Do you know how it is, sometimes you buy something to make your house looks nice but sometimes doesn’t work the way you expect. Thats what happen with Jason when he hang Crispin Glover there!
@@MrSandman610 I think they’re on about how he talks about the behind the scenes and the actors much more than he used to or on about some emotional thing
@@MrSandman610 Just go watch the oldest kill counts and you’ll see what they are talking about. It’s definitely a huge improvement to how he use to do them.
@@MrSandman610 Older kill counts were more so just their name, kill counts. He'd mostly just hop around, kill to kill and count em. Also way less jokes Now he goes into behind the scenes info, fun facts, plenty of jokes, goes into some more detail on kills (notably in special effects) For a good example, watch the old Friday kill counts. Good videos, but FARRR different from his current style, and the new recounts he's doing
Rob's death was the saddest considering he was trying to avenge his sister. His realization that he had failed while screaming ''Hes killing me" is tragic
Jason's death where his face slowly gets impaled by his own machete and Tommy just kept slashing at him, is truly deserving of that golden chainsaw award. A savage and brutal way to die.
I just love the Ted White story. This is a true old pro in the business, knows exactly how wrong things can go, and isn't afraid to say "you do this safely or you do it without me." And still won't say a bad word about even people he clearly doesn't like. Dignity and respect, the world needs more people like him.
Love how compassionate the guy who played Jason was to his co-stars, and even insisted on warming his co-star up. It's always nice to hear how actors who play some of the scariest film characters are some of the nicest people in real life.
I agree he seems like he was really looking out for the younger cast members. It's such a shame though that people in production had so little care for the health and safety of these young actors that it took Ted White threatening to quit before they got her out of the water. Hypothermia is no joke.
Corey Feldman is seriously underrated. Its a shame his career didn’t take out as an adult due to him telling that he was abuse by high ranking executives. That was the better choice
@@ziv576 Angelic 2 the Core is a damn masterpiece and don't you dare slander it ever again. It's like the movie "The Room" but the music equivalent. It's truly one of a kind and we won't get something so unique and special like that for a very long time.
It’s fascinating how each of the big 3 killers has a “true nemesis”-Freddy has Nancy, Michal has Laurie (and Loomis), and Jason has Tommy. Yet the other enmities start out in the first installment, while it took the Friday series 4 titles to get a proper foe for the Vorhees legacy.
And then Friday Part 7 comes out and they said "You know what, fuck Tommy! Let's make a new person for Jason to chase!" and just like that we're back to square one.
@@generalbanana1885 Honestly didn’t mind Tina, If The lawsuit didn’t happen, the franchise probably would’ve milked the fuck out of Tommy & ended up in the current state Halloween is in
This gotta be one of the most iconic Friday movie because of the likable characters, the introduction of Tommy Jarvis, some of the kills which are great, Ted White's portrayal of Jason and for having him killed, at least for a while
@@Zacman1123 Just like Jason goes to Hell: *The Final Friday* Jason only goes to hell at the end of the movie and it's not even the final Friday movie. Maybe referring to its sequels that won't have Friday in their titles.
I look at it as the "final" film of Jason when he was still "human" to an extent before the second half of the series where he was full on undead/zombie Jason from Part 6 and onwards.
I might be late on this but I am sad to say that we have lost a legend, Mr. Ted White. I heard the news from one of my best friends and when I saw the post, I was crying for a good 20 minutes. Ted will always be my favorite Jason of all time, R.I.P Ted.
while my favourite jason actor belongs to part 2 Ted was a brilliant Jason and along side corey feldman made the film for me and hearing this sound saddens me alongside every other friday fan, if only the game still received updates maybe a gravestone could be added in his honour alongside other cast and crew who are no longer with us
I just wanted to put it out there that I really like these recounts! I went back and watched the original videos, and it really shows how much James and his team have grown and how much work goes into all these Kill Counts. I also love the behind-the-scenes footage and facts James supplies that were missing in the first version of the counts. That way it's not just a synopsis of the movie, and people who have already seen it can get new info (and also laughs :)!) I guess Im just saying I love these videos. Great work to the Dead Meat team!
Been watching since the start, the change is huge, and I love how far he’s gone. Also he is from my home state and likes the wolverines, even better reason for me to love him.
