Hi Stephanie! Thanks for checking in on my channel 🥰. Can you believe I've just finished the Coronation trousers and they are the best pair I've ever made, typical eh as I will only be able to wear them once 🤣. Still the others look good and I'm just working on that cargo pair which has so many pieces 😱. We are both so fortunate to live in beautiful places but yours wins hands down with your mountains and lakes! We need to take another trip to California 👏🏼. Have a wonderful week xx😘

I like the long sleeved tee on you. I think it’s very flattering. And how interesting that your dog likes to dig on the burial mound…he must smell the remains. Dogs have an incredible sense of smell. You’re so lucky to have such beautiful places to walk.

Thank you, I have worn that top and I am actually quite happy about it. Someone suggested doing the Cashmerette calculator and it turns out I was right on the first size I did, the long one! Oh Sarah, poppers scare me too! You do all that work then end up stretching the fabric at the end and I never like the end result. Coronation trousers are finished, I can't wait to show them next week 👏🏼Enjoy your weekend 🌸

Big win on the t-shirt! You have the cutest figure and the tee just shows it off. Great pants too! Oh, the sweetness on the baby sleeper. Are you kidding, of course they're going to use it! I love your mug rug, it's far better than mine. I love the cargo pants pattern, you've got me thinking I should try those. I'm still just stunned by Mickey (or Minnie) embroidery on your t-shirt. So pretty, so classy! And go Katie. You can see how proud she is in that smile (I've loved getting to know her!). The fabrics - the softness comes thru on camera, I can just feel it. Your coronation pants are going to be hilarious. Can't wait to see them. And hopefully Mickey won't turn up any skeletons! xoxoxox

Thanks Jen 🥰. I don't always like a tight fitting t shirt but if the pattern disguises the rolls then I'm happy 😆. I love the babygro but I may change the poppers if I can get them off, they are so bulky. Those Coronation trousers have annoyingly come out so well, perfect fit and of course I will only wear them on one day!! Bloomin typical isn't it😂. Honestly I was so happy to see Katie sat at my machine, how sad is that? I need to get her to come and do some more 😂. I was more hoping Mickey might unearth some buried treasure that they put with the bones?! Have a great weekend where ever you are xxx💖xxx

When I make baby clothes, I also use the snaps on a roll product, it’s so much easier. You have been a busy lady, so many makes, I’m jealous. I’m doing alterations this week, for an elderly lady. She lost a tremendous amount of weight after she lost her husband and has nothing decent to wear. I’m happy to do it for her. I’m surprised about that T-shirt, being so small on you, I have shied away from Cashmerette because I thought they were for curvy women, but I guess it’s all in the cup size. I have tried their free T-shirt pattern and had to adjust the neckline because it was to close fitting for me. Have a great weekend
@socarole66
@socarole66 Год назад
Thanks Sue, I need to look further into the snaps on a roll as the ones I have are way too close together, that is too many snaps for new parents! I may remove the plastic ones if I can and replace with the metal ones I used to use. Another thing I have done before is cut out each popper on a roll and sew individually. You are right about Cashmerette, because I am relatively small I do wear a DD bra cup hence I have trouble with tight fitting t shirts. The Concord does seem to work a little better for me so I will definitely make it again. What a wonderful thing you are doing with the alterations, how rewarding your work must be, bless her. Enjoy your weekend and thanks for the advice 😘

Carol, when I made baby clothing for my grandchildren, I used "snaps on a roll". This product is designed for baby clothes. The snaps are small and already attached to soft cotton twill tape that you sew on the seam. The onesie you made is so cute. Try it again. It will be perfect. Suzanne

Thank you Suzanne. I do have some snaps on a tape but it really isn't that soft and they are so close together. I figured that is too many snaps for new parents! I love the fabric for your coronation trousers. I think it's the perfect fabric! The pants pattern looks really nice, too. I'll have to see if I can find it. I want to start with a trouser, but am still in the motivation part, so I'm amassing patterns trying to find the perfect one. Simplicity seems to fit me quite nicely, with the least amount of alterations needed in blouses, so I'm hoping that will be true of pants. :D The little outfit for your granddaughter is adorable. I've seen those plastic poppers and the ones with the claws and they do seem quite bulky. I use just metal sew on ones, like the vintage style. However, those orange poppers look so nice with fabric. It's very stylish, and maybe they'll loosen up with use. Your t-shirts look great on you! I hope you have a great weekend!

