Hey Blind wave! It’s my birthday!! I’ve been a fan since I was 10 around this same time of year, you guys did that Star Wars video and my mind was blown 😂 I’m 22 married and I have a 1 year old. It’s just crazy you guys been part of my life! So thank you for all the content and videos throughout the years! You guys were the best friends I didn’t have!
Happy Birthday@@sam2slow670 !! Thank you for spending all those years with us, and we hope we can continue to produce content you enjoy for years to come!
Betsy Palmer came up with a backstory to give Mrs Voorhees a Freudian Excuse; Jason was the result of a Teen Pregnancy that her parents disowned her for, and thus she hated any kind of premarital sex.
i did that exactly with every reaction, specially if there was a girl or many girls. it is so funny. if i were more experience in video editing, i would make mashup completion for those jump scares
The messed up part about the snake scene is that the snake was a dudes pet and they didn't tell him that they were going to kill the snake. So they just killed that dudes pet snake with him even knowing about it
@@tomtucker4157 Yeah, it wasn't a myth. It was a true fact mentioned on Kill Count's review of Friday the 13th. The snake was real and not some snake they found for the scene. It belonged to one of the prop people and was an animal performer who had no idea they were going to kill it. He was pretty pissed when he found out and for good reason. It almost got the director in trouble with the people who protect animals from abuse in films.
It is great that most reactors dont know the fact that Jason is not in this. Fri, 13 Oct is the next one in october. Hopefully another reaction for part 2 is in the month of Halloween. :)
The Friday the 13th reboot was released in 2009, some time between seasons four and five of Supernatural. This was Kevin Bacon's follow up role to Animal House
Funnily enough my own pet peeve is when people get annoyed at the horror characters not reacting the way they think they should react. The amount of times I want to remind people that there is a Freeze response along with the Fight or Flight response to danger, and that it's actually pretty common to freeze and not react instantly. People's minds can also go blank with fear as their brain tries to make a decision or becomes overwhelmed with the shocking information they have just been presented with. (Also bear in mind that films cut back and forth between shots which make the moment seem longer than it actually would be for the character.) Albeit, there are definitely films out there that take this to the extreme, or have characters go out of their way to do something illogical, so there are definitely some horror characters that deserve to be called stupid, but most are just frightened people who don't handle stressful or emergency situations with instant clarity.
My best friend (who I jokingly call a Vulcan) does this too, I always have to explain to him that in a state of heightened fear response, not everyone reacts 100% rationally.
Me too. Even though I spent much of thr 80's hollering at screaming bimbos to shut up and hide and the killer might not find you myself. 😂 I still understood that people don't always react rationally (like we the uninvolved observer feel) in perilous situations when they're panicked, in shock and terrified.
The answer to when the Friday the 13th remake came out was 2009 The answer to who played Freddy Krueger in the 2010 remake it Was Jackie Earl Haley (Rorschach from the 2009 watchmen movie) 😊
Classic fight or flight response, with a mix of adrenaline rush fatigue. Plus from a purely cynical point of view, if Alice killed Mrs. Voorhees, it could easily look like Alice just killed everyone. Not that really amounted to anything but still
I love the shot of Annie in front of the cemetery. because the sign says "Hope, NJ" and 43 years later people are still arguing about where this series takes place.
To be fair, the diner folks said CCL was about 20 miles away and Enos only drove her half way so Annie was 10 miles from CCL @ the cemetery in Hope NJ.
Keep it up with Friday the 13th, you've started the franchise now you gotta chug through the whole roller coaster that is the remainder of the franchise
The special effects were done by Tom "The Wizard of Gore" Savini who had an unfortunate education by being a combat photographer in Vietnam. This also kept him from doing the effects for Night of the Living Dead.
A lot of movies were like that. Halloween, nightmare on elm street, Friday the 13, evil dead etc. Really low budget but with a desire to do and create something with passion and heart, and it's a good story. It's actually amazing!
@@travzimmerman1340 It's not a mistake. The writer has talked about explicitly reconning Friday 1's time of happening as 1979. A mistake is when they do something and didn't bother to check. Just because you don't like their decision doesn't make it a "movie mistake." And whilst there is that damn mailbox sign (the result of the new writer only having a weekend to push Jason into a Jason-less Friday they had already shot), the end credits of JGTH bills Jason properly as "Jason Voorhees."
