Hi Rachel, I love watching your channel and you are an inspiration with all you're garment sewing and different crafts. Thankyou for all your hard work filming every week.
Your heart jumper looks so lovely that must have given you great satisfaction when it was finished. Also your Heather dress I thought looked lovely the colour is gorgeous. Thank you again for all your vlogs they give us such lovely ideas. 😍
I love your quilt block so much! Those crochet hearts on the jumper are super fun and I’m so inspired by your granny squares. My daughter wants to learn crochet so I might point her in the direction of that pattern. I think your Heather dress is beautiful - that colour is just wow!! I absolutely love that you’re into a bunch of different crafts. We just never know what we’re going to get on your channel and I’m totally onboard with that!! Have a good weekend! 💞
Hi Izzy! Thanks so much!!!! It’s a wonderful little pattern for the granny squares, and such a great tutorial if she wants to watch it on RU-vid! I am loving delving into all kinds of crafts and sharing them here. Thanks again for the quilt block! I love it!! Have a lovely weekend!
Hi Rachael, another bumper week of content. Quilting and dressmaking. The Heather dress is one I wouldn't have looked to make but I think I'm a convert, as yours is really nice. I can't wait to see your donny shirt, as that fabric is gorgeous! Darling little dinosaur top for the birthday boy! How cute is that! You are fully immersed in valentines and your top looks great with those hearts attached, genius. Well done that girl, there's no end to your talents.
Hi Annette! Thanks so much and very glad you like all my makes and plans! I do love Valentine’s Day!!! Haha you’re very kind! Thank you as always for watching!
Well I know you aren't keen on the blue as reminiscent of your school uniform but how lucky were you that you had the most perfect colour for your skin tone! The dress looks lovely on you. Sounds like you had the perfect day, friends, fabric and food, how wonderful. Not surprised that fabric played on your mind as it really is something different and will look fabulous as a jacket. Thanks for sharing such a fun filled week with us ❤ x
Ah thanks Carole! 💙💙 that’s very kind! We had such a great time last week and I’m so glad I went back to get that fabric! Hope you’re having a lovely week!
Aww your son’s birthday jumper is gorgeous! I finally bought a Circut joy well early birthday present from the family. It is about as clear as mud at the moment but you have just inspired me! Fingers crossed I can do something like your birthday jumper amazing! Love your fringe dress stunning . Thank you for the inspiration xxx
Thanks so much Lesley! I hope you love your cricut! I use my all the time! RU-vid videos are brilliant for showing you all it can do! Thanks for the fringe dress love! I’m so happy with how it came out! Thanks for watching!
It’s a lovely warm weekend here in Atlanta, and I intend to sew 120 HST for the quilt I’m starting. I enjoyed your video and hearing of all that you have going. ❤️
120!!!!!!!! Oh my word! That’s a lot of HST. Hope you have plenty of cups of tea or something stronger and something nice on the tv to keep you going! Glad you enjoyed the vlog and happy sewing!
Great to meet you last weekend 😊 I've done that too, where you see a fabric and then just have to go back and get it. Your quilting and crochet are coming along great aswell. Looking forward to seeing the wildwood jacket made-up in that gorgeous fabric 😍 Might've accidentally bought that pattern this week😂
Oh, those heart quilts are so sweet! I have done a little quilting, too, and I found that Donna's tutorials over on Jordan Fabrics really helpful. I have never done freehand quilting, though. That is on my list. :)
Thanks Karen marie! I’ve yet to get the hang of the free motion… but I’m having good fun trying 😉 quilting is really good fun! Jordan fabrics is great alright!
Hi Rachael, some great things there, love the fabric for the Donny Shirt. I am also following Izzys qayg, not done my lst block yet as I thought it was a new block every 3 weeks😂 I will have to check back. Looking forward to your next vlog x
Hi Janice! One block every 3 weeks makes way more sense! Oops! Hope she’ll forgive me for getting that wrong! It’s such a wonderful tutorial! I loved it! Hope you get on well too! Thanks for watching
So many lovely creative projects in just over 15 minutes. Lots of inspiration. The quarter inch foot is great for sewing quarter inch garment seams as well. 😉
Rachel , love watching your quilting and crochet adventures. Izzy is also a favorite of mine. I’m finally sewing again after 3 months of rehab my broken wrist. Then, my sewing machine broke. I’m finishing a quilt top and starting pants toile. So many things on my to-do list. Your videos have been great! You have relaxed so much since you started. Have a good long weekend-Claudia
Hi Claudia! Thanks so much! I’m so glad you’re back sewing and I cannot believe your machine broke!! Hope it’s all fixed! I think there has been an evolution on my vlog for sure! Thank you for sticking with me! Have a lovely weekend!