Friday 13th ( original video) was the first franchise I watched the only shame is Friday 13th part ||| was already age restricted 🚫😭 but now we have the recounts
I know the "coroner eats over a dead body" trope is cliche, but apparently formaldehyde smell makes you hungry. Coroners and morticians often chew gum to cope with it. Fun facts!
Have you ever smelled formaldehyde. Apperently not, you don't get hungry from that. A mourge smells like cleaning and bleaching agents. There's no formaldehyde, it's for preservation not cleaning. You would rather have chloroform around. It's used for sterilisation of instruments. No one eats in there, the sickly special corpse in freezer smell isn't repulsive, but it's not pleasent. The might use strong smelling ointments based on mint or tiger balm to deal with heavily rotten specimens. I don't know where you heard that, but in all my years as a paramedic and working in a local hospital's mourge, I never heard anyone say that about formaldehyde.
The fact he called out MatPat about the whole Teleportation thing feels like something just came full circle because Mat did a Film Theory about Jason "teleporting" which he probably started (and referenced) the fact James stated it in some of the earliest Kill Counts during the original counting of this series.
@@stephenbrown4257 Yeah mat-pat did a theory on this they are actually friends they have had some mention in each other video and mat-pat even made appearance on James podcast.
The guy who played Jason seems like a really nice and professional gentleman. And now knowing he doubled for John Wayne means he may have been in some of my favorite movies.
Part 2 is on Friday part 3 is on Saturday and she gets rescued Sunday morning. Part 4 starts Sunday night. Monday the teens drive to the lake house. Tuesday is when all the kills happen. And it ends in the hospital on Wednesday
The Rob kill is still my favorite and most unsettling kill. The fact that he is so powerless and overwhelmed that he cannot fight back and all he can do is yell out that Jason is killing him is so messed up.
@Melany Addilyn I think it was based off of the murder of Kitty Genovese. She was murdered in the courtyard of her bulding and was yelling something close to "he's killing me" while everyone in the surrounding buildings did nothing because everyone thought someone else was going to help her. It's called the bystander effect.
It's not one of the best, it is the best. It has by far the best writing of the series. No offense to Jason Lives, but that film has like 2.5 fully developed characters, and part 4 has like 9. Sure it has an overarching story, but it's literally just the plot of Halloween with less cooperative cops.
I love that Ted White seemed to really care about the actor's he was working with! And the fact that he was in his 50's when he was Jason, is just crazy too me! Hopefully I'm that agile when I'm in my 50's.
I wish he was a bit younger. Some scenes when he's running you can tell that he's a little old. But he does a great job in his brutality, and really set the stage for Kane Hodder who I think is the best actor to play Jason.
I feel like Rob being there is actually very logical. The emotions so raw he probably geared up the minute he put it together what happened. So far, The Final Chapter is my favorite.
The asides about Kimberly Beck taking care of Corey Feldman and taking him trick or treating, and Ted White standing up for Judie Aronson were both really sweet. Sometimes, I think the behind the scenes moments included in these videos are my favorite part 💙
I love these recounts cause James tells us more about the behind the scenes of these films, I especially love that Ted White threatened to quit if they didn’t get Judy out of the water to warm up, such a nice guy
While I appreciate the older episodes for being a straight rundown with jokes, I absolutely love the focus on behind the scenes, especially as a Video Production Student.
Apparently the “he’s killing me” kill was based off a real life event where some dude was getting killed over the phone and apparently said something similar like “he’s killing me!” I don’t know how legit that is, but still
It's still very effective and is more psychological horror than physical since it's all in the dark and it's left to your imagination how brutal is Jason going to town on him. Spooky.
It reminded me of an old news story too. Supposedly in New York, or some major city, a lady was slashed up on a public street by some guy (possibly her ex). She cried out for help and screamed "He's killing me!" but no one stepped up to stop it until it was too late.
Dude in a alleyway was getting murdered and screamed for the better part of an hour screaming and shouting saying “HELP ME! HES KILLING ME!!” not one person went to help the dude and there was an entire audience practically.
It's so fascinating how Ted White, who played the man killing all of the kids in the movie, was actually their actors' biggest advocate IRL. Very admirable.
What would’ve made the “COUNT!” gag even better is if the camera switched over to Chelsea and had her go “James!” in a concerned tone like in the movie 😆
It’s honestly so wholesome that Ted White did what he did. I don’t think there’s ever been a Jason actor to ever do any of those things. So good on him.
