I remember having that Crystal Lake to Manhatten set forever until I got Scream Factory Set. I'm collecting those German Blu Ray Releases, but they expensive.
Me and my brother are both big fans of this series and between the two of us we've purchased all the films at least three or four times. The new box set seems to be the definitive release, and I'll probably purchase it soon. However I'll always have a soft spot for the original DVD releases I remember, me and my brother slowly bought the individual DVDs when we were younger and we were so happy when we finally got the last one which at the time was Freddy vs Jason. My father have the vhs's of 1 through six when we were kids. I've always loved this franchise and even did a ranking of it on my channel and hopefully one day we'll get a 13th film.
yes the CtoM set will always have good memories to me also... however, I'm glad to own the Scream/Shout set...not only contains every feature released but also has memories to me man... thank you CHH for this video man...
Great video man, I love seeing these! I have a bunch of the Friday sets also. I also love to collect everything Friday the 13th! You gotta love all the mistakes man, makes Friday the 13th even more enjoyable!
I couldn't tell the difference with the Jason Lives picture. I remember trying to compare the two blurays but I couldn't tell what was different about the color timing.
I owned Crystal Lake to Manhattan for years prior to the Scream set. The thing that always bothered me about that set is if you look at the Killer Bonus Disc it says "Don LaFontaine talks about the Friday the 13th Trailers" but all it had was all the trailers on there and it bothered me for years that it didn't have that. Great Vid CHH. I don't care if you did this video every few months I'd watch all of them! Love the series.
@@PlanetCHH Keep in mind, those were older HD transfers on the Paramount discs and I'm sure SF did a little mastering on the later films as well despite what they said. Part 5 clearly looks better on the SF disc, it seemed to have brighter color detail and crisper, warmer look to it. Part 6 had the corrected blue color filter, it never looked grayish green on the VHS release. Not sure about 7-8, I guess they look a little crisper and they added the original Ultra Stereo mix to them.
Friday the 13th still my all time top franchise, I adore it so many memories about good times. It's what really got me into Falling in love with horror
It would make sense to me that the part 5 synopsis is intentionally written as not to spoil it for people - that would be like spoiling who the killer in the first film is. The disc art on the other hand just seems like the graphic designer felt keeping the red colour scheme was more important. I kind of hope Scream Factory releases a non-special edition bluray set of the new scans. I love the art on that box but man it's huge. I know people like individual cases but that box takes up so much space - space I do not have haha I'd happily take a thick case with multiple disc trays inside it. Although as others have theorised, give them a few years and they'll do 4K scans of all of them and release another set.
Awesome video!! I got into collecting the box sets, and while I don't have the Crystal Lake to Manhattan set, I did score the Friday the 13th lunchbox from FYE that came with the updated Paramount box set.
From what I’ve seen online the only disc that has actual better options is the Freddy v Jason blu-ray which the tin set has exclusive that is better. As a fan of that movie I’d like to compare them to see which I prefer as that’s something from the new scream boxset that bothered me as did part 7 which looked imo the worst visually.
These sets are amazing and I will keep collecting them and watching them over and over and over till Death Do me part🤟💯💯💯 another Great Review Planet CHH!!!