Wow Rachel, you don't stop, and a "multi-crafter" like me! Isn't it hard sometimes......so many crafts, so little time! Those applique hearts are so pretty on that black jumper! All of you makes, and quilty things and crochet came out great! Enjoy sewing all of the things you have prepped and Happy Birthday Little French Seams!🎂Thanks for sharing!💖-Mary
Being a multi crafter is the best, isn’t it 😉 so little time, you’re so right!! Thanks so much! Cannot believe my baby is 3! Thanks so much for watching mary!
So many lovely things coming out of your sewing room! I love the way you show us your learning in progress as with the heart quilt blocks…it is so encouraging to see that we don’t all get it on the first go-round but we keep at it! Thanks for sharing all the things you make…even just the ones you nailed! Oh dear! Was I ever disappointed that you won’t be joining Team Heather! 😉 Just kidding….I admire that you finished it! It looks great on you, but obviously you know what you like best! I have a solid green Heather and I like pairing it with a beautiful cardigan I crocheted a few years back. So maybe all you need to do is crochet a cardigan!! 😂 I hope you enjoy a lovely, lovely weekend with your family!! Looking forward to seeing what pops out of your sewing room next! 😊
Thanks cyndy!!!! Oh I’m still very much learning!!! I’m sorry I didn’t love the Heather! I feel I’ve failed you 😂😂 it’s very “hippy” on me 😢 not hippie… but draws attention to my hips 😜😜 ooh I’d be very interested in a crochet cardigan. What pattern did you use? Hope you have a lovely weekend too! Thanks again!!
Rachel, I love your Valentine jumper! The heart granny squares are gorgeous! That is something I’d love to try. I can’t wait to see what you do for frocktails. 😊
I am making a fringe dress now! 😊 I love yours! I just bought fabric for my froctails dress today too. The theme for Atlanta is Bridgerton. I was looking for light blue but found a reddish Dupioni silk or satin with organza ribbons in different shades of pink sewn on in squiggles. It was $4 a yard so my dress will be only $20. It was a rescued from the landfill fabric so I don’t know what it is exactly. I just know it’s perfect for this occasion!
Ooh you have a theme for Frocktails. That’s a fun idea!!! That fabric sounds fabulous!! I hope you have a really great time and I hope you love your fringe dress too!! Thanks for watching
What made you unsure about the Heather dress? It was the first knit dress I made on a course at sewoverit. I haven’t made it for a long time but still like the design. You have achieved so much sewing ,with a young family 😊
Hi Ruth! I found it was too much fabric around my hips… where I try to avoid too much fabric 😂😂 but it’s kinda growing on me and I loved the sewing process! I’m very lucky, my boys are both asleep by 8pm which is when is start my sewing for the evening 🥰🥰
Thanks sue!! I made a size 8 grading to a 10 so in the fabric guide they recommend 1.8m for the size 8 and 2.1m for a size 10. But I got mine out of 2m hope that helps! Glad you enjoyed the video
Hi Rachel, I just got the Wildwood pattern and fixin's in my last subscription box (Needlesharp) I chose that pattern because it was on my wish list, and I was fully intending to make the vest, but there is enough of everything to do the jacket possibly. What to do! I loved your last one, and your new one will be awesome! I hope to cut mine out this weekend. Great video today, and happy sewing! ".....living rent-free in my brain" 😆
Hi Lynn! I just looked up that sub box! It looks great! The wildwood is just brilliant, and really doesn’t take too much fabric! I hope you love it too.. which ever version you end up making!! Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks so much for watching!
@@TheFrenchSeams_vlog I will probably still make the vest; I could probably make 2 and gift one. I've got a yummy quilted knit in a deep rust that I wanted to use that pattern for as well. 😉 Have a happy Valentine's Day!
Hi there! For my santas I hand stitched them, just because of their shape. For the hearts I machine stitched with a longer stitch length, lots of pins and took it slowly! It worked out well! Thanks so much for watching! Hope you’re giving it a go?