Maybe he was asking Ted White where the corkscrew was then Ted White showed him where it was Why didn't Jimmy scream? If someone jammed a corkscrew into my hand I'd definitely make myself vocal
19:24 Am I the only one who loves how he said that? Because Jason's actor was Ted White and its like Glover's character was talking to him. I find it pretty hilarious.
Every episode has at least one line that makes me think James deserve all the money and praise he gets for the kill count. This episodes line was “Mister clean up your room”. I was dying when I heard that
Kimberly Beck doesn't like horror movies. Hence why this is her only physical appearance in the franchise, not counting the recap footage in Part 7's opening.
@@Zacman1123 well she was a child actor and she had a good career. At least she seemed to have appeared in a lot of things. In an interview I read she said they never called her back to be in another Friday movie. But yeah actors really don't want to do the same role over and over again. Unless they're getting multi million dollar contracts. Lol
My theory on the whole "coroners eating around dead bodies" thing is they're constantly working when on shift so they don't get time to eat lunch away from the bodies. They have to eat while they work. And considering you'd have to have a strong stomach to do that job in the first place I don't think many would lose thier recently eaten lunch seeing the gruesome stuff they do
I'm pretty sure the Morgue at the Hospital I work at doesn't allow food in there, I know it says no drinks but I'm like 90% sure there was also a sign for no food too. Only had to go in there once though so might be wrong.
@@Werewolf914 still it makes sense. With hospitals especially getting a ton of people dying either in the hospital itself, on the way from an accident/murder/whatever or AT the accident/murder/whatever (The EMTs get there and they're already dead). It'd make sense they'd get alot of dead incoming and not alot of break time
@@jongon0848 that's a bonus. Like I said at the end of my theory if they're strong stomached enough to work with the most gruesome of murders eating while a body is nearby isn't much issue. Eating or not anyone who can't handle seeing a dead body will puke. I'm probably one of them because I've never seen one irl up close so I don't know
If you look at it as the end of Jason as a regular, but strong as shit human, then yes this is a "Final Chapter" in a way. But yeah, you know they were just winking at each other like crazy at the thought of this being the last movie.

@@felixwilliams1460 because he says after Hellraiser 3 they become convoluted and would be a chore for him to rewatch the sequels after 3, it's why James has said he's considering doing a kill count for Hellraiser 1-3 only (Meh)
I always think of this being The final human chapter for Jason. Before he became the hulking supernatural zombie badass he becomes. Also most days I prefer not to think about part 5 at all. This chapter will always be my favorite though!
My 2nd favourite F13 movie. The kills, look of Jason and characters are pretty good and entertaining. You improved so much since your original F13 videos and it's insane. Really well done James
@@lishishur293 Wild guess, but I bet it's the remake, because Jason's terrifying, the kills are great, and most of the characters have actual character.
@@Scoldy_ Remake is my fave. And I find it underrated cos too often lumped in with the other remakes of that era of horror films like Nightmare and Halloween when I truly feel remake Jason is one of the actually scariest incarnations by far.
I love how simultaneously progressive and sleazy these Friday the 13th sets seem to be. Higher ups are pushing for more boobs and poor working conditions, but actors and some crew band together to push back and act in solidarity for other actors. Horror at its best is pretty revolutionary, so I'm glad that even in the most terrible of productions, there is a little life in all that death and cynical cash grabs.
God, Corey's interviews are just heartbreaking. It sucks seeing how much he was basically set up to crash and burn. I just hope he has some form of peace now, even if that (sadly) doesn't seem like it's the case.
@@jakealbert2101 Cory Feldman and his friend Cory Haim were sexually abused by executives throughout their childhoods. There’s a movie on it called A tale of two coreys that gives you surface level information. Cory Haim committed suicide from his trauma and no one believed Cory Feldman until a couple years ago promptin the movie to be made. I don’t think children should be doing acting after seeing so many instances of it ruining a child’s life. If you’re going to let your child be on TV,be with them every step of the way.
@@user-jn1wm3tb8v According to the Crystal Lake Memories book and doc, it came from a newspaper article director Joseph Zito read. A mugging had turned into a murder, and as the vic was being stabbed, he said to his killer “please stop killing me”. Zito said he was haunted by how the victim recognized he was being murdered and had a “conversation” with his own murderer about it during the death. He thought using it in the movie it would take all the visceral joy out of watching Jason kill someone by reminding them that Jason is evil, so he kills this guy trying to avenge his sister’s murder.
