You are so fortunate to have so many friends to sew with! I would love to do a retreat and just sew, hang out and drink wine with friends for days. Your vlogs are always fun and interesting. I’m glad you took a Friday off to relax and recharge!

I would love to go on a sewing retreat. I live in the U.S. and don’t think they are done over here. They do have quilting ones and I also quilt but a retreat for that would not be something I would want. I belong to a very small quilting group that meets every Thursday but I don’t know anyone who does dressmaking-seems to be a lost art over here. I don’t even have a fabric store within a 100 or more miles-thank goodness for on line shopping

Try a local American Sewing Guild. I assure you there are garment sewists here in the US. I’m in the process of organizing a retreat being in the same position as you are….looking for a sewing retreat and friends, but lots of quilters. I do quilt as well, and knit, but primarily sew garments. I contacted the local library to volunteer to teach sewing, and haven’t stopped since. I thought maybe I’d create some sewists if I didn’t see any. Just some ideas. Happy sewing!

It's great to see you had a fabulous time at the retreat. You can buy a Babylock trim bin separately. I had mine as a xmas present. Think Frank Nutt has them. Its like a stand with a poly bag but think I'll replace the bag for a memade fabric one 😂

I love it! All the sewing retreats near me are just for quilting. And there are some sewing socials but they're at like 2pm on a Tuesday and I'm working. =(

Adele, I watch you when I'm sewing in my sewing studio ( bonus room above our garage) and am not always sure which episode I am watching. 🥴Recently you were talking about trousers you were fitting which you described as needing a sway back adjustment but over your tummy. ☺️ This is more often described by saying the front rise is too high on you. So essentially you need to lower the waistband. There is a method called Top Down Center Out to help us more easily fit trousers. On RU-vid The Crooked Hem has a great series about this method. Part of it involves toiling a complete waist band, fitting it precisely and the putting it over the top of your pants and pulling it lower or higher than the stitch line on pant waist til the crotch fits you properly. The videos make the process much more clear. Hope this might help you. Love your videos.

I’ve made the Pietra shorts and found I needed to go down a size, like you I thought I would okay with the same size as my shorts, but mine feel to high waisted. Your marnie is gorgeous x

I make the Pieter a pants all the time, I am size 12, but cut out size 10 front and 8 back and fit perfect, hope this helps ❤

Hiya, the staffordshire one only has capcity for 10 but Sally has a list that when people are on holiday etc she opens it up for more. If you message @thestaffordshiresewist and let her know you are interested. Or you could come to beckys in Northampton which is open to anyone as its much bigger room. x