I mean, it makes sense to do a reaction to this on this day. And in the month of horror, no less. Even better. But I'm still waiting for Evil Dead. Such a wild, gruesome experience sure to bring yells and laughter. Not just with the films, but with the show as well.
When Ralph rides off I hear the music from wizard of oz when the wicked witch shows up playing, also the look Melanie gives Aaron at 23:23 is priceless, also the reboot Nightmare was Jackie Earle Haley who was Rorschach from the watchmen movie .. I think
When you guys said get your ass in there that made me laugh like not stop the beginning of the film when the guy was touching her getting into the truck.😅😂😂🤣🤣🤣
I just watched this for the very first time, also in October, also on Friday the 13th, and I'm ECSTATIC to be able to watch your reaction now! Blind Wave, you rock!
You should know that the Friday the 13th remake with Jared padalecki actually takes place in the Michael Bay transformers universe because the character Trent is exact same character who did McKayla in the first transformers movie.
The ripples in the lake in the final shot was a happy coincidence. As the camera zooms in, it just starts to sprinkle and drops kept hitting the water perfectly in the center of the frame. It was never meant to signify anything since there were no plans to make another when it was produced. Fans have since regarded the ripples as Jason waking up.
This was originally set up as 1 movie but it was so popular that they decided to do a sequel. Unfortunately, they'd painted themselves into a corner with Jason being dead...so they just ignored that fact in the sequel and didn't explain how an adult Jason could exist.
That's The Thing the first film did tremendously well. The first couple of weeks in the box office that Paramount push to get a sequel made right away. And because each and every sick will seem to do really good at the box office and bring it in good money. They just kept making more sequels. And in my book they are all good except for the last one Is part 10 But anyways, you know, this is single hand lay next to the nightmare in elm street franchise, the biggest horror slasher franchise ever
They do indeed explain it. Now whether they explained it to your satisfaction is up to you, but there is an entire scene where they talk about Jason didn't actually drown and was just living out in the woods all this time. You either except it and run with it or you don't, but that explanation is in there.
@@ConstantineFurman I actually just enjoyed the movies as a young adult and didn't really care to tell the truth. It was a slasher flick. A lot of them didn't make sense back then. It's only looking back as an older adult that I realized that the throw away explanation in the 2nd movie, which was played off as a joke in the beginning, was a bit lame.
If I remember correctly the reboot has Jason see his mom decapitated, so it was filmed as a sequel to this one. I thought the reboot was good. Didn't know about the copyright issues; that explains why there haven't been anymore.
Kumbaya is considered a classic campfire song. You don’t have to be at Bible camp in order to sing it around the campfire. You just have to be singing around a campfire, and sooner or later you’ll be singing Kumbaya.
I just watched this yesterday on Friday the 13th, 2023 on an actual Friday. The only 1 I ever saw was Freddy vs Jason. It felt like a mad Psycho music & Mom twist ripoff imo. Had no idea Kevin Bacon was in it
One movie I will recommend that is very under appreciated so overlooked is 1990 Tales from the Darkside: the movie. I say movie cuz it use to be a television show back in the mid to late 80s.
If you guys watched a movie every Friday the 13th, the next one would be December 2024! Then June 2025, and Feb ‘26! I think we would all prefer they be more frequent than that 😂
From tragedy to vengeance. Evil was born. I was more sympathetic to the origins of the Voorhees legacy. It's a shame that Jason died so young and for the wrong reasons. I sort of agree with the mother's grief and her son's return to finish what was started. But as 9 sequels, 1 spinoff and 1 remake came along, it was more for the next characters to experience this legend of Crystal Lake, the kills, the fandom and all the major staple of the entire 1980s to early 1990s.
Did you just justify someone being a serial killer?? lmfao 😂… You do realize that some of those kids/counselors didn’t had anything to do with Jason drowning right (some of them weren’t there or didn’t even have anything to do with it) so how is Mrs Voorhees’s killings were justifiable??
@k.delpino1124, I’m saying by ur logic if a bank was robbing or stealing money from me, I should said go to this bank and murd3r everyone in there for stealing my money.
