Here’s a twist to Sesame balls with a yummy coconutty ube jam made from scratch.

FOR THE UBE (PURPLE YAM) FILLING
14 oz frozen or fresh grated purple yam (thaw if frozen)
1 can coconut milk (400 ml)
¼ cup sweeten condense milk
1/3 cup water
½ cup granulated sugar
FOR THE DOUGH
1 bag glutinous rice flour
1 cup rice flour
¾ cup mash potatoes (dry potato flakes)
1 can coconut milk (400 ml)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 TB baking powder
1 cup hot water (for mixing with mash potatoes)
¼ cup warm water (add 1 Tb at a time between kneading dough)
1 tsp vegetable oil
1 bag white Sesame seeds to coat rolled dough balls (will only need half the bag)
Serving size: 22-26 sesame balls more
This is a lot of ube, so you will have about 1.5-2 cups leftover
