Poppers are a classic summer pattern, and learning the basics to create poppers out of deer hair gives you an excellent jumping-off point for all sorts of creative flies! You can also use the same techniques to create streamer heads, crustacean bodies, dry flies, and all sorts of other critters. Just remember to use strong thread; nothing is worse than breaking your thread in the middle of one of these!
