Yes! Torque control is just a guideline. I think it's a good way to train your wrist about how much pressure is too much but it's not a 100% solution for safety. True safety is a judgement call that's customized for each canal's anatomy, dentin type, and the file size/geometry. It's all about the chip space and debris management. if you're preparing the canal manually upto 20-25 number of manual files, you should not have this problem. breakage of protapers happens more if you havent manually prepared and cleaned the apical end and rest of the canal manually upto atleast the 20 , 25 numbe rof manual files eamers.