Thank you for your kind words on my quantity of sewing! Glad you liked the bunting but no, I don't use any stabiliser and I just keep my fingers crossed it doesn't rain! your concord tees look really nice! no idea why but i've found a lot of big 4 trouser patterns don't add a fly shield on fly front pants. totally bizarre and luckily i think the newer ones have it so maybe that's a permanent change that they've made, fingers crossed.

Hi there, thanks for your kind words. All of the trousers I have made before have had a fly shield but thinking about it they were Kwik Sew and Burda which may have been different to the others. It is an easy fix but I wish I had just done it in the beginning rather than waiting to see at the end! Thanks for watching 🌸

Concord is my favorite T. That doesn’t mean I didn’t have to adjust it a bit to fit my body. I also dislike “poppers”.

Thanks Barbara, I have cut another out already as I realise now it was meant to be tight fitting, it wasn't that I got it wrong! Argh poppers, I tried to get them off but to no avail. Hey ho, I'm going back to the ones I used to use next time it was just a sewing shop recommended them to me 😩. Thanks so much for watching 😊

Maybe you have to see if the police would like to use your dog as a cadaver dog to find bodies. He seams to have a knack for it. Lol. You have a really lovely choice of fabric to work with. I have the Concord Tee pattern too, but haven't made it yet. Now seeing yours, I want a long sleeve one and a short sleeve one. They are quite cute. I do agree though, the pattern block isn't quite the perfect size for you. You have to do a wee bit of fudging around with the fit yet. I hope it works better for me.

Ha ha that's so funny Linda, I think Mickey would do a good job! Re the Concord tee, lots of viewers have told me to use the Cashmerette calculator which I have and it told me the first size I used was the right one so it is obviously meant to be a tight fit! I have another long sleeve one cut out but I have widened the sleeves slightly. Let me know if you make one. If you haven't already, try the calculator before you start one. Hope all is well with you and thanks for watching 😊

@@socarole66 I've tried the calculator a few times and I've gotten 3 different measurements. I fluctuate about a half inch either way on either my full or high bust, and I also wear anything from a B cup to a D cup depending on the company making it. So I'm not really sure which size I should use. I just printed out the concord and am going to try the larger bust size first and see what I think. Cashmerette said I was a B/C cup in a larger size (I don't remember which size off the top of my head), and then either a D/E, or an F/G one size smaller. So I'm going to try the last one first, because tee shirts are always too big under my arms in the high bust area.

An outfit for pictures. I have those poppers too and they come apart to easily. I don’t like them. I bought the higher quality ones for the rest of the items i plan to make

Thank you so much for watching. I have desperately tried to get them off but to no avail. I will stick with the metal ones I used to use in the future! 😄

@@socarole66 you have to use a flat head, screwdriver, wedge it between the fabric and the back of the popper so that you’re not doing damage to the outside fabric. And then you just kind of wiggle it back-and-forth oh, in the side to side motion and it’ll pop off it’ll pop a Park

@@rennells thanks so much. I had seen various you tube solutions, one using a staple remover but no luck. I think I jammed them together too much to be honest. If it was one or two then it might not be too risky but there are just too many. I will certainly try your trick though, thank you 😊

I made the sweater that looks wrong side out. I choose an oatmeal color nubby knit. It was a major fail. I looked like I was wearing a feed sack. Yikes! I hope to make it again in a more flattering color.

Oh dear Susan! That did make me laugh as that is the sort of thing I would do. I mean it looks nice on the model in that pale colour and I have actually thought about just using the pattern and sew it up 'properly'!! I may do that one day. Thanks so much for taking the time to tell me that and enjoy your weekend 😊🌸

Did you have to make any changes to the crotch depth? The pants fit you well. I think Cashmerette has a post on how to choose your correct size. Maybe see if you can find that?
@socarole66
@socarole66 Год назад
Hi Diane, I did slightly alter the crotch but only by 1/2 inch. Annoyingly the Coronation ones I've just finished fit to perfection 🤣. Someone else has told me about the Cashmerette calculator and I did that after I made those. However it said I should use the size I made first? I will go with that in the future but make the sleeves slightly wider. Thanks so much for your advice, take care 😊🌸

I had the same thing happening with the Concord. My friend loves the pattern and loves wearing it very snug, but for me personally it feels too tight.

Straight after I read this comment I went onto the website and did just that! Thank you so much, I wasn't aware of it and I actually made the right size first time round so the pattern is obviously designed to be close fitting. Thanks for your advice. Enjoy your weekend 🌸
