Hey siben (writing this the day after you posted the video) just got back from San Jose. I fell like the story had good changes I like how he had his memory wiped from the battle and not from him self. This explains to me more why he interacted how he did with Tezeret. Another great video. Happy to be back.
jace's lore changed but it is more adept then before. but that better be all they change for the lore of the plainswalker's. i don't want an Ajani kitten mane. =)
The new Jace is a transformed, its kind of like a werewolf from earlier sets, but if you complete his ability he is exiled then returned to the battlefield transformed. I can't wait so see it in action.
These new origin stories have been very interesting. Most of them do change things up from the old origin stories or skip over some parts but overall these have been fun to revisit and re-imagine. Also love seeing cards made from key moments in the planeswalkers stories. Most of them probably won't see much play in any constructed format but in a casual format they might be a lot of fun. Also in collecting too, some of my favorite cards are not necessarily cards I played with in a deck but I like just from the story-lines. Great video as always!
Truth be told, I think that this new lore was actually better. I believe that it shells out a more like detailed jace and stuff. I love him a ton anyway in lore but this makes him a more like "real" person! I'm more defiantly going to try and get the jace card as soon as it comes out! i'd love a good card to add to my EDH mill deck and I feel like an angry jace card might fit in there.
This is fun to listen to. I've known about MTG for a long time, but I never got in depth into it. I never realized how well put together these stories were.
Although past Jaces have been better than the Origins Version, I love the flashback abbility specially since there should be plenty of cards in your graverard because of the ability Jace has.
Since Jace and Gideon are now allies, will Gideon teach Jace combat training? Jace is an accomplished telepath, I'm sure, but even he should learn how to get physical when needed.
Sorry for my english, but i have a doubt After this ''new'' story, when Jace gets to Ravnica, what happens? The same that happened in the old Jace's storyline ? Or that's all we know now?
The part in wich Jace makes his master forget how to breathe was a nonsence, if you can already breath without thinking about it is because it isn't something that have to do with the memory, is like saying "Jace made the sphynx forget how to make his heart beat"
So, basically, Jace used his powers to damage the autonomic nervous system. That's hardly difficult to believe considering Jace's powers revolve around the brain.
I think i'm just not a fan of the new lore. I liked Liliana's but between Jace's current one and the past one where he accidentally obliterates his master's mind, planeswalks and then erases his memory of the events, I prefer the latter. I did like how he made Alhammaret forget to breath though, cool idea.
eric kern no Jace will only ever be mono blue. When you use a color the philosophy of that color will alter your body & mind jace wouldn't allow anything but pure knowledge power his actions
Just being a critic. I dislike any background music at least on this video.I enjoy narrated mtg lore slideshows.I like video length could have been 15 mins.thank u for not being at beginning of video but I love u and your clone I mean twin are u a stangg twin
Sorry, seibenlore but I think you pronounced "Vryn" wrong. The world name, Vryn (VER-in), rhymes with "grin" "pin" or "spin". You pronounced "Vryn" like "Vyrn" (VERN) rhyming with "turn" "fern" or "burn" It came off pretty unpleasant for me. I'm sorry if I'm being nitpicky, but I just thought it would help to inform you.
You know, I thought I wasn't going to enjoy a lot of these Origin stories (seeing how drastic Chandra's story was from her original) but I'm actually very pleased with both Liliana's and Jace's stories. Jace's new (or more detailed) story makes him a little more likable a character (still not my fav though. can't back his happen of peering into other's minds). It puts him more in the perspective of a puppet looking to do his own good rather than follow someone else as well as just lets us glimpse an amazing world that hopefully Jace just accidentally 'walks to. Ah, how cool it would be to see him meet his parents and not know them or see what became of Tuck, Caden, and Jill or see what events happened after Alhammeret's death (Vryn's probably wrecked now). I really enjoyed the video. You do a great job on keeping up with the lore (Vorthos ftw!)
the abillties of new Jace and the lore: (tap): draw, discard, transporm= he read the enemy's mind but then erase his one mamory, and after some time like that is spark ignites. (+1): take contrule of this small creature so it wan't attack him (like with the bullies). (-3): he reads your mind and help you get a spell you already used. (-9): "he maybe forgot his mother's face, or the sound of his own name, but his teacher got it worst. he forgot how to breathe."
I Like Jace but my personal Favourite will always be Nicol Bolas in his Planeswalker form I really, really like Dragons a lot and I'm at the moment building a Deck that has both Nicol Bolas and Ugin :)
Jace isn't my favorite Planeswalker (Sorin all the way!), but he's definitely in my top 5 and his new lore is just awesome! Might have to start playing more blue...
Another enjoyable video - your video help me shave off time, as my anthem as of late seems to be "Woah, overtime!" Little sad that his backstory is really close to Chandra's in it's development, but I'm sold on the Mana rings part.
I'd love to win that Jace to add to my Jace collection. Jace has always been my favourite Planeswalker ever since they introduced him in Lorywn. I love Jace so much that I chose to write for a Facebook group known as The Planeswalker Pantheon under the pseudonym Jace.
Nice lore video.Have you thought about an Urza/Mishra lore video? I read Brothers war, decades ago, and would love to see a return of either of these two in a future set. With timelines being able to be shifted, or possibly another multiverse variation where Karn didn't get the heartstone, and urza's eyes.
Nice one, SeibenLore i really like your videos, espically this one since, Jace is my favorite planeswalker...I hope you could do more about blue planeswalker, since they are the funniest in my opinion ^^
All the Jace!!!! His new card definitely is gonna be interesting. But a question for you Seiben: do you think these flip style cards are going to make another appearance in a set in the near future or do you think it's a "one shot, one deal" kind of thing?
This lore feels way different from the original, but when starting over I guess that's to be expected. I'm just glad the new lore involves less abuse towards Jace.
I find Vryn super interesting, what with the dystopian/civil war vibe. Since blocks are going to be two sets apiece, I hope that it will be visited and fleshed out a bit more.
I like the origin story because it went into depth with Jace's childhood I also think his story will roughly stay the same even his meeting with Liliana Vess and becoming the living guild pact.
I am glad they are clearing up some of the planeswalkers lore. Jace is one of my favorite planeswalkers, but i think lilliana and gideon are the most playable of the new flip walkers.