@jesusramirezromo2037 the last 2 years have but after this there's 2 at the end of next year. 2 the year after and maybe one the year after that. I checked
Friday the 13th is my 3rd favorite horror franchise (after Halloween and Chucky). I love these movies. Part 6, Part 4, and Jason X are probably my 3 favorite.
Happy you all are doing the classics for Halloween with Melanie but I hope you'll watch some more "recent" horror with her as well (fe Autopsy of Jane Doe, Gonjiam Haunted Asylum, Hell House LLC, Sinister 1, The Conjuring 1, Smile, Sleepaway Camp, and M3gan...last two are more campy than scary 😁)
Horror movies always remind me of something important. Proportional self defense is fine. But, if you are facing a monster, annihilation is the only solution...lol. Great reaction, y'all!❤
PLEASE continue this series!!!! Like seriously I'd LOVE to see your reactions to all the series. I'm sure the audience would too. Friday is a staple in the horror community & I'd argue it's THE franchise to react to out of all the old school horror's like Halloween/Nightmare/Texas/etc this is THE top dog as James A Janice (Dead Meat) would say. This is honestly one of the lesser films in the franchise too. James yet again from Dead Meat (I reference him a lot because of just how connected to the horror community he is, doing interviews, kill counts, etc digging up actually info on behind the scenes & what not) actually says this is in the top 3 worst of the films right along side the only other 2 legit horrible films. But all the rest are at the least passable if not great themselves. Anyway I hope you continue this, it'd be great. Fun reaction
Jason Goes to Hell is the only one I don’t like. I love Jason X, and I’m pretty sure James said he enjoys it now too. I don’t get the hate on Part 8, I like it also. The original ain’t bad either. Really there aren’t any horrible ones, accept Jason Goes to Hell, but even that has fans.
@@Kevmaster2000 Everything everywhere has fans. That does nothing to prove if the thing is good or not. Goes to hell is horrible. We agree, but part 8 has 1 good character besides Jason which is why it's generally disliked. Part 5 was my other hated one. 5 & Hell are just awful to me personally. I think the kills were censored too much, too many characters that took away from the only decent ones, the worst version of Tommy by far who is basically useless & somehow goes from that to the best ever version of tommy in the next film. And of course the fake jason still annoys me. But James specifically hates Hell & 8. I think Hell/5/8/1 are all more bad than good. 2/3 are decent middle of the road friday films. and the rest are good to great. 6 being the current best.
@@cinemaclips6074 I liked Freddy Vs Jason, I’m indifferent on Jason X. I just really don’t like certain of the films after 6, mainly 7 with them trying to incorporate a superpowered chick
I try to catch this movie every once in a while but only to watch the second sequence in Blairstown. I've been on that main street many times and it still amuses me to see the actress walk right to left across the same street she two locations later walks across left to right as if those were two different streets. I guess I get amused easily.
So Melanie’s entire life gets thrown off course when she feels a wire under the table, but she spent the best part of the movie nonstop complaining about why Alice isn’t doing this or that the way Melanie would obviously do it.
I don't care what the sequels say, it never makes sense to me that Jason drown as a little boy but in later movies he appears as a jacked up, grown-ass man. 😂
The 2009 remake combines the first 3 original Friday the 13th movies and adds new things to it - in my opinion the best horror remake of the 2000s by a looong shot
Is this the Kevin Bacon movie? I love this movie, it’s not scary or anything I just love the characters so much. I’m a sucker for Jack Burrell and Tommy Jarvis

I know you’re paying Melanie for this. But she should get double the fee! Love the Harley Quinn crew. Would be great if Eric could join for the midnight club if you’re doing that this year. It’s scary and thought provoking and absolutely heartbreaking as all of Mike flanegans shows are. But I’ll enjoy your reactions either way. Happy spooky season guys x
yeah they told the snakes owner they were borrowing it then they killed it so small rough spot god I love f13 but this movie is carried hard by betsy palmer harry manferdini and tom savini
The snake stuff always upsets me when i watch this movie i have to let it play through do something else cause it sucks everytime 😢 Absolutely want yall to continue the Friday The 13th journey the good the bad doesn't matter love to see those reactions 😁 Fun reaction those jump parts where great looking forward to Part2 🤞😖🤞
Based on the upcoming days that are Friday the 13th. You shouldn't wait because it would take you until the year 2028 to get to the 9th film just watch them all sooner then later .
