This is what has me scratching my head about high-end am manufacturer's. You could watch 100 Friedman BE demo's, and not hear a tone like this. It completely misrepresents the amp line. Had I know a BE could sound like that, with that much mid-focus, punch I'd have purchased one by now. I would think that would concern Dave Friedman. One in-house demo with their amps dialed in the way they were designed to sound would be all that's needed. Tone is always subjected...but, there are "RU-vid Celebrities" who weren't even able to dial in this amp to sound like this (Clean or dirty). They almost always use too much gain, among other things. This was KILLER. The only thing wrong is that they spent too little time on the tone itself, given it's a manual, as opposed to a demo. Every amp under B.A.D., should have it's own well-dialed in demo for each model, and skip the RU-vid celebrities, BS.
This amp is absolutely amazing! I had an opportunity to try one at Guitar Center. Surprised they even had one for sale new. Clean channel is surprisingly versatile with only two tone controls. But what impressed me the most,is.that even with the gain dimed. The gain still remains musical, punchy and expressive at ten. No trace of muddiness or mushy bass heavy sound to the gain. Excellent product! Wish I could afford one lol.
Mark have you had a chance to A/B the BE50 vs the BE100? I’m about to buy one of them. The 100 I have played and love all the channels. Kinda wish the HBE boost had a level control. Do you think using a boost in the loop would work? I’m considering the HX Effects and could do all that through the loop.
I don't work for Friedman anymore, I work for Fractal Audio. I have not A/B'd the two amps, sorry. A clean boost in the loop would work fine as a level increase device.
So badass but I have a question, if I'm at a gig (and using the effects loop) and I want to turn the amp up or down I have to reach behind it and use the master? That seems like a problem...how does it play out for you?
Please do not take offense because I am truly one of your biggest fans. I purchased the Axe Fx Ultra and the Axe Fx II and the Friedman amp (Steve Stevens) largely because of your videos. However, I am a tad disappointed to learn that your fantastic tone in this video(may have) required approximately two thousand dollars of additional equipment (maybe 1700 with the right connections)! My question is how much of the tone is secondary to the Two Notes and the Roland? Also, I hear delay. What effects were you using (any overdrives or the EQ on the Two Notes)? Again, do not get me wrong Mr. Day, if I need to shell another 2000 clams to nail that tone, then I will do so. The tone is that amazing. Of course, your fingers account for a significant amount of the variance and I will, unfortunately, be unable to buy those!! Thank you for your kind attention.
Your videos are superb however on this one I would suggest going in to way more detail regarding the loop! That is actually a deal breaker for me (assuming I'm understanding it correctly). So if the master on the front "must be set between 5&6" that means that during a gig if I need to adjust my volume I need to reach behind the amp and adjust the volume? I think a video just on that would be helpful if possible. I was literally about to buy one of these but that stopped me dead in my tracks. Not being critical, just looking for some guidance here.
I wanna hear what delays and reverbs sound like in the loop. I want to hear how the character changes when you have the loop active. I want to hear how it takes pedals. More is better.
Id be sold if the effects loop was footswitchable.not too mention the knob on the back of the amp becomes ur master volume when effects loop is engaged.thats just weird and inconvenient.looks like ill be looking at deziel or bogner....
OK I HAVE TO ASK ,, Is this the real deal or the Axe Fx , i dont have money for BS , im a regular joe man .. shoot me straight Pls.. idont care either way , but would like to have this type of tone
me thinks my next amp is gonna be a Tone King Imperial...I've played through a couple and could not stop...that's all i want from an amp...inspiration...makes the weak mighty! So...if you want to sell one... : )
Hi Mark are you using a Hardwire DL-8 delay? If not, did you try it in the BE? It was recommended to me by Dave Friedman but never got to try that out. Great playing as usual, take care! Nico.
WHAT ARE USING BESIDES THE GUITAR AND THE AMP ? ON THE CLEAN DEMO I HEARD LIKE A SIMULATED STEREO EFFECT? I LOVE WOULD TO HEAR THE AMP & GUITAR DEMO ONLY , THAT WOULD BE NICE , ALFRED NYC / PR
Hi Mark; could you kind to tell us the Humbuckers brand and model you are using on the les paul and the speakers on the Friedman 4x12 cab.. Thank you!!!!!
This is a great video, but you still have to wonder, are there customers buying this expensive gear, who really don't know these basic things? Anyway, one of the best modded Marshall tones I've heard!
Is there some amount of diode clipping at work with ALL distorted settings or only in saturation mode? In other words if you set the amp up for lower gain crunchy sound are diode clipper out of the signal path?
whats the differance between the new BE-100 and the 2012 and 2013 one with the built in attenuation? Is it the same tone and same circut or where there upgrades in the sound of the amp? Please help I wanna buy one but I only played the new one at a guitar center but I really need that half power switch!
@@cardbored_ REALLY ? ,shoot me straight , Im poor bro ,, im no sure if this is real or Axe fx , but i want this tone if i have to sell some shit , this dude not going to tell me
Even with a sound check. When your playing gigs you usually adjust your volume on the first song. Sometimes you adjust slightly as the night goes on. The thought of having to reach over the back of the amp to adjust the volume 'cause I'm using the fx loop is a major turn off.
Hey Andrew. The fx loop return volume control on the rear is there to compensate for any level changes your effects might cause. The master volume for the application you are talking about is on the front panel. You don't need to reach over the back to adjust your level. You would do this on the front of the amp
