and the stories out in the heartland are as compelling and interesting as anything ever filmed in NY or LA. Hope, Dreams, Conflict, Friendship, Betrayal, Desperation, Heartbreak, Resiliency, Triumph, Defeat, Death, Toughness, Love, Family....all this portrayed in wonderful storytelling that felt emotionally true. Clear Eyes, Full Hearts..... Can't lose.

I finished the series today and cried my eyes out. I'm so attached to these characters, it's unbelievable! Right now, I'm tearing up so much after watching this trailer. So much, it's lucky that no one's home to hear me. It's like I'm having a meltdown. The emotional complexity of this show is so unique that there will be no other show that could even dream of having such a great impact on an audience as Friday Night Lights. I have the biggest respect for this series.

I’m an Aussie who had no particular interest in American Football a month ago. I binge-watched this series in a few weeks and finished two days ago. I have watched a lot of TV over the years but this show has affected me like no other has. I tear up just thinking about it. I’m watching any RU-vid video I can find about FNL and I’m wondering how long I should wait before starting over again.

Just discovered this series. Watching Season 1 on DVD now w/my adult son. The game footage is realistic, the relationships mostly realistic (esp. marriage btwn coach and wife) the acting superb. I can tell this is a show we'll likely watch more than once in it's entirety and we're only on Disc 2 of Season 1!! I imagine they keep up the good writing and acting throughout.

This is a great trailer. It even mimics the show in the sense that it starts off being mostly about football but over time it changes and becomes about these people's lives. Such a great show.

The scenes that made me cry was when matt broke down at coaches house after his dad died , when Landry confessed to his dad in the garage about the murder , when Landry and his dad where at the police station and his confession was over but e felt so guilty that he wanted to stay and confess more so his dad had to forcefully get him out , and matts dads funeral

I was born and raised in a small town in Texas and this show is the most accurate portrayal of Texas life and football that I've ever seen. I love it. TEXAS FOREVER

I FUCKING LOVE this show. Just started watching and I'm on season 3 now. I'm gay, hate sports but love this show. It's about so much more than football. I even find myself cheering for the Panthers during the football scenes. Awesome stuff

I know almost nothing about football and this is one of my all-time favorite shows too. It's hard to explain to people that it really isn't a show about football, although the game lives large in everyone's lives. Enjoy the rest of the seasons!

Jordan Conley I'm down to the finale and I just don't want it to end. I've watched "Texas Whatever" twice now to prolong the experience. How dumb that a show can have such an effect on someone! LOVED seeing Tyra back. Her and Riggs belong together. Hope the Lions win the state.!

Finished rewatching a few days ago. There are very few shows/movies that make me tear up. This does it multiple times. The performances and writing is beyond its time.

I watched this show before my Varsity Football season and I never truly understood what it was like to be a Varsity Football player and all the good perks that come with it and how much fun it is. Now my season is coming to an end and our sections championship game is soon. I have a feeling that once this season ends and next year when my Senior season ends, this show is gonna be unwatchable to me because I couldn't handle going through the pain of missing football. This show brings so many feels with it.

Its a miracle this series lasted 5 seasons. It almost cancelled a few times and luckily it didn't. I feel like 5 seasons is the perfect amount for every show. Its long enough so you don't have to leave out great ideas and so you can flesh out characters, but its short enough to where it doesn't overstay it's welcome. There are some exceptions of course but 5 seasons was perfect for FNL

Started the show about a month ago on Netflix. Got to the point where I was telling people, no I'm going home to watch my show haha. Watched the last episode last night and was saddened, to say the least, that fnl and I had come to the end of our road together. Coach Taylor is such a badass man. Life lessons, great show...
