just made this. turned out perfect! thanks! our bananas were really overripe and super sweet so we halved the sugar. i'm thinking the next batch we will try adding some fresh scraped coconut
Most of the jemput-jemput pisang you buy from malaysia are dry and hard. I think they added too much flour and less banana. Homemade one is much much better and its very easy.
I'm allergic to wheat flour what is a good substitute? Also, what is good about adding the sugar to the mixture the last minute before frying? Thank you for your reply.
I was looking around the tub to see wat to cook or fry jemput jemput I make them today me to from S, pore. Now I living in U,K. I do miss alots of good foods from our own Country. I did last week carrots cake. Thank You for putting up this clip
Called 'cucur kodok' (Kedah accent: cucoq kodok) in my home state of Kedah. It's delicious, I love it, in fact I am gonna make it tomorrow for buka puasa, I have 6 ripe bananas in my fridge that I still can't figure out what to do with, but I didn't know that tepung beras (rice flour) is added, but I'll try your version though. My mom used to often make it when I was a kid..
Hi ms.Nyonya,i really love it!this is one of my favorite snacks. My mother used to made this to us.It's crispy and also i love the way you presented it. Thumbs up! More Power.

Pisang goreng is when they coat a whole banana (or at least big chunks) in batter and then deep fry them. This one has a sort of banana pancake texture to it. Where I'm from (Singapore) we call them Jemput-Jemput
Hey Grace, Nice video thanks. Suggestion to also tell viewers the reasons WHY ... for example 1) why only add the sugar st the end? 2) the the mix of rice flour and wheat flour as opposed to all wheat flour ? Or why not all purpose flour (technically also called wheat flour) Or why not add some all purpose flour or even bread flour (to make it more chewy) Hope the feedback is useful ☀️
Hi Marc, thanks for the constructive feedback. Actually, I've explained the reason for adding sugar here: www.nyonyacooking.com/recipes/fried-banana-balls~HyMxuwsDG5-7 and updated your question regarding flour on the recipe. We try to have as much information in one video but do not want to drag the content. Anyway, hope the information helps! :) Give us a food snap once you've tried the recipe!
Haha...thanks for the support. The videos are up for you to look at it when you need it. Actually, if you are heading to Germany, you will need it due to the almost non-existent Malaysian food here. >
Nyonya Cooking: U ada resipe masakan Jepun tak yg sedap tapi tak susah buat, kalau ada boleh lah share..saya suka sejenis masakan beef goreng dengan soy sauce campur mushrooms, spinach etc, don't what the name, I tasted in Tokyo many yrs back...kalau you ada resipe Japanese cooking, share lah!
True true. At least we know that we put real stuff into our food. Best banana found in Malaysia and the nearby countries, i guess. Otherwise...anything also can la. :P
to enhance the taste, I see some people add the fresh grated coconut (kelapa parut) into the mixture... hehe.. but for me, i would prefer this original version more... hehe
Ohh good question. Our cook covered this question about flour here: www.nyonyacooking.com/recipes/fried-banana-balls~HyMxuwsDG5-7 Check the recommendation to avoid hard cekodok pisang :) - Admin
hi, i tried this recipe but mine looks a lottle different. is the inside texture right if it is slighty uncooked or ? I have never tried this before so i don't know. please help
My mouth is watering!! I'm sure i'll be dreaming of eating all the food you've cooked on your channel xD I'm a big fan! Keep up the amazing videos! Any chance of you making Roti Canai? :P
Hmmm...the batter looks quite soft to be airfried. You can reach out to our cook here: www.nyonyacooking.com/recipes/fried-banana-balls~HyMxuwsDG5-7 - Admin
Hello, i tried to cook it. But mine is undercooked in the inside.. LOL How to cook it evenly? Because if i cook it longer, the outside will look like charcoal
A ha....I suspect the heat you used to cook was too high. Hence the inside is uncooked while the outside is fully fried >< So, use medium heat and you can try with a bit of flour first before you fry them all. Good luck!
Hm? Not too sure with what you mean. We explained more about the purpose of flour in the recipe here www.nyonyacooking.com/recipes/fried-banana-balls~HyMxuwsDG5-7