I can’t help but be reminded of the Imaginationland special of South Park, when Kurt Russel runs into a certain gang of Woodland Critters and starts screaming through the portal about how they’re… violating him.
Fun Fact: Did you know the comic book cross over of Friday the 13th vs Evil Dead, it's confirmed that Jason is actually a Deadite, meaning the teleportation powers might have come from his resuraction into a Deadite. It's fun learning these things!
Laughed my ass off when he said "We come out of the opening credits into a f*ckin' BUDGET!" One of the funniest lines yet on KC. James and crew just keep getting better and better.
It’s it just me who got a little smile when James talked about how Kimberly who played Coreys older sister in the movie took him trick or treating and took him under her wing I think that’s sweet
Friday 4 was one of the stronger films in the franchise, however as some of this episode shows it had one of the most toxic working environments from any of the Friday films with many of the cast and crew complaining about the harshness on set, they were not treated well at all. Kimberly Beck, the main girl in this film especially recalls how horrible it was to work on this movie.
James, I've watched you since the 7th Friday the 13th kill count. I want to thank you for all the years of consistent entertaining, funny, and informational videos, (AND THE GREAT PODCAST). You are my favorite channel on RU-vid and although you're in a burnout thats fine!! Take your time and congratulations on your marriage! The channel is in good hands haha :) Thank you Dead Meat!
Honestly I think he should start these redo kill counts with, “Welcome to the Kill Count where we RE-tally the victims in all our favorite horror movies!”
I just now noticed Jason was wearing a different mask during the climax. When he kills Doug in the shower, he has three red marks on his mask. But when he later fights with Trish and Tommy, he only had the center red mark between the eyes. Did anyone else catch this?
Ted is a really nice guy outside of playing Jason. In the raft scene, he argued with the director who wanted the girl to stay out in the water longer because Ted knew that she could get hypothermia by being out there too long.
@@richieboostajr.35 Hodder is the best sorry. I think Ted White is great, but Hodder really brought a performance to Jason and created the most iconic Jason in the eyes of the public.
I love how it’s gone from simply talking about the story and counting the kills to talking about behind the scenes, the actors who were in the movies, and the history of the horror genre. It’s so awesome!
With these recounts, it's easy for people to be like "James is just covering the same movie again. I'm not going to watch that". But I really appreciate them! Not only does he go more into depth on the movie, but he also talks about the behind the scenes of the movie, making for more of an interesting and honestly, unpredictable episode. Without them, it's easy to tell what the entire episode is going to be like if you've seen the movie that's being covered. Putting behind the scene's info from the movie makes for a more fun, interesting, and unique way of talking about the movie without just talking about what everyone who's seen the movie already knows. It can easily get repetitive and boring if he just recaps every scene and counts the amount of kills (no offense James). Personally, I love these recounts and I hope we see more older Kill Counts get this treatment outside of the Friday the 13th series. Yes, I would like to see more movies that haven't had a Kill Count yet be made. But I would also really enjoy to every once in a while see an older movie or series get a recount. I think series like Scream (which James has stated he already plans on recounting at some point in the future) and Saw would benefit greatly from a recount with behind the scenes info
It's good for James to do recounts, but at the same time he could put that same effort into doing another movie franchise rather than redoing what he's already done 🤔
@@PlanetNateGaming He felt like the first kill count series wasn't up to par with his later stuff. He even said he didn't really say much about each film, he just kinda rushed through each one. He wants to give each film the best kill count he possibly can. I can really respect the fact that he can admit that he's grown as a content creator over the years.
I personally love the recounts for the information behind the scenes that he provides. It's also obvious that James puts great time, detail, awareness and care into these recounts. I was actually hoping he would recount the Fridays and he didn't let me down
Your original Friday Kill Counts ended being some of my favorite "comfort videos" that I'd watch on days my mental health wasn't doing so hot so it's really cool watching these new updated versions I'm loving them
I remember really loving the intro to this movie, with the police at Higgins Haven in full force with even a helicopter. It just shows how much damage Jason caused there just hours before, enough that the investigation lasted all the way into the next night.
There's all the little continuity touches too that nail it like the broken railing Jason falls through and the rope still hanging in front of the barn door
This and 6 go back and forth as my all time favorite F13 movies. This one has some amazing kills especially Jimmy's. And I love all the new background info on the movie. Nice to know not only was Ted White a great Jason but he is a great person as well.
