Fun Fact: Friday the 13th Part III was originally intended to be final installment of the Friday the 13th trilogy, as producer Frank Mancuso Jr. felt no one respected his work on the films despite their box office gross and wanted to move on to other projects, and Paramount believed that the Hollywood slasher movie trend was in decline and they had become somewhat embarrassed by their association with the series and the genre. Although Part III was a box office hit, the studio was dissatisfied with the film as a climax for the story and decided that a fourth movie would be "The Final Chapter."

Fun Fact: The Friday the 13th sound effect is actually, "Ki-ki-ki, Ma-ma-ma," which is music composer Harry Manfredini whispering the sounds into a microphone. The sound in the original movie was supposed to be the voice of Jason in his mother's mind, compelling her to murder, telling her, "Kill, mommy! Kill, mommy!"

I originally saw this at a drive-in. The 3-D glasses don't work in that scenario so they achieved the 3-D effect by adjusting the depth of focus... which lead to some really hilarious effects.

I remember watching all these as a kid. One of the things I always liked about the Friday the 13th and Halloween movies was how they used bigger and taller actors to play Jason and Michael Myers. It gets to the point to where the actors are like 6'4" and 6'5" so when Jason and Michael are next to their victims, they're physically so much bigger. I always thought that it made them much more imposing and menacing characters. Great reaction.

Tracie Savage(Debbie) previously appeared in the TV series Little House on the Prairie, and later became a reporter for KFWB radio in Los Angeles, covering the Heidi Fleiss and O.J. Simpson trials. Fun Fact: Jason's hockey mask was molded from a Detroit Red Wings goalie mask.
@auckalukaum
@auckalukaum 2 года назад
That's not exactly right. The film's crew had a pickup hockey team, and the 3d Supervisor, Marty Sadoff, was the goalie. He had a Fibrosport brand goalie mask in his bag that was painted in Red Wings colors (but it was a generic off-the-rack ice hockey mask). It was too small, so it was enlarged multiple generations by thermoforming copies over the top of Sadoff's mask, and then again and again with each successive generation until it was big enough. Shelly's mask is actually a smaller version of the one that Jason wears. The mask was formed in relatively thin transparent plastic and painted on the inside. The triangles were glued to the outside of the mask. The hockey masks in every movie except Jason X have a direct lineage to the original mask in Part 3, although that one disappeared after filming and was later found to have been displayed by one of the crew members until it eventually disintegrated.

Jason Voorhees was indeed played by a different actor in each movie, Jen. In Part III he was played by late British actor and stuntman Richard Brooker, who later appeared in the B-movie Deathstalker, a Conan The Barbarian knockoff, which you should also totally check out. lol Brooker performed all of his own stunts and was the first to wear the trademark hockey mask, and also had to wear foam padding under his shirt to make him look more stocky, due to him being slim and muscular. He sadly passed away from a heart attack in 2013 at the age of 58.

Fun Fact: Friday the 13th Part III opened on Friday, August 13th, 1982, and became the first movie of that summer to successfully knock Steven Spielberg's E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial out of the #1 spot at the box office after ET had been at #1 for two months. It was the second highest grossing horror movie of 1982 after Spielberg's Poltergeist.

@44excalibur 2 года назад
Yes, Friday the 13th Part III is the first movie in the series that does not take place at Camp Crystal Lake, or any other camp, like Packanack Lodge in the second movie, and settles for more of a "cabin-in-the-woods" format. Friday the 13th Part III was also the first movie in the series to be filmed in southern California and not on the East coast, as the first movie was filmed in New Jersey and the second was filmed in Connecticut.

Fun Fact: Friday the 13th Part III was radically altered from its original concept. Originally, director Steve Miner wanted Part 2 actress Amy Steel to return as Ginny Field, and the story would have copied the plot of Halloween II, with Jason tracking Ginny down to the hospital she was taken to and begin murdering the staff and patients there. Amy Steel turned the role down due to being involved in other projects, but she later recalled: "They really wanted me for Part III. They didn't have a script, but they were just going to show me some sort of outline. Then my agents got involved, and I don't know if it was a money issue or a script issue, but I didn't do it." She later regretting not having done more Friday the 13th movies.

Continuity error: The first two movies establish that Jason Voorhees is a deformed child who has asymmetrical eye sockets, with one eye drooping down lower than the other, and in Part 2 he wears a sack over his head with only one eye hole cut out of it. But whenever Jason wears the hockey mask, the actor's eyes are always symmetrically aligned with the eye holes of the hockey mask. lol

The part where Jason crushes Rick's head' you can do that very same move in the Friday The 13th video game, I of course gave that one to Part 3 Jason to use in the game. But now I use a body slam into the ground whenever I use part 3 Jason' got to switch things up every now and then to keep things interesting. Yes you should start watching some of the Godzilla/Toho Showa Movies soon' his birthday is early next month on Nov 3rd, Godzilla will be 67 this anniversary. I gave you the list to write down awhile back ago so if you want to start going though a few of them now, you can always break each set into a trilogy if you like. With over 30 films that's over 10 trilogies just in the first series it might be wise to go the trilogy route' but that's up to you as to how many you want to do at a time? But I'll recap and give you the first three titles to start you off, but you'll have to go back to our last commit for the rest of the titles. So here are the first three again: 1.Godzilla (1954) 2.Godzilla Raids Again (1955) 3.Rodan (1956) Have fun and keep them coming!

Wow, I'm glad you finally got to Part III, Jen! 😀 Yes, it was indeed filmed in 3-D, as you can probably tell by the lousy resolution due to the transfer to standard 2-D. There are also a lot of obvious moments where an object is being pointed directly at the camera for 3-D effect. This movie was part of the 3-D trend of the early 1980s, where 3-D made a comeback after first being introduced in the 1950s. For some reason, they keep brining 3-D back every 25 years or so. lol

Yes, Steve Miner directed both Friday the 13th Part 2 and Part III. He also worked as part of the crew on the original Friday the 13th. He later directed1998's Halloween H20 with Jamie Lee Curtis and 1999's Lake Placid with Bridget Fonda.

And he also directed the highly underrated horror comedy HOUSE (1986) with William Katt (from The Greatest American Hero TV show), George Wendt (from Cheers TV show), Kay Lenz (from Rich Man, Poor Man TV miniseries) & Richard Moll (from Night Court TV show)...

The first seven I would say are the best, although from part 7 onwards is where they try different things with the franchise.

Thanks for another great spooky season reaction video, Jen! 😁 I can't wait to see you react to the next movie, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. If only that were true. lol 😆 And no, final girl Chris does not return for the next movie. Instead, Corey Feldman appears as the new Friday the 13th protagonist Tommy Jarvis. I certainly hope you can get to some other slasher films like Prom Night(which I know is on your list), Terror Train, Happy Birthday To Me, and April Fool's Day, which stars Amy Steel from Friday the 13th Part 2.

You're right, Jen, the eyeball-popping was totally fake. There are seven different muscles responsible for eye movement that hold your eye in place in the eye socket, so it can't just pop out like that. Don't ask me how I know. lol 😛

At this time in movies if it was the third installment like this movie and Jaws 3 they turned it into 3d movies. 3d was primitive at the time so you will notice all the scenes the camera angles were either shot an larger than 90 degrees (obtuse) or the actors turning diagonal from the camera if the camera showed a strait on shot to produce the 3d effect. It was very scary in the theaters.

Primitive 3D was made in the 1950’s. 80’s 3D was a bit more advanced.
